This Can CUT RESIN Use BY OVER HALF!!! An Experiment by Daniel Cooper
In todays video we take a Resin Art experiment and totally change the way we could make certain things with UV Resin! THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!
I want you all to hit the comments with ideas on how this Resin Art Idea can be utilized! The bauble idea is incredible, I currently have it hanging on our tree! I'm thinking of trying this is another way soon but without the bubbles.
So we have basically utilized the mold with less than half the resin needed and whilst it has bubbles, I'm confident that these can be coated after or covered to hide them, also, this can be sanded!

This is a really clever idea! It can be taken a lot further by using a strong handheld high-speed mixer to mix many more smaller bubbles in the resin. If a large vacuum tank and your vacuum was mounted on a gimbaled mount, free to rotate in 3 dimensions to evenly coat any shape before freezing it in place with UV light. With many small bubbles, the vacuum would need to be regulated by eye to just expand the bubbles and not break them. Another option is to get a chemist involved and find a blowing agent that could be added to make the bubbles after it is poured. A stronger UV source that would be focused would be nice. It need not be expensive. It is easy to make lenses that are good enough for this from Plexiglas and polish them with the flame of a propane torch after sanding them with wet 640 grit paper. Keep experimenting. We learn more from our failures than from our successes.

@@daniel..cooper I'm thinking it might also be nice to do this then paint another layer of resin thinly on the mold, put the bubbly piece back in on top and cure again. That should give you a shiny finish while keeping the textured look. Might work best if the initial piece was colored and the second coat was clear. 🤔 Could be interesting at least. 😉

If it's an actual gamechanger, it's perfectly alright to use the word. These are all fascinating. I started wondering, how they'd look with a second colour inside, but I guess that would take away half the fun. There are a million applicatios for light hollow things, like all kinds of hanging light things and such. As a side note, you can make hollow casts with epoxy resin, if you rotate the mold while the resin cures. I've been meaning to try that. And I need a vacuum chamber. Darn it. So many ideas, so little time and money...😂
