    Today (7/20/2023) the temperature in Phoenix is supposed to be 119 degrees, and just may reach 120. We have had 21 straight days of temperatures over 110 degrees, and the forecast is for another week of the same. In short... I needed this video very much, and plan to watch the whole lot. You had a "Crazy Blizzard", but it goes so well with our "Crazy Heat". Thanks for an awesome video. I love all your work!

    You may consider shoe skid foot assemblies for the plow. The cutting edge will wear up. I know cutting edges are expensive to replace from first hand experience. With a new edge and skid feet, I left a 1/16 inch gap for the cutting edge wear down and the on the skid feet. I lost minimal cutting effectiveness. Just a suggestion. Happy Plowing!

    I have that same plow. Love it. I have the wings on it and it makes the plow sit at 10 foot exactly and I heated up the the wings to bend them in more so I have more of a scoop. I have a mix of commercial and residential. Im in southern Maine I plow South Portland bye the mall. I had to take off one of my wings in this storm to help wing sides back with less push back makes a huge difference but man I've run both. If I had the choice I'd pick my blade over a v blade. V blades are nice and I will have one in my fleet soon nothing can beat a v blade on a long ass driveway or privet road or camp road that has not been plowed in a storm like this. V it and go wing each side and go. With a straght blade omg it would take alot of beating but doable. Great video. I plow with a 06 2500hd 3 inch lift lots of work done to her just dropped 6k into her

    That's awesome Jesse, if I ran a lot of commercial I would definitely be putting money away for a 9ft V Plow but with 95% Residential the straight blade is the way to go! Extremely simple, less buttons and moving parts, easy to maintain and Cheap to buy... I have plowed with V Plows quite a few times and I honestly enjoy running straight blades better. But again, like you said, depending on the lot or long road, a V Plow can save a lot of time....The only thing I cant stand is that 90% of V Plows leave that damn strip of snow down the middle of every pass, especially when the snow is wet... drives me nuts!

    @@TheChristianHardscaper Expandable style (wide-out or XLS) beats a v blade in most any situation expect for opening up a long driveway with tons of snow on it. For sure its nice for that first pass but thats about the only time you will ever use the V position. 95% of snowstorms it will never see v mode. I would much rather have the ability to put the plow in scoop, and also be able to angle the moldboard, allows you to carry snow around corners which you cant do efficiently with a V. Just my 2 cents.

    We got easily close to 3 ft in plymouth from this storm I plow commercial lots and a couple of driveways I couldn’t get to my driveways till the snow stopped it was a pain in the balls trying to push 2+ feet of snow with a straight blade

    Do not know which way your blade is going , why do double work?????

  • @TheChristianHardscaper

    @TheChristianHardscaper

    Double the work? That’s a bit of an exaggeration… There is too much snow to clean in one shot, I keep my blade mostly straight to get the bulk and clean up snow trails after. Some people think using a 1/4 - 1/2 your blade saves time but I think they are wrong, you end up making just as many passes if not more…. With this much snow no matter how hard you try it leaves snow trails, keeping it angled and using half your blade just prolongs the inevitable….

    Do you want to buy me a new plow..? I owned the plow before I bought the truck. Why spend money you don’t have to? There’s a bunch of guy’s out there just dropping money so they can look cool driving down the street to impress the other guys… not me. Someday I will have a new scoop plow but for now I’ll keep raking in money on this 10 times paid for straight blade 👍🏻

    this is why I refuse to watch snow plows having to go over the same area over and over.will only watch snow blowers. plows to me are useless. will never own one.
