Ingredients/Recipe: (1 cup = 250 ml)
Drain a glass of sour cherries
About 360g cherries (about 1 1/2 cups)
Collect the kirsch
200 ml kirsch (4/5 cup)
15 g cornstarch (2 tablespoons)
70 g sugar (1/3 cup)
Prepare the cherry pudding.
Cherry compote:
360g cherries
3 tablespoons kirsch (or water)
Some sugar to taste
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Dough:
3 larger eggs
100 g sugar (1/2 cup)
A pinch of salt
130g flour (a little less than 1 cup)
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons warm water
Baking pan: 26 cm (10.2 inches) with hole in the middle
Bake the cake at 180 °C (356 °F) top and bottom heat for about 20 minutes.
Cream:
500 g cream cheese (2 cups)
250 ml whipping cream (about 34% fat) 1 cup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add the cooled cherry pudding.
Place the cherry cake in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
