This disc made me learn that throwing hard doesn't mean throwing far. Back when info on how to disc golf wasn't as widely available.

Archangel is such an underrated disc. Westside Underworld works similar for me.

My underworld is tame compared to the archangel.

Man when I was new to playing, (in the mid to late 90s) the Archangel was the first disc I felt like I could get any decent distance with. But it got so beat in so fast, I was only really able to get like two or three weeks with it.

If ya want something similar that actually flips right away and is easier to get in premium plastic, a Latitude 64 Diamond is such a fun, super flippy option.

The utility of a diamond is great when you need to lean-out a patent-pending. It's nearly all wrist power and a disc like the diamond can turn with that casual of power. Underrated

I've been watching you for months and just realized that I wasn't subscribed. My bad man. Keep up the great work. I love my archangel 165g. You may also want to check out the sidewinder dx plastic. It’s flippy but a good disc as well.

You REALLY need to try a star sidewinder. You'll be surprised how far it can go.

You should get your hands on a Westside Underworld or Hatched for some super flippy and glidy discs. Great for rollers both of em.

when i started i had a pro leopard, and then my 2nd was a 150g archangel! talk about the quickest way to learn huge hyzer flips as a beginner! I will always own one, but currently bag a DD witness since it comes in a premium plastic.

My son has a Mamba and I have an Orbital for our super flippy discs. They do open up different possibilities for sure.

I have a 16x gram Archangel. It was the first driver I used when I started. It beats in super fast. Use it for 3 months then do a follow up video. It flips on anything farther than 100’. I also live in Denver at elevation.

Another vote for a Star Mamba. You can throw it with 45* of hyzer and it'll not only flip up flat, if you hit it hard it'll still turn and push a full flight. It is my favorite low ceiling tight gap in the woods disc. With a little less power you still get that flip up but it'll push 300-350 dead straight. I find it so much easier to hit really tight gaps off the tee with the hyzer too for some reason.

I love the archangel. The flight, for those who are new to throwing something understable like this, can be different on every throw. It is almost impossible to keep it flat after throwing it, for beginners. But ive thrown this disc further than my blizzard champion Katana that's 137 grams. The archangel i throw is 157. Light and wild! It also has made it through some insane lines for me when i point it down an alleyway of trees.

I have a beat up dx Sidewinder which has saved me so many strokes. So flippy it turns if I putt with it. Rollers, uphill bad stance shots, patent pending shots, stuff like that. And it's really fun. Even grenades that go a TON to the right

If you haven't yet Anthony pleeeeease try the Mamba! You can find it in star plastic as well as champion (I bag star). It's 11 6 -5 1 but don't let that -5 fool you. It's understable but not nearly as understable as you'd expect (I'd say it's closer to 11 6 -3 1 out the box). This disc taught me how to hyzer flip and I'm not talking little baby hyzer angle I'm talking like reeeeeally hyzer flip haha. And it really shows off that 6 glide when you have a low ceiling and you absolutely need to keep the disc within 6 feet of the ground for 350+ feet. Hope you had an amazing Christmas! My mamba is the easiest hyper flip disc in my bag. It will hold a straight line forever or take a huge turn depending on how you throw it. Also the peka peka is similar but a 10 speed.

The mamba is definitely the faster version of the archangel. Took me a few throws to hyzer flip it properly without going into a roll. Once i did, it went 30o feet with little effort.

I used this as my big distance disc when I started playing. Since I use a infinite Sphinx and discraft heat.

Kudos to playing with a disc that many have bought and shelved. When my son started playing, he was hyzering every shot he threw, so a local retailer suggested the Archangel. Instead of flying immediately left, it just went right and never came back. He still loves his understable discs (Pearl, Diamond) but I am not a fan. Keep up the content.

I THOUGHT I RECOGNIZED THAT COURSE! I played there like 5 times when I was in Orlando a few weeks ago for work. Super fun course with countless layout options

Fun to see you play my home courses. Your camera work makes that tiny dump look really great haha. Shot my best round at 10 down there this year. Also, you forgot hole #10 which is from hole #9 over the brush to the practice basket

Pearl is sweet for slow, tight anny approaches. Really helpful when the other-side hyzer isn't available (lean out from rough, usually)

I have a couple Innova stingrays I throw. It’s a driver mold 4/5/-3/1. I love this disc. My beat in one is super floppy and I have 2 new ones that still have the fade.

I've bagged an Archangel for awhile and it is a pretty sweet disc.

I think the disc you were expecting going into this video is the westside hatchet. It's a 9 6 -2 1, but flies more like a -3 or -4 turn. It's a fantastic roller disc.

Dude I keep coming back to the channel - more and more entertaining every time you post. Best of all I am learning from you. Foot fault on 9 ;P

You should try the Innova IT, it is very similar to the archangel but you can find it in premium plastic

I'm telling you try a DX thunderbird. Can't 4hand it. But great for winter 85% hyzer backhand. Pops to flat finishes straight and flat so it don't skip. Little drift right but don't turn over. 350ft. I've had 5 ofem. Orange and Pink were the Best

Another cool shootout would be the river against the innova hawkeye. I don't have one myself but from what I've seen the flight numbers are the same except for the glide (hawkeye has a 5 glide)

165-170g Tournament Underworld is the best flippy 7 speed and my favorite 9 speed is a 168ish gram star sidewinder. Both have late flip on a slight hyzer.

I got an Axiom Insanity for Christmas. Never would've picked it myself, but I forced myself to use it. It has me intrigued in some new lines I can try with it.

My first disc was a DX Valk, unfortunately I lost it and when trying to find a suitable replacement I found the Archangel. Didn't throw it for long, but did get 3 aces within a few months with that mold. 2 of them were during the same round. This year I've gotten 0 aces, maybe I should start bagging it again.

Very fun disc to throw there is no doubt about that!

The DGA vortex is extremely slept on, if you end up looking for a different mold I highly recommend it for that utility understable slot

Please do a bag it or bin it for the Innova Jay & Innova it they bother came out recently & I would love to see a view om both discs Or a discraft mantis that Paul uliiberry mentioned alot.

I had an archangel like 15 years ago I think it was a se ..special edition... was the first disc I learned to throw strait back hand with. After I hit a few trees though it got REALLY flippy. Spike hyzer rollers flippy.

With the Dx plastic I was surprised how stable it was flying. I’m assuming it was the weight. It could have been the specific run.

The archangel taught me a lot. I don't bag it anymore but I'm curious what would happen if I pulled it out again. Let's see how you handle the Roadrunner ;)

I don't throw Innova much, but I do love the feel of DX plastic. I wish it didnt warp after hitting 1 tree. I find a disc I like, I hit a tree, it turns into a completely different disc.

On the first cold day this year in Texas, I spilt my dx plastic archangel in HALF when I hit a tree. Lol!

I have two aces. One in 2002 or 2003, the second in 2020. Both with the same Archangel.

I have a beat in beast that I treat like this disc. Throw hard for a hyzer flip, or throw 80% to have a nice easy accurate straight disc

My max weight archangel felt more like -2.5 brand new, but then -4 once it beat in(2x18holes)

It is my wife’s favorite disc. I’ve been hunting for one in Star or GStar for years. Really wish someone would do what Ledgestone does and run unique plastics for Innova molds.

Unfortunately the only other plastic they make Archangels in is XT, but those are pretty rare.

Noticed you're using a Discology bag in this one! Thoughts about the bag, or do you have any recommendations?

Flight is similar to my big Z heat but I bet when it breaks in good it will be more flippy than my roadrunner.

Almost halfway through the video and just waiting for you to crank it and have it soar off screen. I have a Diamond that if I put any power into becomes a roller. It's not max weight though. Maybe I should try that out.

I just put my esp Heat back into the bag. I used to use it when I first started but grew out of it (figured out how to throw flat). But now I want a roller or major uphill disc.

I just bought esp heat. Trying to figure it out. It's kinda like the hades when it turns over it don't come back. Champion mamba comes back at the end every time on spike hyzer release 400 ft

I've been playing with a heat as my workhorse all summer. The esp has a slower turn to me and I leaned into the z for the controlled flip and rides. Went out in about 22°f the zflx was flying the same as always. My buddy called it easy golf, snow, poor footing, I call it geezer golf. I really have been loving that US slot but it takes a while to learn how they respond at different levels of power. And the wind, it can make little mistakes hurt pretty bad

@@mikedoyle9934 yeah any amount of headwind (2mph) will make us too Flippy. I like throwing my destroyer into a headwind on a flex line that's the only way I can get over 400ft unless it's a left to right and I turn a us over but that doesn't count.

I used to bag one these but since ditching Innova it had to go. Loved this disc for awkward forehand approaches when I needed to flex a disc but finish right(I'm lefty).

I think it's a great beginners disc

...right off the bat you answered that It's still in only DX. There is another one only in DX that you can complement it with; The Viking, I want the Viking to be good... //Swedish non-Viking :P Would like you to hit some more metal with it to get you to call out the quick demise of DX new to DX unusable flippy (for me my DX Valkyrie, first disc not a starter set) but you just throw to good for it to happen in just one round ;)

Well the most flippy disc i have is the discmania active Sun Crow ( i guess its called Genius now?) its really beaten in so its really too flippy for me now =)

Roadrunner? It's a -4/1 and is actually available in multiple plastics and only one speed higher. My most flippy disc I have currently that actually gets thrown is probably an Avenger SS. I have a Paradox in there, but I never seem to reach for it.

Tried a Sonic? It's the balance to my A2 for approach. Same concept, different slot!

NGL, when I got back into disc golf the Archangel was my farthest flying driver for a while. I'm also 45 and have a noodle arm though...

I am a beginner and I got a -5 disc (divergent tiyanik, fairway driver) and it is the most confusing disc to throw for me. One throw it won’t flip up and the next it completely turns over and spikes into the ground.

weird! When I have issues like that it's normally related to the nose angle I release it on. If I release nose up, it won't turn but if I get the nose angle right or even too far down (see my last drive on hole 9) it will turn and burn!

Want a crazy flippy disc? Try the wild honey from clash discs...it's so flippy since the remold

For reference a 9, 5, -4, 1 disc is the equivalent of a 5, 4, -2, 1 disc. This is my understanding anyway!

I had an archangel and it never flipped. I gave it away then when I got better at making discs flip I got it back, and it still wouldn't flip for me, so I gave it away again.

I just bought an H7 in the 500 plastic 9 5 -4 1. You might like it better I hate the feel of dx plastic

H5 is my roller. Throw it hard and flat or high on hyzer and it lands on perfect roller angle every time

The yikun jiao is way more flippy than even a diamond.

@@danielhicks5031 biggest thing for me was feeling comfy in the hand. I personally like a little glidier putter but those are the main things I think about - how glidy do you like and how does it feel in your hand!

I'm on my second max weight Archangel and neither were flippy. Usually straight lazers with minimal flex. Maybe x/x/-1/0 definitely not x/x/-4/0
