This Homeschool Mom Morning Routine WORKS | DITL SERIES Part 1 | HOMESCHOOL MOM CONFESSIONS

Join me for PART 1 in a homeschool mom ditl (day in the life of a homeschool mom of 6). Homeschool Mama Friends out there, I've read your comments and heard you, as requested this series will have more DETAILS. I couldn't fit everything in one video, so this is PART 1 and in it I share most of my (homeschool mom) morning routines. I have ADHD, a homeschooling ADHD teenager, and tween and so bit's of that are reflected here. This year I'm homeschooling two in high school, plus kids in 7th, 4th, 2nd grades and preschool/preK.
PART TWO • A Day in the Life of a...
In part 2 I'm sharing WHAT KEEPS ME GOING after 13 years of homeschooling and how I handle attitude problems (mine and the kids).
Did you know my video's now have SUPER THANKS? Each of my video's takes on average THREE days to script, film and edit using professional equipment; if they are a blessing to you and you'd like to help keep them coming you can! At the bottom of each video you'll see SUPER THANKS and you can make a donation to help me make more videos! Every donation is DEEPLY appreciated and goes towards production and time costs.

Hello! I'm Shayla, a homesteading homeschool mom to 6 wildlings, & wife to one. We're a big, Jesus loving, God fearing family & we love to laugh!
Hubby & I are second generation homeschoolers, & have been homeschooling our children from the start-since around 2009. We were raised unconventionally, and our parents utilized homesteading before it was trendy, so it was a goal and dream of ours to do the same-but it's only been recently that we have been able to bring this dream to full potential. Recently the Heavenly Father brought to life our dream that we've had for over 25 years and enabled us to buy a mountain homestead fixer upper, so join us in the adventures and fun here at our new homeschool/homestead! Be sure to subscribe (I try to upload weekly).

You have no idea how much this video is helping me. The Lord has made it very clear that I am to homeschool all three of my children from now on. At first I was only homeschooling my eighth grader because of middle school nightmares but in the past month, he has told me to bring my first grader home and because I already had a preschooler. I am now home schooling an eighth grader, first grader and preschooler. This morning in my prayer time, he said that I need to make home schooling a priority above all else so in my despair lol, I turned to KZread to find someone who is doing the same. This video, the realness, the layout, hearing all the things that I hear on a daily basis, from my children come from yours is extremely settling. I know Youtubing and homeschooling may be extremely hard but please do not stop sharing your life on KZread. I know it’s helping many, many mommies ♥️ I pray for your strength, agility, and the abundance of grace, as I pray the same things for myself lol ❤

@@FaeganAdams I use voice text too and it always gets me into trouble too, lol! Thank you so much for using the links! Believe it or not, we still have almost all the toys from that haul in working condition and the kids and their cousins and friends love them still to this day which is shocking to me. Usually the pieces or the appeal are lost with most toys after a week or two but not so with those ones. I hope your littles enjoy them!

Eating is a must. I learned that the hard way today. its was after 4:00 and I am eating for the first time today. We did our first day of school and I was just so caught up with getting school going and helping everyone. That was not good. I love the prayer after the meeting. I loved the video, all of it. I enjoyed seeing the real time things. I am sure that it took you a lot of your time, but I am so thankful!! I would love to hear about how you end your school day and if you have any routines to started dinner, afternoon activities, and then also house work. I would love to know how you might connect with your preschooler in the afternoons too. By the way... loved the first, second, third, and even forth breakfast lol that is so very very very true here too.

I have adhd myself and my oldest son also has it. Some days I neeed to be outside!!! I cannot stand being indoors some days. For me being in nature reminds me how blessed we are that I am capable and most importantly it was MY dream to stay home and raise my own kids. Nature keeps me grounded especially since I do not have my family’s “approval” for staying home with my kids. They make fun of me, they interrupt lessons so I can do favors for them or simply cook for them. Its funny they know I love to cook and bake and they will randomly show up ON PURPOSE to get me behind on my schooling. Then they casually say “see you are not cut up for this”, or “you did not go to college for this”. It is so annoying. Homeschooling is not easy, very rewarding but with this kind of attitude from family it is very very hard. And yes I have spoken to them about their attitude towards my home, they do not care!

Hello Arwen, thank you for sharing! I have a couple videos that tell how to handle people like your family. Watch these, they will help you!!! What your family is doing sounds rather abusive, to be honest and you do not have to put up with that. I don't know if it's in this video, but what some of us homeshcool mom's eventually did (in addition to the tips in the videos) is get a sign for the door that says, "School in session, please come back later", and then do not answer the door. Dont' take the phone calls. Here's the first video; kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4dhs5indq-xj5s.html Part way through this video I shared more about how to set boundaries too kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6hk1riBqZesYcY.html I hope these help you, Arewen. I know how challenging that is, especially with the ADHD factor!

We have been wanting to buy a land and home but have been held back by any life circumstances such as budget and becoming caretakers of medically fragile family members. This means we are stuck in a rental that I feel I can’t make a home. We have a very small garden and a few chickens which helps. But we are a family of 5 in a very small 2 bedroom mobile home which isn’t in the best condition. It makes me feel unmotivated because I can’t even put too much money into making them home the way we want because we’re trying so hard to save to move. It’s very stressful.

This is great, thank you! I'm wondering for the kids that can read through the day's plans and independently do their work, do you check on their work, or have any tips how to make that smooth? One of my kids can work independently for cognition but in the bookwork, she does the absolute minimal work. Hard to know how to set them on cruise control while they might be not doing what they're supposed to do. Any ideas? Thx so much 🙂

Hello Erin, I'm sorry it took so long to respond, I've had an influx of comments flood in lately! Yes, I do check their work and to make sure they are doing more than just the bare minimum I make them set a time and work for a specific amount of time. One way that is hard for them at first but is very, very good for them is to ask them to narrate back to you what it was they learned. If they can explain what they learned, then they really did learn it fairly well. As I said, it is one of the harder ways for them-it's harder for example then a written test, but it's a better way to see if they truly learned it.

When the kids were babies how did you do it? I’m finding it difficult bc my baby needs so much of my time. I baby wear to do lessons or do them as soon as she wakes up when she is the most pleasant and independent. I do attachment parenting so that’s probably why it’s a little more challenging. She contact naps. The kids are 7 years apart. The older one will not do homeschool work independently unless it’s Science. I suspect she had adhd. I believe hubby and I do as well.
