I hope the money will be enough to not only include renovations of the house but also a cleaning firm to come on regular basis to clean the inside. Having builders really makes a lot of mess - inside and outside. I guess this was his wife assignment previously. Very few men at that age know anything about cleaning a house or just attend to what you see right in front of you. Corners and behind matters a lot. I hope Jim can be able to spend time with his wife as much as possible. That garden is very flat. Not so hard to keep clean. Why not get a mower robot to take care of the lawns?

As a 75 yr old I understand the transformation in Jim. When your brain sees all the work that needs doing and your body fails you, you become so overwhelmed that even the smallest task becomes monumental BUT when you have young healthy bodies systematically wade in and help, it is like a reboot to your brain and energy. Jim in this time has gone from a bewildered 77yr old to a energetic 50yr old. Thank you Ben, Phil and team giving Jim back the gift of self-esteem.

Just wanted to say ive just watched this video with tears in my eyes. My late wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer jan 2022 by August she was bed bound & we had a hospital bed in the living room. I slept downstairs on the sofa so i could be with her plus i was her main carer. By the end she didn't know who anyone was or what was happening. Watching the one you love suffer is the hardest thing in the world & time is precious. I lost my wife 23 December 2022 & that day i felt like my life ended. What you're trying to do by building an extension so they can be together is the most amazing thing anyone can do for them. I hope you achieve everything you want & more so the 2 of them can spend precious time together as thats the most important thing in life. You're a good man

You've shown you have a gentle soul with a heart filled with nothing but kindness. That money is a gift. Through these videos, we can see that every penny is not being wasted and know it's going towards helping you. Me, too! You are not only making a positive difference in Jim's garden and house, but, most importantly, in his life, in himself, he seems stronger, more full of life, he even knows how to handle the electric cutter better, and is carrying some weight standing straight. But I fear he might get depressed once this renovation is over and you guys will move on to another fantastic project. He will miss your company, serving you tea and snacks, helping out, watching everything that is going on. It's like a dream. It's like having kids at home and when the nest is empty, loneliness is all we have. I don't want that for him.

Having watched this series, there is an important thing I have noticed. ⭐⭐⭐ You and your mates have built a comradery with this elderly gentleman. It is needful for him. Ya'll have probably added 10 yrs to his life just b/c he gets to JUST be around men. That may matter more than anything you all have done for the quality of his life and his spouses life in the physical realm. Keep horsing around gentlemen - it is IMPORTANT!

Who knows what you will be able to accomplish with a nice fat sum for Jim & Jean. What an EXTRAORDINARY thing for you and this wonderful community you have cultivated have done!! WOO-WHOOO!! Jim was so overwhelmed with shock & joy when you told him how the GoFundMe came through. His tears of joy and gratitude are so touching -- I cried right along with him. You are soo good to him, Ben! You know the more I watch this - and oh the irony because it’s social media that has brought about this fantastic result - I think of how many Jims there must be out there. As much as I applaud social media / YT for raising funds, what it brings home, more than anything is how isolated people like Jim & Jean are. The underfunding and erosion of local services has probably left them with very little support. We need somehow, some way to bring back a real life sense of community into our world. We need to build our community centres, sports facilities, libraries and youth centres again. By fostering a community spirit from young age, hopefully you create a sense of caring. In turn if our young felt cared for, encouraged and involved maybe they would pay it forward. How can they do this if they are glued to social media and worried about where the next like is coming from? Flawless Cleaning Services have no words for you living and demonstrating what is meaningful is this life - it’s a beautiful thing you’re doing. ❤

To me, this is how most people in the world are. I wish the media would show things like this on a daily basis. Already made my donation on "GoFund me"! After his episode it'll surely reach the 70.000-goal to build a new conservatory! Unbelievable what you've achieved with your great channel, dear Ben! Donating money is kind of easy if you can afford it - but digging out roots, building fences and cutting down a HUGE jungle with a lot of "surprises" to be found and carried out is a whole different dimension!!! So great to see Jim really kind of "blossomed" (don't know if that's the correct English word as my mother's tongue is German). Seeing him helping a little bit and continue to serve food for the courageous helpers really brings joy to my heart! I know he's very sick too. But this whole project seems to bring him emotional strength! And you "Flawless"-guys: YOU SIMPLY ROCK! Daddy as a Hercules statue carried by Ben was HILARIOUS!!! and Paul's answer to Ben's description of a root: "What a monster!" - Paul: "... and a root!" HILARIOUS! And PS to Jim: You are no stranger to me as well!!! Hope so much that you and your wife will very soon be able to sit in the new conservatory, or even on your terrace and enjoy a new garden to regrow!!! From the bottom of my heart do I wish you both strength! All the best to ALL OF YOU FROM VIENNA, AUSTRIA!!!

Like Jim, I was raised not to ask for help, and not to burden people. I have been put in a position, at times, of needing that help. And a friend convinced me. Some people get their joy like you do....helping people. For those people, whether it be helping with a meal, or things, or labor, or money.....to not let them help is to take away their joy. And I would not want to take away their joy. I should let them have that blessing that they get by blessing me. It has given me a lot of peace about receiving help.

No matter what; every time you (with great physical effort over great investments of time and energy we really cannot appreciate on a speed up time lapse video!) dig through the brush and debris and find tons of other stuff to deal with ... you all just smile, take a second to catch your breath ... and then just get cracking again for days at a time. Ivy had choked the entire east side of my yard, killed 2 magnificent trees and ruined 108 feet of fence. It took an entire summer to remove it by myself and cost me hundreds in disposal fees. I was able to save one tree but not without the help of professionals. So having said that, what your team did is nothing short of amazing.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people do not know how to use ridged decking. When the ridges are on top they do in fact hold water and encourage the growth and retention of algae, lichens and moss, which creates a slippery, dangerous and unsightly deck. That planking *was* *never* *intended* to be installed that way, *it* *is* *not* grip tread, it was never invented for that purpose. The ridges are in fact drip lines, their purpose is to be on the underside, to draw water away from collecting in, on and between the understructure, posts, bridging, joists etc. Initially the product was being used correctly then someone decided it looked cool upside down, and the rest is history.

How fantastic to help change life for this couple! You all have done more than one would ever expect. Thanks for all that you have done for Jim and Jean!

You three guys are the absolute best! I can't believe how hard you all worked on Jim's yard. Clearing out all those roots was extremely hard work. I can't believe you removed them. Now, JIm won't have to worry about them growing back. Again, thank you for helping Jim and doing such wonderful work.

I know it’s a bit overwhelming Jim, but we all really want to do this for you! And when we do it as a big group, it’s easier for everyone! It makes me feel good knowing I can help from afar…so don’t think you’re the only one getting something positive from this experience!😀 Thanks Ben for all you and your crew do!
