We went down to the giant spillway to chase down some spring run fish! We are targeting anything that willl eat our crappie magnets, but it became clear that there was one fish species in particular that was loaded up beneath the swirling water and they were going crazy! When you busted out the spinner bait, I was reminded that my favorite white bass lure where I live is either a roadrunner jig with a big blade, or a beetle spin.

Where I used to fish, there were a few rocky shorelines, and many a person would learn the hard way, not to hurry on the rocks. Not only a fall issue, but 3 or 4 people a year would get bit by cottonmouths laying in the cracks of the rocks. LCRA finally started putting signs warning of the possibility of snakebite. Great to see Jay ripping the fish like she was. Wouldn't be a good fishing trip if you didn't catch a drum. As always, looked like fun.

Really enjoyed this video. My cousin, who lives in Conway, took me to this exact spot. I know that climb up the stairs behind you in the end of the video is a killer (I'm in my upper 70's). I know that bucket of fish must feel about 4 times heavier when you get to the top. Fishing is good here in Illinois and we have had a beautiful February and March, but our fishing pales in comparison to fishing in Arkansas. Best of luck to you both! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Do yall use a certain app that tells you the best times to fish during the day?? I try to use one online that tells the minor and major feeding times in that particular area, and ive been getting skunked more often than not. Love y'all's videos!

We don’t use one. We just try to go when weather and water conditions are good. We look at water level on live online charts to help us decide where to go! Early in morning and in evening we tend to have better luck or on cloudy days.

That’s a wonderful area! Right by the white river you can trout fish on and close to some of our big ozark lakes. You’ll be hard to find tucked away in there!
