Right. Miranda is at least honest about her wickedness. Hell, even in the "Ginger's Solo" episode, she cheered Ginger up with some genuinely helpful advice (even if Miranda felt icky after doing so).

Wasn’t there episode where like DOdie convinced Ginger to throw a party because she would become popular therefore she would become popular by association, Ginger didn’t want to do it because you know she’s kind of an introvert, but did it just to make her happy and then last minute Dodies Mom told her she couldn’t attend the party, (she a whole another story to be honest she always looked down on Ginger’s family) anyways Dodie wanted Ginger to cancel the party because of it, but Ginger was like dude no invitations are out I can’t just cancel it , so she was all pissy about it and crying calling her a fake friend

I believe that's "The Easter Ham" from season three you are describing. Yeah, the Foutleys were going to throw a party to celebrate both Easter and Darren's (who, at that point, was dating Ginger) birthday, but a fight between Ginger and Dodie's respective mothers over the last ham at the store caused Joann Bishop to forbid her family from coming near the Foutleys again. Dodie's sh***iness in that episode stems from her demanding that the party should be cancelled all because she couldn't go. The highlight of the entire episode is Darren calling Dodie out on her BS attitude.

There was that episode where Dodie and others tried to break Ginger and Darren up by pretending to be her talking to another guy over the phone... so yeah, this checks out. 😅

I loved that episode because it was a peak Courtney episode, it showed how she truly cared about Ginger and was the '5th friend' in their circle....and then they ditched her entirely in the higschool episodes.

As someone who grew up watching this show, and now 31 years old, this hits EXTREMELY harder. I have this EXACT situation with my father to this very day, so watching this at her age with the same hope, to now an adult who understands the realities of life and situations, this truly breaks my heart even more. Someone wrote this episode with the exact understanding of wanting him there and extending their hand to it basically being slapped away. That's an extremely hard emotion and situation to portray, and even harder at that age. Bravo to the writers of this episode, and to DTS for this AWESOME and amazing video!!

Dodie was obsessed with popularity so she was as fake as possible in order to try to get it, and she was always so jelly of Ginger because Ginger is actually herself and a good amount of people like her for that and she couldn't stand that Ginger was more popular than her without even trying. She was such a desperate tryhard, it was honestly pathetic. And then she kept pulling nasty mean girl shit because of it. Ginger needs better friends. I've seen others mention it but Courtney was a better friend to Ginger than Dodie. Let's not forget how the power of morning announcements went to Dodie's head and she almost outed Courtney for having lice for a petty popularity power grab, and Ginger saved her from getting revealed. And then notice how Courtney later on in the series helps Ginger with her reputation and even reveals how her fake friends are trying to break her up with Darren. Ginger and Courtney are everything that Dodie isn't and she can't handle that.

I remember when Dodie used to get on my nerves....and she still does. 😂 But let's all be honest. Ginger and Macie wouldn't complete without Dodie. I mean, try picturing the show as it is without Dodie in the picture and tell me that it would still be the same show. Even despite how irritating, irresponsible and, let's not forget...a bit creepy she can be, As Told By Ginger wouldn't be As Told By Ginger if all the characters weren't there to play their roles.
