Was at the next test and Lyon got crucified by the crowd. Everytime the ball was about to be thrown to him between deliveries everyone was on him building up the tension.

All I can see in these all videos of Australia is Justin Langer chewing gum with utterly disappointed and shocked face😂😂😂

I feel for Tim paine I love that's fact he doesn't hide away fronts up honest. Takes responsibility is mentally tough. Unbelievable captain is he the best player no.. Steve Smith is but captains take pressure off your best players.

Stokes is one of those players who occasionally does things by pure will, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Such people make their own luck.

This particular Test match, hit Australia hard. England won from what was an improbable Victory. What a Test match ,😍😍😍😍 words cant describe. Ben Stokes the man

English and proud...loved it...we have had enough pain off the Aussies over the years...Stokes is a one off and England are young and strong and vibrant again...much more to come from England!

I've noticed that the teams that don't immediately address their big loses after they happen, struggle to get over it.

Considering the T20 world cup victory and smashing ashes victory in 2021, Aussies bounced back pretty hard!

BUT WHY!? That's so bad! Why dont All decisions get reviewed? Why do we leave such a sizable margin of *error*, an ERROR, that's what it is, it's the opposite of skill! as such that it can change the tide of a match? Fair play to England tho, was within the rules of the game, stokes played an epic Innings.

I don't think anyone of the players wanted to be in that room. It was the right thing to do, look at it, learn from the mistakes, own it, move on. It was a drawn series in the end. Both teams were hit and miss with moments of genius. Australia can come out of it heads held high. As a spectator, mistakes make drama and that is why we watch.

Phill Tolkien I think an even series was pretty fair. Smith was absolutely incredible and basically carried the Aussies batting, at the same time without Stokes’ heroics England would have lost. The quality of bowling was actually pretty damned good, considering England were missing their best, but it was a little overshadowed by the horrendous umpiring

Paine definitely comes off well here but his leadership was never in question. The players loved him and it was unfortunate what happened to him with the text messaging. Yes, it was unacceptable but not having the opportunity to learn from his mistake and to relinquish the captaincy from it was a step too far imo but Paine did what he felt was best and that is what matters.

My POV: this was a mistake. Everyone in that room already knew what had gone wrong. The time for such a detailed debrief was probably after the series. In the middle of the Ashes, you need your players to put bad days behind them and stay positive for the next match. India showed this in the BG trophy when after the 36 all out, Shastri literally told them to forget it ever happened and just get confident for the next match, and the rest is history. Confidence is critical in the middle of a tough tour.

Brutal. Ultimately, it may have paid off, as Australia won the 4th Test. Sometimes, you just have to accept that someone has 'a day out' but Paine didn't cover himself in glory with his tactics.

That's not it. This is just like any review of a game. But every bad match is an excruciating rewatch. And losing a big match is even worse. Serial winners just take losses very badly, that's how it is. You know that, you would get it.

Nathan D I think it might have been that Langer was questioning his Captaincy in front of the team, maybe he would have preferred a more private conversation about it. I didn’t see it that way though

You can never imagine Kohli taking criticism like that. And that is why he'll be counted among one of the greatest cricketers, but not captains, of all time.

I have to disagree with you on this, none of the fans knows what exactly goes inside team meetings like this. You are making this assumption based on how we see virat kohli on the field. Everyone has the personality of dr Jekyll and mr hyde on and off the cricket stadium. I thinks it's best if no one uses their wild imagination while making statements like this.

I think this post mortem was not at all required. The players, quality players at that, know in their hearts that they should have won this match, but luck didn't go their way. The best way to move forward is to not look back at this game, completely forget it and move on. Don't even talk about it. You could see how uncomfortable Lyon was when the missed run-out was replayed, how embarrassed Paine was at that awful review. Sh*t happens, just forget and move on.

I'm really worried about the Australian cricket team. If they keep going on like this shedding tears it could lead to a rise in sea levels...

Every team goes through a similar thing We were saying the same about England's white ball team after the 2015 world cup but moved on and won the next one We were saying the same about South Africa but they beat West Indies at their own home soil in a t20 series(mind you, it's not easy) and in a test series Pakistan have been going through rebuilding and are slowly on the rise once again So don't worry they'll be back
