UPDATE It took SOME TIME But if you don't clean it out in a decent amount of time you'll see algae GROW AT THE BOTTOM. It's easy to clean and I love it. I ADDED 2 COPPER CAPS BEHIND THE FLAP BY THE FLOATER and now it inhibits the growth for EVEN LONGER! 👌👌
