Same applies to people. Products that claim to be for a certain type of hair don’t help everyone with that type of hair; you have to play around until you figure out what’s best for your own hair. It’s not just texture, it’s also density, thickness, porosity, etc.

@@s.b.5259 Um, there are differences between hair and fur, you know. Yes, scientifically/chemically speaking they are both made of keratin and grow from hair follicles, but beyond that there are numerous important differences. I don't have time to go into it all right now, but you can google it. And while you're at it, look into whether or not it's a good idea to shave dogs, and in particular double-coated dogs. Spoiler: It's not, for several different reasons. If you were trying to defend your own practice, then I feel bad for your dogs.

@@TieDyeVikki lol go find a scientific study about shaving double coated dogs. There are none and the only place you will find anything is groomer blogs. Yeah, my thoughts exactly. It's funny... I watch a channel with a very high content wolfdog and a husky (both house pets), and just yesterday I saw someone comment that the wolfdog needs a groom, but that maybe they just think that because they've been watching Girl With The Dogs, and then went on to say that Vanessa probably wouldn't want to deal with either of them. I replied that she'd definitely take the husky, and she says she gives everyone a chance, and I bet she'd take a low-content or well-socialized wolfdog, but I'm not sure about Kane (he's skittish around strangers plus doesn't like his feet touched)... I said she has muzzles and can hook him into her groomer's helper equipment, but his sheer strength might be too much for that... I also said she sometimes uses an assistant, but that might not be too helpful in his case, unless maybe his owner stayed to assist. But he doesn't need a groom anyway, because his owner keeps him brushed, especially when he blows his coat in the springtime. Anyway, what a coincidence that I just said yesterday that I could see her taking certain wolfdogs, and now today it seems she may have (even if she didn't know it)!
I bet Sophie's owners are glad they did travel that long to have her groomed by you, I'm sure they're very greatful.....I lost it when Sophie looks over at you covered in her undercoat and squeals! That reaction was pure gold!

@@doczspec4502 Huh? Floof is not dangerous stuff. What the hell is wrong with you? Your damned ancestors wore whole pelts so they could survive and spawn your prissy butt.
I don’t even have a pet, but I love watching your videos!💜

If you can provide for it, consider getting one. It’s lovely.

I have a parrot and they love to take baths and clean themselves, but I love watching doggies getting groomed 😅 they're so sweet, but I can't when they act as if they're dying 😂

Me three! 😀
Literally the goodest dog ever on this channel. Spent so long being brushed and cleaned up, sitting or standing for a long time for a dog with surgically repaired legs, only wimpered, never barked or lashed out
You're worth the trip Vanessa! Im sure they were honored to have you properly groom Soapy & do a diagnostic on her beautiful coat! She did look loike a 3 hr goom! Just lovely!💕💕
I bet her owners felt the drive was even more worth it being able to learn what caused her coat damage and were able to learn how to repair the damage. The end results on soapy are amazing!
Wow, that dog is *really* a lot of work! $350 for 3.5 hours seems a real bargain for the owner.
“Backbreaking” I’m weak 😂
It's great how sensitive and knowledgeable you are to the condition of your doggy clients. Great job. Soapy looks like a cross between a husky and the Hound of the Baskervilles.
Will Soapy's coat be able to recover and be repaired from past damage? How wonderful that her owners were willing to travel so far to make sure she got the grooming she needed. She's beautiful.

If there's no localised alopecia, it'll.

If it's properly cared for going forward, eventually the damaged hair will shed out. But it takes a long time.
There is so much fluff. She's mixed with a cloud.shes precious. You did an amazing job she looks so pretty
So kind and gentle Vanessa, you could see the relief on plupps face ❤
I have no experience with double-coated dogs. I had no idea their coats could be damaged in that way. Fascinating!!😊❤
I want to say that the whining was from Soapy's fear that you would do what her previous groomers had done, but as you were giving her her blow dry and brushing, it looked like she felt a lot better. The before and after shots are amazing, and this is one beautiful dog!
OK let's give this Girl pet groomer of the Year Award 🏆👍🐕 This transformation was increíble, you are amazing Soapy 🤩
She looks amazing & I can tell she feels better! What do you for them isn’t just grooming the outside you help them inside too.
Kudosto the groomer: highly professional and excellent work ethic! Thank you for helping this poor doggy!
German Shepard perhaps 🤔 The picture of you and Sophie at the end, covered in dog hair - PRICELESS!!! 😂😂😂

What catches my attention on Soapy are the floppy ears. All the breeds I've seen in the comments have pricked ears... 🤔
I love how you educate while you entertain. I'm not a dog person (I'm a cat person), but I like dogs and I love watching your channel. It's soothing, in many ways, and watching your patience with the animals is calming.

@YasmineGalenornOfficial I'm a 'cat-person', _too._ As for animal videos, I pretty much only watch _this_ channel, and 'Hope For Paws' (animal rescues, mostly stray/homeless dogs). Anyways, about a year ago, 'Girl With The Dogs' groomed a Husky named 'Fredo'. I fell in love with Fredo, lol. 💗 He's hilarious. You may have seen his video already but in case you haven't, the title of the video I'm referring to is "Hilarious dramatic Husky throws a temper tantrum". During the blow-drying scene, Fredo is 'singing the song of his people' and it sounds like he's yelling 'Help me !" over & over. (Huskies are very 'vocal', as you probably know.) 😂
She’s gorgeous
Soapy is beautiful! You’ve got the magic touch and the right attitude!
