The place my dad worked at used CD-I units for employee training. Somehow when ordering more units they ended up with X’Eys instead, so my dad brought one home to me. Loved that thing.

My favorite feature is that it uses the same double speed reader as the Sega Saturn, so it's very easy to find replacements in case the laser stops working.

I bought one from one of the gaming stores (Gamestop?) back in the day. It was on clearance for $100. And I got a bunch of Sega CD games for $5 a piece. I think I sold everything for like $75. Still kicking myself.

When I got into game/console collecting I ended up with one of these. Like you mentioned it was about the same price (maybe even cheaper then) to get this over a Genesis + Sega CD separately. Much cheaper back then though, I got it for about $100. I still have it now, one of favourites for sure

That X'Eye is huge

I got an X'Eye earlier this year, and I'm absolutely loving it! I always hated the idea of having to use more than one AC adapter for a single console just for a add-on, hence why I got this instead. I never had a Sega CD before, so I can finally play my copy of Sonic CD that's been sitting around the house for years.

I've had one for a long time. Very nice build quality and easy to repair. The audio quality on these is better than most Genesis models.

Excellent find my friend!!! I have the other incredible all-in-one Sega Genesis/Sega CD combination in our collection (CDX). I actually picked my CDX up way back in 2008 for the paltry sum of 25 dollars. Now, I have no idea what it's worth but as I'm a 5th generation collector I have never had the inclination to check.

Man saw that back in day and even bought it but I tried to put the Sega 32X adapter and the x eye wouldn't let it play. So even though back in the day cost me $50, I ended up taking it back.

I've never ever seen one. I heard about them back in the day, but I already had a Genesis Model 1 with a Sega CD model 1.

I understood about %75 of what this guy was talking about.

I had one! We got one from a rent to own place! We stop paying on it. We could play master system genesis and Sega cd..if u had 32x add ons you could play them too
