Bore small holes in the deck to let any grass seeds in the hay fall through , they will add to your pasture in the spring
Al. Watching you mix up the goats food was like watching an artist at work. And your goat feeder, another masterpiece. Serious man. You are one with your farm. So cool. All the best brother.
Little man is doing great with the other boys! Loving those shelves in the feed room and the awesome new hay feeder. Y'all are a great team! 3, 6, 9, This life we live is so sublime. Be Blessed!

Feeder looks great, good job Al and Gina. Have a blessed day.
I do not blame Gina for not wanting to do roof work, I have yet to finish the video of You finishing the roof on the barn Al, Heights are just not on my list! SCARY.!! But I did learn that their are magnet boots for aluminum or steel roof workers, I found that interesting..Haha, incriminating goat prints everywhere, too funny.!!. Great job on the feeder!! You know, I can not tell you how many homesteading channels I subscribe to..There are Many!..By far, I really enjoy your videos the best..Even on days that don't don't well (i.e. broken counter, Hot dogs) Your family bring so much Joy no matter what..Thank you for sharing!!
How soon before little P poops in the tray and they all start avoiding it and complaining LOL

Arms Family Homestead howdy Daniel!
I'm in Minnesota and we just had freezing temps in the negative teens and now we are in for a nasty snow storm predicting up to a foot of snow over the next 24-36 hrs. Buckle down and get ready for it cause it's heading your way.
Hey Al and Gina, we woke up today at -2 feels like -10 17 Jan and later today in for a winter snow storm into Saturday, with winds 40 to 50 miles per hour. I sure hope it by passes us again. Nice goat feeder
Good mauhnin Lumnah Acres! Hay feeder is a big success! The girls love it! Can’t wait to see what you are up to next! Oh the anticipation! Lol! Stay warm and take care!
A polar blast. The coldest place on earth for the past few days was Edmonton Alberta. Over minus 50 degrees Celsius. Compared to that its spring time by you there. Lol
Feed your chickens some greens and they will lay more eggs for your winter feasts! Good stuff folks!
Good morning Lumnah Acres Thank God we. Are little cooler 57* wishing it was like this Most Of the time The new feeder looks great 👍
Lumnah acres, single handedly keeping 2x4 manufacturers in business! I LOVE IT! Awesome job to both of you! I may have to copy this one 😂
Gooood morning Al. I got up at 04:00 to watch Lumnah Acres show, so coffee is in hand Sir and it’s time to do this. Have a blessed day.
That's a sharp feeder you guys! 13° here finally. Our ground was not freezing and giving me headaches. Doc says I'm allergic to the bacteria in the mud. I didn't realize when moving to the valley that they don't freeze up like on top😜. Have a good weekend we might even get some snow! JO JO IN VT 💕☃ 😊
Looks like there's room to add another panel to each side of the boys' feeder's roof so they don't get wet. 💜🌞🌵

Your construction is impressive. It's better than Amish made. It's Lumnah made!
You guys are awesome. I love watching you create and build things. I’m an older lady, who do not do any like that at all, I love watching you. You do amazing work and end up with amazing creations. Keep on building, and I will keep on watching. 🔨🔧🧰🛠⚙️🔩🚪🤗
I love watching you and Gina work together. You make the most fanciest looking farm equipment!
This is nice! The grain can fall down below the hay. We live in Gainestown Alabama and it is 73 here today, low tonight is 55. It is suppose to be in the 30 Sunday night, and high of 60! That is cold to us! I can't imagine having any weather below 20
The goat hay feeder looks very cool! Love how we will do anything for our animals and pets :D Good work Lumnahs! :D
I love that feeder. I want to build one when I get my goats so I will be watching the videos a thousand times. Thanks, Al and Gina
Great feeder think about adding gutters for a rain water catch system on one end.

Excellent idea! Easy to do for any roofed structure really.
Ha! I'm with you Gina, no high places. You stay on the ground and cut boards and pass them up. Great job both of you on the hay feeder.
Am addicted to your channel!
Looks totally awesome. A family that works to together prays together. Will always be together. All Gina Olivia and all your anmals. Thanks for sharing.
Hope is pure perfume to the bucks. She is so sweet! I discovered you due to her. I’m so glad I did!!! I just love you all!
We have snow/ice/rain coming in this weekend. It will be cold but don't think it is supposed to be a Polar Vortex. Hate those! We've actually had a mild winter so far, even though we have gotten some snow, it hasn't lasted because we warm up. Been in the 50's and some 60's, almost 70! So I can't complain to much about the temps. I do hate the back and forth in temps though, the body just can't adjust. The hay feeder looks great and it looks like the kids love it too. Well done you two!
If you had a few coffee cans with lids, you could pre make all the morning feed for the goats. Could make a weeks worth in a few minutes. Would save you time each morning.
Oh that littl'p jumping right in the feeder!😀
Another good job but you always do good work you and them Mrs. that’s why I keep watching so keep up the good work work God bless
The video quality are getting better, perfect on my tv.
I'm in Ma, we are getting it too! Means homemade soup and sandwiches! Keep a body warm!
hello, you can screw some vertical bars into the goat controller to prevent the goats from entering the feeding compartment as one of the goats did.
Gina, your french braids look beautiful! And your BEST DIY portable HAY FEEDER w/ ROOF is looking great!
Yes we have one coming, and the bad news is that it's been so warm that I will have some pears beginning to bloom when it gets here. They are forecasting 26F. If it's no colder than that the flowers and advanced buds just might be OK.

@@LumnahAcres it is, but good news is that these particular two pear trees are very old, probably seedling but very good, and while they are so low chill that they often bloom too early, somehow they don't usually get yacked. But we only go below 26F about every other year. That's the magic temperature where I have to pick the citrus that's still on my trees or loose it.
I love that design! My husband is planning on building one like that once he finishes with our butchering shed
It’s so refreshing to see happy people and happy animals. You’ve probably been asked this question 100 times what do you do with your goats
The new hay feeder looks great.
Thanks for sharing your projects with us!
If you add an abrasive texture to an area that the goats frequent, it will promote healther hoofs. The ramp would be a good spot.
Your farm is beautiful....thank you for sharing.
Nice done! You really build the nicest stuff with wood, and put far more care than something commercially made would have. You both did fantastic with the new portable hay feeder with a roof!
Good morning Al, temps in Cleveland 25 feels like 16 cold cold..... " Sheila "
The hay feeder turned out awesome!!
Love your goat herd. Can't wait to see the new babies this year.
Your homestead looks nice. You are truly an artisan and you have a talented wife. Your building projects are awesome besides functional.
You have to have some of the best built projects on your modernstead. I love watching you and DIYfferent build stuff. ❤️
Thanks for the idea. I need to make one for my goats and sheep
Yes, that's one beautiful feeder. Nice work.
Wonderful project! Loved it! They will enjoy it for years to come!💕
you are very fortunate to have a mate that is cute as a speckled puppy but does not let it go to her head. she is at your side on your projects and not hold up in the house acting like the world cannot go on without her.......g
Al you sure are an awesome builder. I don’t think there is anything you can’t build. Love the goat feeder. Can’t wait to see what Gina has up her sleeve with the pallet.
The three amigos rocks !
I think it's high time that 9 got some appreciation! Eight get's all of the love while Nine is left out in the cold. Good for you!!
Just finished watching this video and really enjoyed how well you guys work together.
Here in Michigan we are supposed to get the cold and snow this weekend. The feeder looks great Al and Gina. God Bless.

Another great project...you make it look so easy!
This is absolutely stupendous, Al! You and Gina make a great team!
Fantastic job. I really love all your DeWalt tools. You and your family are the best
Good job you guys! It's beautiful! And, fun to watch!
It's nice to see Gina just driving the screws in instead of using multiple trigger pulls. This seemed to have happened during this video. Now she's really using it as a screw driver!
I’m sitting here in western Illinois under 2 in of snow topped by 1/8 in of ice and it’s still misty/raining. Waiting on the polar vortex to drop temps to near zero. 😕 But I so look forward to watching your family and especially your goats(Hope’s my favorite).
Shouldn't that be the three amigoats?

Nice Buffet for your sweet babies! Great job!
i was brought up on a farm in England, when we cut hay bales, we always cut the bale twine at the knots, you then can use again for all sorts of jobs

Looks Great! 👍 Have a perfectly wonderful day!! 3-6-9 The goose drank wine (from The Clapping Song)
Great job on that feeder for the goats. You could make money just building things like that for other home steaders. I'm enjoying being back. Do you have a major build planned for Spring, such as was the barn. I'm loving your channel. Back to watching daily. This Spring I plan to make some of your projects for our place.
Nice job on the feeder! I’m getting some good ideas for us.
The feeder is working well and the girl are already taking to it. Wondering what Gina's new project will be.
Awesome build you two!
Nice feeder! Looking forward to seeing what your next project will be.
Al, you have a full-time job just building things on the farm! As I watched I was thinking about my Dad, who could build or repair whatever was needed (house, boat, parts for old cars, etc). Then I thought about some of the guys I've had in my life, who couldn't screw in a lightbulb without a team to help them...and my late husband, who not only had all kinds of impressive tools, but knew how to use them. On top of that, there were no complaints when I asked him to fix or create something for me...he would immediately go to his workshop, whistling happily as he accomplished the task. Those of us who possess no mechanical skills whatsoever appreciate those who do.
Looks like a saver of hay. Nice job.
It turned out looking awesome! Now I’ve got to build one for my Capra hircus family! 👍🏻👍🏻
That is a really nice hay feeder. Should save a lot of feed.👍🏻
According to my mathematical analysis you have used 487 screws to build that feeder lol. That workbench has really helped. 😁🇨🇦 Cheers
Love that you have a big garage door to pull it through. Looks good friends.
Goat feeder looks great!
The goats can't leave the path.... The snow is lava 😉😛
Great Hay Feeder, especially since it was all just in your head. You and your wife did a great job. Stay warm. We have a cold snap coming this weekend here in Florida, not suppose to get above 50. ;)
Did you look inside the coop for yesterday's eggs? You had left the nest box door down. That is a schnazzy hay feeder! LOL, Little P is always in the feeder! Blessings to all.
Love when Al is shown pulling his latest project out of the barn Makes me think of the film about a Time Machine being towed. I am also married to a cabinet maker ,so know the feeling of pride and accomplishment.

Yes I love your new hay feeder...
gooood mornin Al, and all the other modernsteaders. its a beautiful, partly sunny 21°F outside here this morning, 72°F inside the cave in my cube. The atomic clock shows 9:45 in Al's neck a the woods, My coffee is good~n~hot, sweet and light, Just like the better 1/2 😎! dad always said I should learn to drink it black, may do that someday . Al, good job on the hey feeder! looking forward to the next project foshizzle, Everyone have a great day & a better tomorrow. I got some traveling to do. See y'all back in the future.
I love watching y’all build things! You make it look easy. What’s the next project?😊❤️
Not bad looks good serves it's purpose. Good job you left the gate up so they could lay their eggs. I hope you and your family have a great day
Love the teamwork you have. That is a true strong loving marriage. Respect for each others talents and opinions. Your carpentry skills are fantastic. G-D Bless both of you and your family.
you had to know that little P would jump up INTO the new hayfeeder. the new babies will too. thats why Kevin (weed em and reap) made the hanging one. for just that reason. you will constantly be cleaning it. i would put a hook on one end and keep a small broom or brush hanging on it. or a dustpan, you have a lip there on the edge so you may need a scoop instead. nice to see eggs, it works if you open the door. lol looks great, and anyone saying that hayfeeder is too big has not thought of the fact that every goat there is either bred or is going to be bred. 7 quickly turns into 14+. this way they have room to grow and not fight so much. also, it was 70 degrees here near houston texas today. will look to see if we have a cold front coming in.
Over here in the uk we have a water based clear liquid that’s called Thomson water seal you could water proof all your timber that comes in contact with animals outside to prolong the life
Feeder looking great but I would have notched the centre brace so it fitted around upright and was in line with uprights on the feeder sides. Loks great
The hay feeder is cool!! Oh and about the polar blast, yep, where I live an arctic blast is moving in as i right this. Love your videos!!
Your hay feeder will be perfect out in the pasture! Are you making a Sleigh out of the skid for the barn wood!?!?
