@@Ayan-bp4dqyes they make a spar out like they're on TV in the fight of their life and they especially try to exploit a sparring partner who is preserving a pace and trying not to hurt them. Then they get caught in a plumb clinch and take a knee to the short ribs and wanna take their ball and go home. When I did Karate I had a spar during my Purple belt test and the dude punched me in my head 2X while I was observing the no punches to the head rule. He took advantage and knew he couldn't really beat me and my Sensei ( R.I.P. ) jumped in just as I was about to take the safety off. I was gonna crush him and I'd be lying if I said it doesn't bother me to this day. But he knows it happened that way because I ALLOWED it and he felt appropriately bad after.

The problem is when you are in front of a very high level guy. If you ain't sparring against someone clearly below your level of proficiency, then the risk is actually getying hurt or knocked out. The best is to verbally say "stop. Dude, calm down, we are not teying to hurt eachother and this is not a fight, sparring is just for experience, not to win by knockout or health concerns on the other one." If he doesn't understand, just leave the guy sparring with the air.

Yea this is normal at good Dutch gyms, but also common with the Dutch maroccan fighters (I love their style, but try to avoid sparring them when I have a bad day). You are way too kind and risking it with the dodges VS this rough style, if he would be better he might land some damaging shots. This is why we usually go for pretty full defense and try counter a lot to stop the sparring partner from dominating. And also use many knees! You are taller, when the aggressive fighter moves in throw that flying knee! Obviously you are super skilled and know how to do this, now you are in the Netherlands this is your chance to knockout all your sparring partners with bodyshots! And in my experience there is very very little ego involved with the better fighters in the Netherlands, they don't care about the opponent/sparring partner though. At the last 3 gyms I was at the class would have like 80 people signed up and only 20 attend because the rest have injuries.. I'm not saying this is good but it quickly filters out the not so good fighters
