@@victuz Same, and I agree. They would have to balance the dark elves skills around that though, so that you lose their unique level 10 traits again upon respec. Currently you can abuse that with respec mods to get multiple of those traits

It'd be nice to be able to redistribute points on generals you receive from confederation. It seems like the AI literally do their best to ruin their legendary lords.

The crummy point distribution on wurrzag is probably from confed.

@@inerevaraskedforthis The issue is (presumably the ai) went super heavy into the red line, when typically you want to go for two, maybe three tops of unit types for it. That eats up between 3-6 extra points that could have gotten at the least lightning strike or possibly up to renowned and feared. Being able to on command eat a 4 army clump one fight at a time is a game changer (plus I think it causes a morale penalty for the ppl getting hit, which makes tough fights even easier) It would also leave a few potential points for better magic usage than what you are left with.

Some men have prejudices on the greenskins strenght until they conquer all the Badlands and the World's Edge mountains by turn 75 and the only dwarf faction remaining is Clan Angrund... but the Vaults are under siege

I don't get why Legend is still prejudiced to begin with, GS have been overpowered since W&P, and not just Grom. Granted, their *doomstacks* are limited, so maybe that's why because Legend loves doomstacks so much.. Pretty much every GS doomstack is reliant on Wurrzag or Grom's physical resist stacking. Da Immortulz cheese was pretty funny but ultimately fairly impractical. But it's so easy to just overrun your enemies with far more units than they can ever hope to deal with now, even if that doesn't fit the title of "doomstack"

Ye well the circumstances also relevant. You cant produce any of theese doomstacks on mass , most of their stacks are tied to 1 faction (in case broken axe is better than other orc factions) so while theese stacks are fun they are rather tedious to set up.

I think the problem is most of these stacks are hard to get and not replicable. Unlike for example a Stegadon stack which you can spam as much as your treasury allows.

@@Bubbl3Bubbl3gum It isn't nearly as terrible as it's supposed to be, like the Norscan economy. It's slightly below average, roughly on par with the vampirates, doesn't peak much, but doesn't suck before t4 either, like some mid-tier economies as Lizardmen and High Elves do. In a faction that has many +sack and +battle loot bonuses, gets confederation by force, and most importantly, free AI reinforcements on a press of a button. You can run crap gobbo stacks with a caster, and they will spawn full power AI armies. They have some cheap very cost effective units like the pump wagons. Greenskins are easy to play and strong after their update, they almost always tend to shaft Dwarfs in the post-Paunch era.

A few comments from the person who sent it in: -I created a doomstack test environment, since the lizardman forces are trapped in and dont dare to attack. With food buffs every army can be recruited in 2 turns. -It was intended to wait for them to group up and not use magic so that it is a real challenge -I sent in 4 more doomstacks (nasty skulker, arachnarok spider (maternal instincts) , rock idols (85% physical resistance by food and waahhg) and stone trolls) to fight against basically the same army, you can perfectly compare them to each other then. -Stone trolls get absolutly destroyed if they would face this enemy army. (I rebuild that army exactly and sent it in aswell) -Wurrzag is shitty because of the confed. Since i have no unit upkeep reduction it shows how cheap this army can be with Wurzzag. -I have 2 more doomstacks in planning: 90% physical res banshee spam and plague monks. (but need to get the campaign to the points where i can buidl that.

@@futonrevolution7671 definitly worse than this one. Though it heavily depends on how you play it, since you have stalk and vanguard deployment you can easily kill any reinforcement. The next army I sent in is a greenskin "weapon team" copying the skaven :D

I was so impressed by the stone troll doomstack that i started a 7th Grom campaign but never even managed to get to Wurrzags location. I feel like having to break Bretonnia early and High Elves constantly sending armies against you pins you down in that location.

This works fairly well anyway without Wurzagh, with berserk they have 62% phy resist as well as 8% ward save from the red skill tree making it 70% total.

@@aristotelsb8874 What I ended up doing is just basically abandoning the starting location and just rounding up the LLs by getting a stack that could beat Skarsnik and just working my way gathering those, finally ending in the Wastes.

The important part is that you get a stupid high charge bonus with savage orcs. So if you abuse that (and properly cycle charge) you can melt literally everything.

Just a note, Wuurzag's Waaagh also gives additional Physical Resistance 22%! So these guys are at the absolute cap when waaagh'd for Physical resist.

Never underestimate the power of a good Waagh

I finished a Grimgor campaign yesterday, and I think their economy is really underrated, especially once you get to the late game. While they won't be making as much tax money as other races, they make more money from post-battle loot and from looting/sacking settlements than almost any other race. About halfway through the campaign I reached the point where I was able to build every building possible every turn and still have money left over. The only other race I tend to ever reach that point with is Dark Elves.

ok, so story time, in my grom campaign, last defenders tried to start a feral carnosaur doomstack, they got to 8 and thought that would be enough to kill me, they were wrong, my gobbo crapstack kicked their asses. the end

I got to a point where there was no point in recruiting Orcs in a Grom campaign, because Goblins, and not Night Goblins, only regular goblins, out performed them in every category. Price, ease of recruitment, durability, and melee ability.

2:41 Imagine being that Lord coming onto the battlefield to help out your fellow allies, just to see well over a thousand giant orcs rushing towards you...

Grom's cauldron is just so good with Ork doomstacks.

Wurrzag can make lots of doomstacks. I prefer the stone trolls over this as it's better against magic attacks. The trick is to make doomstacks with the standard Greenskin lords. (Best is probably Arachnarok spam)

wurzag is just a crazily good lord. He has insane buffs to units, and is such a good caster because he can cast foot of gork for cheap, and has a bunch of other great effects.

Could all those extra points in the Red Line be from Confed'ing Wurzag? Since he's playing as Broken Axe after all.

Wurrzag is a top tier legendary lord

Love it when people bring simple and cheap doomstack on the table. Make grinding for it much, much easier.

Troll Hag for the extra replenishment would be good since there's so many models in the big un' stack.

throw in some savage orc big'un cav with the 152 charge bonus. they are like a lawn mower

Im pretty sure the way resistance works is that when damage is received it goes in order of highest resistance first to lowest. In this case im pretty sure the 65% phsyical resistance reduces the damage and then after the new damage is calculated then the 8% ward save reduces that new number further and then you're left with whatever after that point.

The order doesn't matter, it's a multiplication.

This and the lothern seaguard video need to be watched together.

In your opinion, which scrap upgrade would you put on the savage orcs? They seem to kill well enough without the weapon upgrade, so I usually but the missile resistance on it.

About the 20% physical resistance bonus that you can find in the sea, Greenskins can get it too. I had a Rogue Idol doomstack that reached the physical resistance cap with it (as Grom, because he boosts Rogue Idol with his recipie). Also... *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!*

Isn't this Army's main glaring weakness magic attack though? The moment they meet an army with a lot of magic attack (Cylostra gives her entire army magic attack for example) they will probably melt.

From the Icons they got, they also do have at least some measure of magic resist. Though... I dunno, Wurrzags's skill for giving the whole army magic attacks strips enemy armies of all magic resistence. Does Cylostras skill do that as well?

@@darthplagueis13 no, hers doesn't, it's exclusive to Wurzag AFAIK but losing all the physical resist will really hurt this army (lol). Still a strong stack just does have a glaring weakness but even then its rare to meet entire armies that have magic attacks.

the thing is, entire army magic attack is really rare. Black arks can get them, and cylostra, but I can't think of anyone else (apart from wurzag himself lel). Both of which are really far away from your starting position, and you don't really have any reason to fight. If it's not the whole army, then they can probably just focus down the unit or foot of gork it away before it does much damage.

@@sympunny8636 yeah of course, it's would be extremely rare as you say to encounter an army with enough magic attacks to really threaten this just its something you need to be aware of when using a stack like this. Despite Legend's hatred of them the Greenskins seems to be very doom-stackable especially when playing as Broken Axe and using Grom's cauldron to buff the requisite units and then confederating lirds like Wurzag and playing to their strengths.

Loved this one! Would really like to see you play it!

Orcs with scrap upgrades are way better than people think! Glad to see them getting love :)

i can see the potential in this although you have to play as Grom to get the cauldron effects. which is probably why Wurrzag is leveled up wrong, since he probably confederated him and he was already leveled a bit up.

16:20 Going against an all-magical attack army is also cool with Wurrzag because one of his skills strip the enemy army of all magical damage and bestow magical damage on his own units.

It doesn't, his skill strips enemies of magic resistance, not attacks. It also doesn't work at sea since it's a "local region" effect, so it wouldn't work on Black Arks

Haha this one reminds me of that time I used a similar stack with Wurrzag in a battle against Grimgor. Couldn't win it with autoresolve (was in Grimgor's favour highly) so tried playing it, just barely lost. Then I was thinking "I tried blobbing with Vampire Counts lately, couldn't it work here?" So I blobbed up my boyz with Wurrzag in the middle and casted stomp until we won, was hella funny lmao

I get so happy whenever Legendotw is amazed 13:14.

One of the few thread for such an army would be the sister of Avelorn doomstack due to magical damages

honestly as bloody handz savage orcs are a doomstack without wurrzag, they get powerful missile resist scrap upgrades an have even higher charge. you can also get the lizardmen waaaagh trophy relatively easily which throws it over the edge even more.

This one was surprisingly amazing, loved it and really fair rating too!

5:42 it does seem like they move out of the way alot more I used a flaming head against some vampire count Units that were like perfectly still and not doing anything and the second it cast they ran out of the way

Not to mention you can make them cost 0 to recruit and its available very early in the game, only requires a T3 settlement. I find the best way to use savage orcs is to put them in a locked line formation and just charge straight in, try to get as many 1v1s going as possible, because they just hit so hard.

I've used this doomstack many times, I feel validated now haha

This is peek ork logic, we have achieved monke' brain, in ways I cannot comprehend.

I tried doing a doomstack with this army before but didn't make it work. The thing I did wrong was mix in ranged savage orks and regular savage orks with some savage ork boar big unz. The other issue is that I didn't play it as Grom, but instead as Wurzzag.

You have access to regenerating, frenzied, opportunistic murder nasty skulkers with perfect vigor as Broken Tooth, that work well with Generic Gobo Shaman lords. Those are much better because Skulker will just climb over walls or flank and surround field armies and kill any enemy with a powerful "winning combat" and "stronger faster enemies nearby" leadership debuff loop. Much better at murdering single entities. And they are cheap and numerous with easy Turn 3 early game recruitment for the base unit and these units just get upgraded to be in near final as you get different ingredients, research, red line, waagh trophies, etc. Late game you can literally have as many stacks of them as you want with the Shaman on the spider being siege attacker and caster.

I think this will struggle with the empire. Hell Strom rocket Battery.

On Legendary VH the primary concern of a doomstack needs to be upkeep. That's why I give this one 11/10. Morathi and 19 heroes for like 500 total army upkeep is 12. It's why I use a mostly Corsair stack with Felhart into the late game. My LL fields my worst army but it can hold it's own 1v1 and is cheap as chips

I've had the AI use this exact doom stack against me before when I was playing Dwarves. It was still early game so the best thing I had was long beards. Wurzag walked right through me and sacked all my cities. I thought damn, I'm starting a campaign and copying the AI. Got crushed by the first goblin army I came up against and rage quit.

if you opened up by just rushing the main army and atack the side army with magic this would even more effectiv

This is one of those situations where they think it works and so it does.

Other thing that's missing is defence against mass artillery. If this army was against 6 helstorm rocket batteries it would've been very painful unless wasting all their ammo on wurrzag

Honestly the physical resist would've been made it fine even without wasting ammo. Just don't blob up against them, and they can't do much damage to that much resist.

Since he's playing broken axe wurrzag will inevitable use of a handful of his own skill points.

I think this could be improved with some Savage Orc Arrer Boyz.

He confederated Wurzag, which is why there was a lot of waste in the red line.

i know this is 6 months old, but if you still havent figured it out, you just click the spell icon twice. you do need to have the spell upgraded with skill points first I think. Its usually not worth doing unless you have unlimited winds of magic, it gives very little bonuses.

the real question is... when is legend going to make balanced/fun campaign armies?!

Fun is subjective. I don't find balanced armies fun for example. Plus he's done that a lot in the past ( the balanced fetish you go about ), if you haven't seen it just go back to his oldest streams.

By whose standard? This is how he's played for his entire adult life, so it's obviously fun for him. The people who demand "balance" from him constantly move the goalposts. "But , Legend, magic is cheeeeese!"

I missed regular doomstacks. Nice and quick and much more interesting imo

The problem with greenskins is that late game you can only do this kind of things with Wurzhag playing as Broken Axe... Other armies can be decent (Grom´s gobbos, Grimgor Immortals, Azhag Big Uns) but you are going to struggle to produce doomstack on mass.

I don't think it'd really help much. These basic savage orcs are so powerful they barely need perfect vigour, because everything just dies to them easily. The black orc big bosses wouldn't get the same physical bonuses however, so if anything it might reduce your score. Better just to save the heroes for other armies.

Well... This is a Broken Axe campaign. To get Wurrzag you gotta confederate and by the time you can reach him as Grom he's gonna be like at least lv. 15 already. So I dunno if this can all be blamed on choices the person who made that stack made.
