There a definitely viable attacks from outside ties but always fighting for inside position is a good rule of thumb

You dont need inside bicep tie. You can hit takedown with the outside overtie just as easy

You don't need it for every takedown but that doesn't mean it isn't a skill to work on.

Ear to ear collar tie is one of the worst wrestling tie ups. Very little offense and though to move out of that clinching position
