This Fixed My Hamstring Injury, When Nothing Else Worked!

I used to think that the key to staying healthy was isolating muscle groups with specific activation exercises. It turns out I was wrong. Very wrong...

Here because I tore my hamstring, and not to burst your bubble 3 years later but I hope you’re not deadlifting anymore unless it’s light weight 😂 it doesn’t have benefits really at all and is almost as pointless as bench. When you get up to heavier weight the risk to reward is pointless. One movement with your body 1/100th of a percent out of alignment and you’re done for 4 months.

A while back I started heavy lifting a couple times a week in a fun bootcamp class. I cut back my running to 3x/ week for recovery, and after 3 months just adding weights, I'd shaved a minute per mile off!

Nice vid Nate, how were the DOMS after starting out those initial deadlifts? I find I will do 5 sets (of fairly light weight) and will suffer for days which impacts the running somewhat. I then don't do deadlifts for another couple of weeks :(

Reduce your reps and weight maybe 20% each. Consistency is key. Many new exercises are like this, we can do more but we should start reading into it and make it routine rather than overdoing it. For compound lifts especially, getting a good form is important and much easier if you are not at your upper limit.

Man its been 3 years and a month since I pulled my hamstring. I really don't even know how I did it! There was no single instance that I can remember that I felt it pull! I just woke up one day after hooping and it started. It sucks so bad! Im a runner too, and its hindered me from doing both! I can go and shoot around, but as far as quick running, nope! It definitely is kind of depressing not to be able to run! I have to try this! I would have to learn proper technique for squatting first. That would terrible if I hurt something else while trying to fix it! Thanks for the tip!

Is cortisol shot the same as prolotherapy ? Cause I’ve did prolotherpy before and it seemed like it worked what I mean by that the next day after I got the shot, I did a test to see if I could do my hamstring if it was good, the test was squatting down and touching my ankles and then like stretching or laying on my back and lift in my leg straight up not straight up. I’ve been in my knee and it felt like it did before I got injured but the thing I did was hurt I went outside and trained on it that same day and then I felt at the session I felt like it started to on glue or come apart and it started feeling like the same so yes, I was asking if Cortizone Cortizone shots are the same as phototherapy if you ever try prolotherapy.

@@Jblbluetoothh it’s really difficult man. Mine injured in 2021 of December and didn’t actually completely heal until recently this spring in 2023. I still have to strengthen the muscles through light leg exercise and stretching. What I suggest is stretching the muscle out, doing light exercise with it like leisurely walks, as well as just trying to focus on the muscle paij and avoid what feels like is straining it. If you have access to a physical therapist, go. That’s what really helped mine. Hope your heals soon bro 🙏

Full range calf raises too and also with weighted stretching and a good massage gun every night for a few weeks. My calves were extremely tight for about 2 years and this trio seemed to help. Also rolling your plantar fascia over a broom handle or stick that rolls underneath. Works a treat but will hurt like hell

@@deadwendy6870 The problem comes when i do those simple exercises, a 10kg goblet squat per example impacts my inner thighs up into groin for about 2 days. I suspect its because my pelvis tilts up (anterior) when i get to 90 degrees and stretches them. Maybe its just a matter of working on anterior and posterior flexibility and working between them to improve the range of motion.

And people think weight training is for "meat heat body builders" or strength athletes. Runners who don't weight train are like those what is it 80% of vegans who realize they are unhealthy and need to go back to eating meat. There is even people who say the deadlift is the most useless exercise that will cause injury. Any claims of anything are usually the extreme and somewhere in between most likely is the answer.
