I like how that last kid threw way to hard and you could see you wanted to teach him a lesson but at the same time tried to be carefull not to hit him to bad because he obviously doesnt have that much experience.

I think the difference between us Hobbyist and him proffessional is the consistency e.g. cardio. Most athletes who compete on at least the national level can go for rounds without end.
Ahmed is so awesome, I have watched him before! His control is off the charts. Beautiful balance and power and a pleasure to watch. Each student had great control and attitude and was clearly trained by a great. This brings us super healthy, respectful sparring.

0:19 probably one of the most frustrating things about sparring is when you land a clean controlled head kick and they catch the kick on their head and then sweep you. Great sparring though, great control as always, love these vids dude.

Yeah, but thankfully some people do know that that isn't a thing
that high kick you threw at 4:10 was so perfectly controlled he barely noticed. that was a lights out shin to to jaw kick and you stopped it on a dime. GREAT skill man!

Its so great that you actually do live free sparring. I cant stand those channels that show all kinds of intricate techniques like most of these wing chun channels but yet they never actually show it being used in sparring against good opponents like you do. Respect!

Aside from your obvious technical striking, it is so interesting to see your wrestling and scrambling skills, they seem underrated, probably because we don't see them as much lol

People don't seem to understand that basically every takedown and throw can be done like that 😢 That's even how Aikido teaches some of it techniques, you run into an opponent that expects a strike and instead do a standing joint lock or takedown. The thing is that most Aikidoka do not spar, let alone strike, same with many other grapplers like Judoka. So everytime they come forward, you know that they are about to grapple you
You are truly skilled I’ve been training 35 plus years and yours are some of the best sparring videos I’ve seen Thank you 🙏🏻🥋

Your control of the distance is great. You deal with speedy opponents with great timing and lot of that has to do with the fact that you controlled the distance very well. You like to fight on the outside for this reason. Very good stuff! Great video.

Great video as always, Jeff! Thank you for sharing. I wasn't there and don't know what was agreed upon, but from what I see, Ahmed is kind of outta pocket no? Response to a pulled head kick was a takedown? And then goes to throwing near full speed spinning hook kicks like he wants to take your head off? Bro got something to prove? 😂
That "coach" was almost going 100% while you were going really easy Jeff, wish they all had as much humility as you. Good video as always!

The foot sweep was awesome.You threw a jab not only for distraction, that made Ahmed to move more of his mass on the back leg, leaving less on the front. Then you don't need a lot of force to sweep out the front leg. This is incredible!
Getting a bit to nice with em broski, that flying knee was nice, solid control and tech.

off topic question, but I just watched a vid on CTE. How have guys like you and Varga kept from suffering that type of damage?
You are so smooth between your speed transitions because your partner feels speed will get you,but you react with on point counter offense threat. You could have gone “Vanderlei” on couple of those rounds, but you kept cool.

I've got a question - Will training for strength in the weight room improve my martial arts? (of course do mma on the side as well)
@TuzyKawaii

Depends on the exercise type, if you priortize hypertrophy like body builders it will slow you down. If you go for strength and endurance exercises its more likely to benefit you.

@@TuzyKawaii I have been lifting weights for about 9 months and I have been doing mma for about 4 months now, I switched my training from endurance to strength now (weightlifting gym) and was asking whether that'd be beneficial.

Should be a no brainer that being stronger will make fighting easier, but if you plan to compete you should consider how gaining mass will impact your weight class
@micaylapresley

@@creepkayKettlebells and sprints are the best for combat conditioning. Strength alone isn't enough, it's better to build workload capacity. Kbs give you power endurance. Try Simple and Sinister. The routine is online for free if you Google it. Good luck with your training!
