I doubt seriously that thing flies at 10000 feet! Maybe 1000 feet. You can't pressurize it to fly much higher than 1000 feet. Rule 1 DON'T fly higher than you want to fall!

Its got a nice holder for your will. You could even put your tombstone in the back😊

I like how no information was left about this plane so we had to do our own research. For those who wonders, this plane is N301AX made by Archer, a startup based in Palo Alto. The plane has 12 motors, 150mph top speed, 1.5 ton weight, 75kwh battery, of which only 37kwh is available for cruise and 60 miles of calculated max range. The plane made its first hovering at the end of 2021 Sadly I think it’s not very useful, at least to me. I thought it would be a good future commute aircraft but (rated) 60miles of range is way too limited. It’s probably faster to just drive my also eco friendly electric car which ranges 520mi and I don’t have to worry about it dropping from sky or emergency land in someone’s backyard

@@jreutp Its as garbage as an electric powered semi Truck. The sheer weight of the batteries, pulling a huge heavy load makes the range extremely low. Here the power required to create lift will ensure this Crap will never be a viable alternative to fuel.

Fuel gauges are pretty accurate so you know exactly how much fuel there is but the same can't be said about battery percentage. Avg lion batteries start deteriorating after 300 or 400 charge cycles. Also conventional helicopters can safely land even after their engine shuts off mid air.

The problem with ev airplanes is the speed. Having jets that can break the sound barrier compared to ev which the fastest recorded ev flight so far was only 387 mph. The difference is astronomical. A standard commercial airliners average speed is between 460 and 575 mph.

This thing flies itself. Their is a joystick and buttons. That is it. Not as fun, but definitely not going to fly very far, as any batteries so far have been quite the let down. It has eight power hungry electric motors. So far the batteries don't last more than 15 minutes which to me, that is chopping into safety quite bad. Battery technology has a long way to go. Thank you for this, I love this type of stuff

​​@@ningtabs8165 Forget electric transport full stop, and focus on Hydrogen and fully synthetic fuels and fuels made from waste that all work in all existing engines instead. To build just 1 Electric Vehicle produces around 80-90% more carbon emissions than building a regular vehicle, not to mention the damage caused when mining the rare precious metals to make the batteries for the vehicles, and the fact the world is fast running out of the precious metals and minerals needed for EV batteries too. Fully synthetic fuel, Hydrogen, and also fuels made from waste, are the true fuels of the future I think. The world simply can't produce enough electricity to cope with absolutely everything being electric, Here in the UK, it said that if every vehicle on our roads was to be electric, we'd need 10 new nuclear power plants the size of Hinckley point just to cope with demand, and that just land transport alone. We need other solutions as well as electric, Toyota have come up with both the Ammonia combustion Engine and Hydrogen combustion engine, like we have today but with no Carbon emissions, Kawasaki Have developed the HySE, a Hydrogen combustion motorcycle, and Airbus are developing 3 different Hydrogen Aircraft, 2 hydrogen combustion Turbofan and Turboprop and 1 with fuel cell propulsion.

​@@quackatitYou're never going to run out of fuel in a regular aircraft, as you always put more fuel in than you need for the journey, so you've got extra fuel in case of emergency too. You can only fill a battery to 100%, and whatever range that gives you is all you have.

Not even that. Normally if a helicopter looses it's engines to some sort of defect, for example overheating, it can still rely on autorotation to land safely. In the case of this helicopter it has way too small rotors and can't make use of this feature. Real life example V22 Osprey. That's also the main reason why American presidents aren't allowed to fly with it due to limited safety measures if the engine cuts out
