Resin in SHAMPOO Is BACK And BIGGER THAN EVER! An Experiment by Daniel Cooper
Here is a Resin Art video of me experimenting with UV resin and hair shampoo again but on a much bigger scale! I see PEOPLE! Tell me what you see! This new form of resin art is phenomenal! I would love more creators to also try this and to see what they get!
Each piece is unique and they just get better as the experiment goes on! I also managed to get control over some of the outcomes! Resin Art on a whole new epic level!!
Please do NOT experiment with products which may be dangerous if mixed with resin!

Remember to please wear eye protection if you try this, as mentioned in the video.
I have just come home from ARTSOURCE in the RDS in Dublin where there were many different types of art on display. As you showed the first piece, my mind is saying, get a wooden base, drill out a depression in the center, insert a colour changing light, add your resin piece, give it a name and charge £500 for it ..... great minds think alike Daniel 😊😊

With the natural color light, I think your family looks more like a family. When the color changes it just looks like free-form sculpture. Both are cool looking! I'm like you. I see faces or families in things too. You have quite the imagination! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you 😊 Yes, and if you turn them to different angles, you can see other things too 😊😊
To distribute the light from a base into the figure… first let the figure settle in a few mm of clear resin in a small flat container. Let that harden. Then pour a few mm of opaque black epoxy on top… After that, the light will ONLY come up into the art figure itself. (Hope that made sense 🤣)

It's just FASCINATING watching you make these!! And like you said, no 2 would be alike!! 💜😊💜
As I watched it occurred to me that if you varied the speed of putting in your circles of resin, it would create a truly Freeform piece. Love your innovations!💚

@@daniel..cooper oh. Looks like I lost the original reply to this 😕. In summary: if I can find the timing for it and produce the desired shapes, I want to use wire to build a stained glass window scene of other picnic goers. I feel like imitating some of Edvard Munch's painting style to keep the abstract vibe while still clearly depicting the scene. In resin rather than paint ofcourse. I've been working on brushing in realistic auroras with inks and various powders on molds prior to pours with mixed results however the same technique I'm using may work better for this other idea.
Very cool results. The Guardians remind me of the Aliens in Spielberg’s A.I. movie. I always loved the visual beauty of those beings, they looked like they had a galaxy within them.

The alien-headed one looks like it has some sort of umbilicus connecting it to the “ground”. Also, the “head” strongly evokes the deformations Egyptians, in particular, but also some other indigenous peoples practiced, and even still persist in remote cultures. Things like manipulating the skull shape with rocks, starting in infancy.

As a tech person… I am thinking of using an old 3D printer…. Replace e the extruder with a syringe with resin… and then make the process programmable and automated, playing with different movements. Those movements would then be reproducable afterwards.. still it would never be the same 😊

This is so cool! I was thinking during the first tries that you could try doing some blobs and not just go round in a circle, so I'm glad you got that idea too, and that it worked so well. I wonder if it would work to use different colours one after another. Like start maybe with some clear, and then go straight to a coloured resin on top of it before the shapes have formed completely. And maybe go back to clear after that? Could be cool. Or could be a mess! But it would be interesting to see. I felt like the blue was a bit too much blue on its own, but it could be cool as smaller details on a bigger clear piece. I really liked the alien looking ones, possibly more than the family type pieces.
I've had go at this Dan and a bit obsessed 😊 I even put glow in lthe dark powder in and its brilliant 👏

They look to me like Aliens doing yoga/meditation (third one wearing a backpack, so they hiked up a mountain?). What would happen if you swirled the shampoo first and then circled in the resin? Could you get a little usb turntable/lazy Susan to put in front of the lamp so it’s curing evenly from all sides? The group ones are definitely my favourites though the calm aliens are sweet too.
