Something being made of plastic is fine. It is the quality of plastic that matters. A nice strong solid plastic can make things feel good and rigid for longevity as opposed to the cheap plastic used for throw away toys.
I've been using Elgato's StreamDeck for macros. Would love to see a side-by-side with pros/cons between these two for both productivity and leisure
Musician here. Couldn't have imagined midi controllers being used that way. Mind-blowing, thanks for the video.
But how do u get the set up so clean. where did u get your inspiration for the whole set up and how can i grow my setup
Keep up the good work man I love your vids!

Do you have a link or resources on how you create all the custom actions? I’m really struggling to do that.
Can you review ones that hinder productivity??
Keep up the videos, they are awesome! Would you mind making one about software solutions? I have a raspberry-pi screen similar to what you did in a previous video, and although I love it and use it a lot, its not as good as it could be. I want a program that can bring me the functionality from an elgato or loupedeck into a screen. Thank you!

Thanks for watching! I'm working on a "mini monitor vol 2" video where I hope to cover some productivity tools for small screens just like you described.
An (old) phone with Touch Portal works very well also. Top flexibility for much less money, and you can even create faders and control MIDI :)
Does it have onboard memory so you can plug it in to another computer and use without drivers?
Another cool video!!

Thanks man!
Honestly, this is a budget version of the flagship device. Feel like you should review that one. I personally use the contour shuttle V2. It works well, but I always wondered how using one of touch screen interfaces could be good for lower priority shortcuts. I think for any Adobe products the contour is probably the best when paired with a gaming mouse. 3D connexion makes another interesting interface, but doesn't seem like a lot of people are using it for Adobe apps, more for 3D rendering

The good thing about the Shuttle V2 is that you can use it without even looking at it. You just need to memorize what button has what function bound to it. The wheel and inner wheel are also better for video editing than knobs. I would never replace it with a macro pad.

@@Linuxdirk very true indeed
can this be programmed to type in different codes per key?
Amazing
an old phone and the use of macro deck software is also a good cheap way to get into this.

could you use an Iphone? or would Android be okay?
Hi Nick, what’s the new ergonomic keyboard you have please?
@WorkFromHype

Hey Nik! It's the Akko Alice Plus. It's my first ergo keyboard and I really like it. I do kinda wish it was wireless but otherwise it's solid. I give an overview in my 2023 desk setup video if you're interested. Thanks for watching!

Hmmm. Nice. Checking your list, how come you don't have the link to your keyboard? 🤔

It's called the Akko Alice Plus. Thanks for the catch! I'll add the link.
I'd pay double the price for high quality brushed aluminum build.
The touch screen is a deal breaker! It would have been really nice if they built it with physical buttons. Dynamic mode is what makes me want to buy it.
Anyone used this gadget with 3D software? I own the Xencelabs version and has been hit and miss. Could this be a potential better option?
I am looking for something like this, but for me, I can't use it. No Linux support.
how do you rotate the whole interface? please~

Okay I worked it out finally! You have to assign the "rotate display" to a dial and you will find the options in "Loupedeck Display Rotation" in the side bar, where you drag all your actions from. Wish he would have responded because I had my loupedeck all set up with velco to my monstertch mount, only to realise I didn't know how to rotate the display

@4:42 Making your own profile is what I do most of the time. Those pre defined profiles are never exactly what you need / how you work with that particular application. So no biggy..
Is there a reason, when you talk about burn in on your Oled monitor you show the Electron Octatrack which is famous for burn-in on the Oled screen. (Don’t ask me how I know. 😢)
@WorkFromHype

So I just happened to be watching a Jon Makes Beats on KZread when I captured that clip lol. He's got me wanting to buy an octatrack even tho I've only ever been a VST and midi scrub lol. I had no idea that device has a burn in risk... That is crazy since it's the same UI... Every time you use it.

You only tend to see it on the sample edit screen which is white/inverted from the rest of the UI. 2nd hand sellers keep quiet about it. Elektron can sell you a replacement screen or install one for you. That said: if you like a challenge, the Octatrack is one. I still don’t know I I love or hate it. But I like the buttoonzzzzzz. 😅 And thanks for all the videos. I used to be want to only buy music gadgets. Used too…… 😮
If it was compatible with Linux and about half the price, it would be perfect. It feels like it has just the right number of buttons and knobs for a lot of use cases, the software just isn't compatible with Linux, making it a non starter.
Razer just came out with the Stream controller. I’d love to see a video about that!

The Razer Streamdeck is a Loupedeck Live with a different shell. The Loupedeck Live has been out for a while now.
Does it work with a mac?

@@WorkFromHype Thanks 🙏, keep up the great videos man
The fact you cannot keep it inclined while in vertical orientation is pretty dumb
This is a solution looking for a problem.

no, software is crap. dynamic mode is buggy, marketplace is buggy, simple operations are terribly complicated, like assign folder - you HAVE to write script and copy/paste path to the folder, no browse button...
It's hard to tell which reviews to take seriously on this channel. You'll rave about one product and then a month later there's a new video about a product with a similar or identical use case that you will feel differently about. It's hard to figure out what's useful or not-- if Device A and Device B do the same thing and you love A but can't think of a way to work B into your workflow, is the product category worthwhile or not? It's even more confusing when the use cases are mildly different (like this device compared to, say, a Megalodon Macro Pad). You're all over the place. I don't hate your videos or anything and appreciate your production effort. It's just that your content contradicts itself all the time.
Do you have a discord server?
Loupedeck LIVE is betten than the S version. ;-)
how do you rotate the interface 90 degrees? wasn't obvious for me 🥲
