Al watched you rework those feeders. Like the new idea of the metal grate. An even better solution I think would have been to also make the feeder narrower at the bottom so the hay would all be accessible to the goats. As it is now the feeder will fill will hay that they can't reach. Most mangers I've seen have this angle to them. Just a thought. Enjoying your videos and look forward to seeing them every time. Keep up the good job.

You need a roof extension over the outside hay feeder so the goats will be able to come out at least that far out on a rainy day.

I think the reason that they did not waste in the old feeder was because they left their heads in it the whole time they were eating. I think the new feeders were not deep enough for them to put their whole head in and still see out the other side. Like it is too close to the wall. I hope the wire helps.

I think that they also might be so used to eating in the natural head down position in the old feeder that they are pulling it out so they can drop their heads while they eat.

The mesh seems way too small for the goats to get their head inside to eat . The hay will not 'feed or fall' to the front of the feeders, it will need to be pulled forward manually.

I've noticed it in a couple videos now, your mixer needs some attention/maintenance. A little deconstruction and some food grade grease will quiet it down, protect it from overheating damage and extend the life of it's gears. It would make a great rainy day indoor project, and you could film it and teach everyone.

Great job on the hay feeders. The boys are always chillaxing, they seem well settled in. I haven't been watching you all for all that long but it looks like Olivia has grown a foot. Quite jealous of your weather this morning it started out at 85 degrees with 80% relative humidity, it was 97 degrees by noon, heat index 107 in the shade. Brisk mornings don't happen for us until November. Great video thanks for sharing your homestead with us, Jimmy

LOL Today I cooked a pot of beef stew, turned the computer on & here you are doing the same. For you, the weather is getting cooler, and for me the weather is staying the same here in Thailand.
