I am sure this new system will be very sweet. I have the TW1 10 in a custom, ported enclosure. I built the box using techniques I have seen you use. I have the XD 800 8v2 and a Rockford Prime r500 running the subwoofer, the XD runs my hertz mid bass and midrange, with morel NT120 tweeters in the a pillar that I also made using your techniques, this is all controlled by a Zapco Z8 IV. I used knuconeptz wiring, and distribution, as well as stinger 4000 RCAs. Good bass, good mid bass, and the highs are great. Also sound deadened the entire car, so no rattles. Only issue I have is two separate but distinct noises, one is alternator whine, the other I have yet to figure out. I am sure one is a ground issue, but the other I am not sure.

I have the RD 1500 amp. I switched over skar skv2 1500 amp. RD 1500 is a way better amp. It produces deeper bass, is louder at lower volumes and doesn’t get hot. Definitely worth the price. I use to hear about clean power but didn’t understand what that meant. I do now

I have a 2004 chevy silverado 2500 crew cab. Doing a custom build. Lifted the seats 4 inches ( kids enjoy that a good bit). Removed the seat frame to make maximum room. But made sure to keep the seats fully operational and safe for the kiddos. I can make about 5sq ft total using 1/2inch mdf and about 4.5 Sq ft using 3/4 inch thick mdf. Will have a few audio control parts. (Epicenter and overdrive) plus crossover possibly. But it's up to four 8s or six 6.5s. It will most likely be a skar system just bc I've heard great things about their upper line of speakers that don't cost as much as other brands. But could six 6.5s deliver the chest vibration bass or should I just go with the four 8s?

I’m looking into adding a sub amp to my 2021 Nissan Titan Pro4X (with the Fender Audio System) Which amp would you use to run two JL Audio TW3-D8 running at 2ohms? This AC amp or the JL Audio RD1000/1? Also, the factory sub is mounted under the front passenger seat. I believe that sub has a dual voice coil because It has two sets of speaker wires running to it. Should I connect the amp to those two sets of speaker wires? Or get a signal somewhere else? Please help. Thanks

The RD series amps are nice on bass, however, for mids n highs, I'm not a fan of the RD. I think the sound is very flat. I like they way Rockford Fosgate sounds. It sounds more dynamic and musical. The power series to be exact. I know those amps are in completely different ranks and class, but its my own experience. Idk how an XD or HD multi channel amps sound against the RF Power series amps, very curious.

I'm not a fan of RD for highs because out of the three 4 channel amps I own , it's the noisiest . Those balanced differential inputs mean you can't ground the RCA or the noise gets worse .

Hey Mark, in order to get the best of both worlds (i.e. the low bass of a ported enclosure & the hard hitting bass of a sealed enclosure), can you put two of those subs in a sealed enclosure and the other two in a ported one? Or would that cause resonance issues? I don't think I've ever seem a system with such a setup. Would you please elaborate?

  • @andrewjohn6853

    @andrewjohn6853

    2 жыл бұрын

Yes you can have any configuration of enclosures, or even a ported and sealed in a single box, limited to space available but it might be better to have different subs to suit the enclosure type. Resonance issues will appear regardless of enclosure combination.

So this is kind of long winded and I do hope you read this: I've recently started saving and researching for when I decide to ultimately modify and upgrade my 2007 Sonata Limited. I want to strip the audio system out and put in a completely custom 16 speaker sound system (like I said modify and upgrade). Anyways I've kind of picked majority of my speakers if not all that I'd like to go with. I've also picked out the Alpine PXE-X09 but I watched one of your other videos and apparently I still need an amp, thing is I'm trying to go as few additions as possible and I'm currently stuck on what else I'll need to complete this setup. Again I'll be modifying interior panels and the inside to fit all of this. My goal is to have a top of the line luxury sonata with the BEST audio and functionality. I know its cheaper just buying a new car but I want to have fun with this. If you have any helpful tips and points I'd appreciate it, heck if I get enough money I might pay you to help if you're interested 😂

Awe you like the Ford 150. Red 03 Lightning owner here. My Red rocket is never for sale. I went bonkers installing things to make it a pain for 2 guys to get my gear out in 6 hours. Dude you have to get a D class mono bass amp. Another amp for mids and high. Capacitor between. Single cab pickup everything has to be balanced. I didn't expect: nobody knows how to really work on it unless they have several Lightnings. Most Lightning people own more than 1. I want to look at the alternator. It is19 yrs old. I want to redo it would much rather upgrade before something breaks. Did the big 3 upgrade. Dad helped me unbolt the seat and throw in tricks. Suddenly after doing that I stopped getting robbed every 6 months. I need Dad to help me w diagnostics. JLs are engineered great. My HS boyfriend had the system. single cab pickup.just Subs. Nothing for highs. It sounded really good. I don't understand how he got his black v8 Chevy to handle so many demands. Early morning that sorta delicious rant. Sry but not.

@CarAudioFabrication This is probably a noob question but ive been looking all over your page and cant find an answer. I see you have a 1500 watt amp to power 4-300 watt subs totaling 1200 watts. But you used a 300 watt amp to power 4-75 watt component speakers totaling 300 watts. One of crutchfield amplifier articles says to not but a amplifier whose rms is rated higher than your speakers. Would this damage the speaker. If not how do you prevent this?

Accu bass and epicenter are completely different. Accu bass is for factory rolloff and the epicenter is for creating bass that wasn’t there at one octave lower I would go with the wavtech bassrestore it’s a much better u it sq

Nice set-up looking forward to see the progress, regarding the subs, I wonder how are the TW5's compare, i know they are bigger but also thinner and I believe less XMax too.

I looked at those but diameter wise they would have been a little more difficult to fit in my particular space. For this application the TW1's will be awesome.

Hey Mark I am trying to add a little bass to my car and trying to keep it reasonably cheap. I am looking at a SKAR SVR 12 and a RF1200.1. I have a Acura TL to put it in. Could ya give me your opinion or a recommendation on something comparable on money and sound? Appreciate it.

I understand the products Mark is reviewing are notably good products. PSA JL and Audio Control are sponsors on Mark’s channel. Thus a large reason for using these products.

Also worth noting I approached them for partnering with the channel as these brands are gear I used long before starting the channel. Everyday my email gets offers of sending new products from other companies, yet these are the guys I like to work with. I choose these products because they are high quality and known for their performance.

@@CarAudioFabrication Yes they are incredible products. You do great work and your work is paying off so you can have them sponsor your channel. And you deserve the sponsorship. To me it seems like you let the products outshine the incredible work you do. Just a personal perspective. I promise I wasn’t trying to troll you and I apologize if my comment come off that way. I’m just saying the real magic is in your work not in the products and this used to be grass roots on your channel.
