This CATASTROPHE was POST-APOCALYPTIC | Watch the Transformation!

So some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 4 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - what a challenge! All up, I spent around 12 hours on this job, including 4 trips to the landfill. This is episode 5 of who knows how many episodes.

FAQ's:
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

It's a very good question - surely this garden paints a picture like no other of how much stress was put on family carers when we collectively thought asylums were no longer tenable. Re-winding the clock surely another path could have been to improve them and acknowledge they weren't the best for everybody, but for some they could provide the stability, security and care for some to live their best lives? Care in the community? Looking at this...

You're doing GREAT, George! If there wasn't someone like you to help this family, I can't imagine they could ever find someone to clean up their yard at all! Now if I were this family, I would get the strongest herbicide on the market, and as soon as those brambles start growing back (and they will!), spray the heck of out them to kill the roots! Otherwise, all of your work will be for naught within a year or two... You've given them a wonderful gift!

You are by far a better person, than I'll ever be. Whether you get paid but KZread donors, whatever the case may be. It takes a very special person to be willing to do what you've done for this woman. I just can't seem to find the right words. So, God bless you.

What goes around comes around and your life should be blessed for all you do for others. I'm sure this woman has more on her plate than most people could deal with and leaving behind the maintenance of her garden was a necessity. You are doing a great and thorough job and I'm sure she appreciates it more than you will ever know!! Pat yourself on the back!! I look forward to the next in this cleanup. It looks tremendous for what you've done!

THIS episode reminds me of those adventure movies where a guy has a machete and tries to carve a path out of dense jungle foliage...except for the location and tools it's SAME SAME to me! = YIKES!!! I caNOT imagine how happy this poor woman must feel when she sees a long-standing burden...lifted before her very eyes. WELL DONE George! You have 'such a heart' for people. Health and Blessings to you and yours!
