Isaiah Hartenstein is playing his best basketball when it matters the most: his NBA contract is expiring this summer. The Knicks fans are hoping their front office can keep the German in New York for a longer time. In this video, BasketNews' Augustas Suliauskas analyzes what makes Hartenstein such a valuable piece for a team that's looking like a real contender in the East.

I'm from Germany and I really don't know which guys I wanna have on the olympics roster in the front court. We have Thiemann, Theis, Voigtmann, Franz & Mo Wagner, Bonga & Hartenstein. Kleber won't participate but he would be just another very good option...

To clarify on Hartenstein's nationality/race etc... His father is half African American and half German and his mother is a white American. You want to clarify but actually you’re just creating a false narrative. Hartensteins father is born and raised in germany and lived nearly all his life in germany. His father is a German with one American parent and he played in America because of his career not because he’s American. And also Hartenstein was born in Oregon and lived his early childhood there but mostly grew up in Germany. He speaks native German and even plays for Germany. You are not saying wrong things but you’re message is wrong. Hartenstein is definitely German
