I like doing "slow and steady wins the race" builds for ssf. Vengence paladin and Concentrate barb are the most recent ones I've done

Vengeance Paladins are such a fun concept, I really do hope they take a look at it in future patches.
I would straight up change Stun to Cleave, which damages enemies in a 180 degree arc/area (essentially "melee splash" that so many seem to ask for). Damage/AR/Synergy bonuses to be determined, but yeah. Would probably be very good with long range 2h weapons too, with enough attack speed, especially if the range of the weapons makes a difference on the range of the Cleave (which is should). I could imagine a massive 2h axe swinging fast cleaving enemies left and right, I think would be awesome. Certainly much better than the literally almost never used skill except as a prerequisite, Stun.

yup, only time I've ever bothered to use stun for more than a prerequisite is in a challenge run.
My first D2R barb is a conc barb (I play HC exclusively). Unfortunately he's currently parked in non-ladder but he's finished normal. Bash: I'd simply fix the bugged damage. I don't think it needs anything more than that. Stun: I would consider changing this to a passive proc effect that works with all the other combat skills. So whatever Barb combat skill you build around could potentially have a chance to stun. Conc: leavb conc aloneb >:(
The first barb was serious about was Mr. cookies. Conc Barb who could stand in front of Baal in hell diff, players 8 and not die. Fun times all those years ago
I think Concentrate is the skill to use if you want to go with the Immortal King - the setpieces have so much armor (especially when upgraded, which you can do now) that they should work very well with Shout and the Concentrate defensive synergy. The extra magic damage from Berserk is a cherry on top

concentrate is definitely even more tempting with the changes to WW in 2.4.3
Bash always felt like a weird skill to me, just conceptually. Why yes, my melee character who only attacks at close range would _definitely_ benefit from a skill that makes the enemies further away!

@@Alfwin Bash is a prereq, so it's guaranteed to be part of your kit. Not saying it's the best explanation by any means, lol

@@ms.aelanwyr.ilaicos Good point. Still, I can't imagine it's a skill I'd ever make heavy use of, or want to invest a lot of points in.
Conc is very, VERY good, and works for two or one hand. Imho, is better then frenzy barbs.
I soloed Dclone on a conzerker back in the day.
Weapon and board with Concentrate till I can get IK going then WW Concentrate. Only need Berserk for really pesky PI's usually uniques. I love using Concentrate the xtra defense is highly underrated especially mixed with 1point iron skin and a few points in shout

For any of his skills, the addition of chance to cause AoE damage would be dope. Would make playing barbarian less painful.
I love concentrate! It's been my favorite barb skill from the beginning. Massive single target damage and you're an absolute tank. I wasn't a big fan of it's synergies originally, but after playing around with it a bit, it's still my favorite. I think the people who think it should be replaced with some "cleave" skill don't understand the massive power of concentrate. String leap and ww together for some nice crowd control - the barbarian isn't an AOE character.

personally I'd love to see cleave integrated into something like polearm mastery as a % chance, if it were to replace a dedicated skill - stun feels like a better choice
Imo one of the skills bash , stun or Conc should be an auto hit skill like smite.

I would vote bash personally due to its parity with smite.
Do any weapons in d2r have the stun effect?

not innately, but some trigger skills that stun via "Chance to Cast" on the weapon.
bash animation feels smooth compared to others, and the knock back is not entirely bad, it stunlock the enemy, I guess.
Concentrate is legitimately the cornerstone of a viable build in it's own right. It's just heinously slow. Imo, a damage/knockback aoe on bash and a longer stun duration on stun would make the skills a lot better. Alternatively, make them meaningful synergies for other desirable skills (perhaps an itty bitty stun duration on whirlwind and intertwine bash with leap attack?)

Its not that slow with top level gear you just have to use a 2 handed weapon like death eth colossus blade or decapitator

@@ms.aelanwyr.ilaicos my build usually does something like Edeath cb Treachery Arreats w 15 ias Ravenfrost Highlords Noscoil Then i cant remember if its might pride merc or faith merc. I think if its faith merc you can use fort and if its pride you use treachery. Obviously you could go for enigma instead and when im poor its treachery and the reapers toll merc

Bash should be a cousin to smite and barbs should have sheilds with damage values

I think Making it Unarmed attack and Giving Gloves a damage value like Shields for pally and boots for the sin.

I’m on the “make it an unarmed punch attack and put damage on gloves” hype train. I do like the smite cousin phrase though if we make it always hit (maybe?)
Personally I would like to see the interruptible perc from Conc moved over to berserk (thematically fits) and Concentrate removed from the game. In its place I think a 1-2 yard cleave that hits all enemies in a 90 degree arc would be a fantastic addition to the game. It would solve a lot of AOE concerns and could also synergize with whirlwind and boost its damage.
