This Bike has EVERYTHING! | 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Press Launch

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In today's video, Chase gets behind the handlebars of Yamaha's all-new 2024 Tracer 9 GT+ during its exclusive press reveal. Having spent countless hours on its predecessor, many of the updates on this model appear to directly address Chase's earlier wishes. But does this new Tracer 9 GT+ truly elevate the riding experience to the next level?

The adaptive cruise control with quick sifter sounds amazing! There's plenty of elevation changes in VA with busy traffic & being able to downshift to pass without dealing with throttle & resetting the cruise sounds sweet 😊

Bogus Basin Road (mountain road) was resurfaced about a year and 1/2 ago. It was unrideable for a while, I waited for all the cars and trucks to smash down all the gravel that needed to be pushed in. Also in the Treasure Valley of Boise, development is so rapid there are dirt and gravel trucks everywhere so corners there is always gravel.

I have over 20k miles on the current generation bike. I added an exhaust, Corbin saddle, sport screen, and had the ECU re-flashed to get all the available power in all gears. I always ride it in full power mode with all the safety nannies turned off. I've also never scraped the pegs during aggressive cornering(A-1 mode, and setting pre-load properly would have likely fixed that for Chase). I would love it if Yamaha would bring over a lower cost base model, like they have in Europe. Give me the TFT, cruise, heated grips and basic abs. Power modes, electronic suspension, TC, SC, radar or integrated braking are not really necessary in my opinion. I can't see myself up-grading to this new model just for the TFT and slightly better controls.

I’m in the UK and I’ve owned this bike for nearly 3 weeks. In fact had its 600 mile service last week. It’s a great bike. I love the quickshifter. The handling is possibly the best I’ve ever had, apart from a KTM Superduke. Acceleration is smooth and controlled, but without the arm wrenching I get with my BMW R1250RT, though it’s much lighter of course. The radar cruise control is excellent, though of course it’s not as versatile as it is on a vehicle with an automatic gearbox (in reality, a car). Haven’t experienced the advanced braking system (fortunately). The TFT screen works well, though the Garmin based GPS is fairly basic and fiddly to set up. As a pillion machine it’s okay for shortish rides but my wife finds it nowhere as comfortable as the RT. The luggage also is okay, but panniers are a strange shape, and there’s no central locking like on the RT. Mind you, the RT costs around £6k more!

I don’t do long tours so I have no room to talk really. But the ACC on a bike isn’t a bragging right to me. My brand new Palisade has it along with many other driver aids that it becomes intrusive. All I want is the quick shifter up/down which I hear is amazing and hill hold which it doesn’t have.

So, did they fix the tiny-ass side cases? It bugged me so much how an XL full face helmet didn't fit in them! That's a deal breaker for me in a touring bike. I own a 2022 Tracer 9Gt & IMO this 2024 model year represents a big improvement. I am concerned that the colors all seem to be camouflaged for the road which is NOT something I like, I prefer colors that help me stand out. The radar & linked braking is great but I'd like to see Hill Assist added, too. And the screen needs to be much improved. I plan to keep my beloved "Big Red" Tracer 9gt for another 3 years & I hope to see those features added when I trade up....and, The Elephant In The Room, hopefully Yamaha N America will actually be supporting this bike by then. Right now European showrooms are full of factory accessories while over here in N America we get very little & most of what's listed is permanently "Out Of Stock". As for the observation on ground clearance & scraping pegs, maybe not going so fast into a tight corner would help....especially if you can't see where the road is going in time to react. Ride what you can see.

The whole video doesn’t have to be narrated AND DJ’d by you. We’re here for you AND the bike. We love you we love your channel but idk just something for next time. Thanks

I'm on a S1KRR right now and I'm looking to trade it for a touring bike and the ground clearance is a huge concern for me. I'm used to doing a lot of leaning in the twisties and I want a tourer that is emphasizing sport. With such a relaxed position, it doesn't really enable the sport part very well. I'm also interested in the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and fear I would have the same problem with that bike.

I own both a Concours 14 and a new ‘22 MT-09. I’d hate to think the engine in the MT is all I had when flying down endless roads. Maybe it could be better termed a weekend warrior, but full on sport tourer is pushing it. Plus, it’s still uglier than a mud fence. They added fancy cruise and upped the price $2K. Typical. It’ll be $12K in a year. The new display is killer though.

you just want it to fix a set speed and not look at traffic? it might do that if it's anything like toyota's radar cruise (keep in mind toyota and yamaha have a history together) i have a gt+ on order and i'll surely be trying it out, so to be clear, on toyota if you hold down the cruise control button for 2sec it'll switch over to "dumb" cruise control and not use the radar. i'd expect this one to do the same but i've not tried it so i can't confirm.

I thought multistrada not having a dumb cruise would bother me, but it didn't, it's pretty good on the shortest following distance honestly. Just makes it less annoying when people do dumb stuff around you, don't have to turn cruise off and on all the time.

@HowlerBikeVlogs No I have no issue with adaptive cruise but I dont want it to hit my brakes harder if it thinks I'm not slowing down fast enough. It doesn't know what I'm thinking so I don't want to be surprised by it hitting my brakes harder for me. If I want them applied more then I will do that. This isn't a beginner bike, don't touch my brakes

@volodymyrshoniia2424 I'm fine with adaptive cruise. Modulate the throttle, don't touch my brakes. Just give the rider the option to set what it effects even if I have to take it to yamaha to change that. Just make it an option

  • @volodymyrshoniia2424

@@jaretaustin14 I don't think it would have enough control over the speed without using the brakes. Anyway you can always turn it off and back on when that would be the case, so it wouldn't be any different from having a more primitive system. Multi is smart enough not to slow down when approaching a vehicle in front if you put the turn signal on.
