I'm back to "Diablo II" and I was thinking about making a conc barb with a two-hander and act 1 mercenary for single player. Your build not only proves that it works very well, but it also inspires me to make this kind of character! Nice work, you've earned a sub :D

I guess it's pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream newly released movies online?

I’m currently using concentrate to level and while it’s been very challenging at times (river of flame…) once you get some points into battle orders and concentrate, you can seriously just face tank a whole crowd while slamming away slowly. Using big ol’ hammers and having so much fun with it. Cannot wait to continue leveling and pumping these abilities as I’m already seeing the potential

I like it! Simple, powerful, classic barbarian & great background music as well.

btw when you use concentration on the right mouse button it behaves different as using the left skillslot, you do not need to target -it autotargets+attacks and runs with mousebuttton holding down

I can't being more happy with Diablo 2: resurrection project, the remaster for pc and consoles ps5, xbox series x, ps4 and xbox one. Now The pixelarts designs and anímations it's more clean and detailed. Amazone, Necromance, Assasin, Sorcerer, Druide, Paladin and Barbarian looks very well done. For me, barbarian class is perfect for noobs, he can use heavy armors and heavy weapons and have more strengh, stamina and defense with physical attacks.

i recently started from zero in singlelplayer. i first farmed some gear from mephisto with a new sorc, then i decided to start the barb. started off with sigons+heavens set. at lvl18 i gambled a rare 2h hammer with AD and started crushing with conc. played players 8 right from lvl 5+. at llv24 bonesnap came in. at lvl30 i upped bonesnap- it absolutly crushes. frenzy dual bloodletters was by far weaker. when you 2 shot everything in Nightmare P8 you know its a smooth build. around lvl 50 i reaches act4 CS. i stayed there until lvl70. i tested lots of setups with WW, frenzy and conc. measured fullclear P8 CS times. (i did that before in vnailla d2 lod too). this time i only had items which drop from mephisto hell. and i concluded: around lvl65 all 3 builds are perfectly balanced. good runs have been in the 6 minutes range from every meele spec. with high rune words this shifts, it generally shifts to WW, frenzy needs more synergies and will shine a bit more at higher lvls.

A "ignore's target defense" attribute in weapon can be best option for concentrate, that makes it always hit, then conc will work all the time during fight against normal monsters. On bosses we need high attack rating. So, Grief with shield on concentrate barb will be not bad idea. High damage and high defence from shield and block makes barb unstoppable behemoth practically immune to physical damage. For hardcore playing its good.

Yup, no doubt that would work, but I really wanted a greataxe barb. :) Also, unfortunately in vanilla Single Player there is no Grief rune word and there is no weapon that would net higher damage than Beast(other than EBOTD but I have never found a ZOD rune in my life.. nor 2 Chams... and I would not convert 4 Jah into a ZOD either).

I used upped Sheal'd Ribcracker on my conc barb in vanilla single player. I farmed it in nightmare and used it for the rest of the game. (took that particular run to lvl93). Works with mace mastery and I really enjoyed beating up stuff with a stick, it has such a satisfying sound. I used it to mf my way into the endgame vs hell Mephisto and then Pindle with that setup. Ofc it's not an axe, and neither did the rest of my setup look as cool IK set haha. I did give full IK set a whirl once I found the during a Pit farming session, as far as single player setups go, it's not half bad.

I hear you! Ribcracker is one of the best weapon in the game! I'm pretty sure it has the highest base damage out of every two-handed item, once upped. It also gives a huge defense to your stats and 50% cb, plus it is really fast! Amazing piece of weapon. If I would not be so obsessed to have an axe for this barb, that would have been a great choice for this build!

So I first found your DAO vid, then DAI, and now D2:LoD? How are you so awesome?? Anyway I have this exact build! Still in act 3 hell though. I tried playing D2 single player vanilla for the longest time, but so many of my characters particularly melee builds kept getting stuck in act 1 hell once physical immunes start showing up with regularity. Even my zealot paladin which was pretty awesome up to that point, was defeated by the ghosts in andariel's lair. So I had to cave and install plugY which allowed me to share my magic farmed goods using my only successful vanilla character, a fireorb sorc. But boy was that a game changer. Reaper's Toll solved all my paladin's problems and now he's cleared hell too. I've since given him Grief and I use him for Diablo runs. My barb has the Immortal set except the armor, which I'm still trying to farm, but he's otherwise doing very well. So really, high level items and runewords really make all the difference.

Nice to see some vanilla D2 action, just finnished Hell hardcore with a Berserk barb (Howl makes it very easy) and I used a Crescent Moon sword, a kiscsaj amúgy lehet nyerne pár framet a Treachery 45% IAS-tól, esetleg 2 Shael az íjba, gyorsabban proccolna az amp damage ;-)

Kell neki a 2 Amn a life-leech miatt. Treachery az jo, gondoltam is ra, csak amikor osszeraktam a cuccat, pont nem volt egy darab Lem-em se. :) A Stone meg nagyon jo a 60% fhr miatt, mert igy meg akkor is vissza tud tamadni amikor folyamatosan utlegelik meg bekabitjak. A life-leech meg szedi vissza az eletet rendesen kozben.

Love my thicc boi barbarians. Regardless of it's status it's always been my favorite class in D2. I wanted to use him as my first character in D2R and wanted to use a two handed weapon, but didn't know what build to go for. Conc or berserk. I like what I see here & I might.....steal this build.

Im making WW barb at the moment and currently level 25 and have phaseblade grief and colusus blade oat runeword ready , Im thinking to shift to berzerker axe for beast and Grief Z

Hi! Great video I enjoyed it. I'm doing my own concentrate barb atm in d2R with an axe mastery as well. I was wondering if it has to be necessarily a 2 handed weapon or is it viable to use a one handed axe, in this case, with a solid shield. Obviously it would have less dps but even more tankiness and other solid mods. What do you think ?

First off: Thanks! :) Second: Hell yes! This build can work very well with a Beast in a berserker axe, or the Death Cleaver unique berserker axe. Hell, even a Rune Master could do wonders with the right runes/jewels placed in its sockets. Even an ethereal Lacerator can do some serious damage, especially with it's very high chance to proc Amplified Damage(which can save you some skill points since Amp Dmg will remove the physical immunity from monsters, so you don't need to pick up Berserk). For the shield, Stormshield is a no brainer. Massive damage reduction, which will increase your survivability even further, plus good resistances. Or you can try to build a Sanctuary rune word(KoKoMal) as well, for the incredible resistance boost. In Resurrected, you can build a Fortitude(ElSolDolLo) in SP/MP both, so feel free to do so, since it will add a ton of damage to your build, if you prefer to change it from the Immortal set(also for helmet, you can go with Guillaume's Face and Gore Rider or Goblin Toes for boots and Laying of Hands(increased attack speed and 350%dmg against demons) or Dracul's Grasp(Life Tap) for gloves). If not, the set can work perfectly fine with axe and shield. :)

I actually have a "Battlemage" build up on my channel for a Bloodmage+ArcaneWarrior+Battlemage spec combo! :) It's called "The Battlemage: Dragon Age Origins/Inquisition ". It's pretty invincible and has amazing crowd control abilities.

What do you think is the best type of weapon for this build or for a two handed barb build? Axes or poleaxes? Or any other type of two handed weapon? I like poleaxes because of the higher max damage and because it looks more like a barb specific weapon type for me

Well, let's see. Poleaxes have more reach, but they tend to be slower in the hands of the Barbarians. Thresher is pretty much the best, so I can totally see this exact same build working marvelously with the Reaper's Toll(fast, life steal, Decrepify on hit) for example. Tomb Reaver(massive speed, resistances, 3 sockets) is also a great choice or even Hone Sundan(3 sockets, massive CB, plus you can use the ethereal one for more damage since it comes with an auto-repair mod). Of course, nothing can beat the EBoTD, but that will require a Zod rune, so for me, it's pretty much out of the question. :) Swords can work great as well. For me, it's really all about speed. The build can work fine with slow weapons since I used the Minotaur axe to beat the game, since it has a ton of nasty mods that can cause a massive headache for the enemies, but it was just so damn slow...

@@AKisHerceg i get it, slow atck speed can be a problem, in fact, i think it is the main problem for a two handed barb build because double swing is unavailable for two handed weapons and crowds can be a problem when atk speed is slow, especially in higher difficulties. That's my main concern with the two handed build because i want to go with the polearms. I wish blizzard added a "Cleave" skill for the Barb like in D3 for use by two handed builds. But i don't think it is ever happening.

@@wolf_9626 Yeah, don't think it will happen. But that is why I mentioned Reaper's Toll though... it is kind of a "reverse-attack speed enhancer" lol. Instead of making your attack speed higher(btw RT has a very good attack speed, with 83 IAS you can reach the 2nd highest attack speed, in fact, a Shael, Laying of Hands and Highlord's will instantly put you to the 3rd highest attack speed), you can just make the enemies slower with the Decreify proc(plus it removes physical immunity on almost all monsters). Pretty great for crowd control if you ask me. The leech and the DS are just the icings on the cake.

@@Constantinus_Apollyon I use an HDMI cable to connect my pc to my tv and I play the game in 800x600 resolution. Fullscreen. Recently I had some trouble with Fraps, since it stopped recording my footage and all I saw was black screen with audio, so I searched for a solution that led me to the Glide Wrapper(it works very well now, my last Bowazon build was recorded with the wrapper installed). But this video was recorded back when I did not use the wrapper. Not sure what changed, why my Fraps stopped recognizing D2(something with Direct Draw maybe) but I guess the problem is solved. :)

Hi, i got that you know there is better than Beast and concentrate for damage but i think you don't know about how poison damage works. Yeah it improves a lot the damage you see on your character screen but in actual damage per second it's not that great. Only case where poison charms are actually usefull is when you have Venom active (it would be a bit long to explain why). With Poison Dagguer Necro you want to use Treachery (Chance to cast Venom when you hit). In your case you just should change your charms for +x damage or + strength, even bad ones. In the end you play with whatever charms you wan't but when you start to get good damage and attack speed with your weapon +1 str>+50 psn/4 sec. I hope you learned something (if not maybe some random lost guy who read this).

I understand how poison works. It works like a charm against annoying weak physical immunes(like the Swarms) which saves me from keep switching to Berserk against them or wait for my girl to proc Amp Dmg. I know Venom sets the duration to 0.5 and with the Necro Poison Dagger that can net you some pretty nice result. Which weapon is better than Beast for this barb? Other than BOTD of course, the most powerful weapon in Diablo 2 SP, but since I have never found a ZOD it would be pretty hard to build it... I keep seeing people saying this, but no one says "like this" or "like that" they just say "there is a better weapon than Beast". :)

Is better to give your Merc fight and use botd in this axe Or even better Merc act 2 with might aura

Yes, there are a lot of options with this build of course. :) I personally like the Act 1 merc, since it is uncommon(especially in vanilla single player without the Faith runeword) and hard to keep her alive. This gives more challenge to Hell difficulty. Only specific builds can make her able to survive on hell. The Concentration barb is one of them. Because of the shouts, she can easily keep up with my barb. Her Amp Dmg procing bow makes her even more useful. I have so many builds with the Act 2 merc, I find it so casual and standard(and frankly boring). Sure I could get a Might merc and put a GFace on him with Reaper's Toll and Treachery, like everybody else... my merc would be a real powerhouse of damage! But I like it when I do things differently. Using the Act 1 merc with my barb makes it more unique and it gives more challenge. I have never in my life found a Zod rune in vanilla single player(and let's face it, I am probably not alone with this). Using BoTD would of course work with this build(it would make ANY melee focused build work actually...), but it was not an option. Picking the best runeword to make your build work is not really a challenge in my opinion. The challenge is to create a build that works without those godly runewords. Plus I also like to keep some of my builds budget(for people who are poor and don't have too much time to put in the game to find high runes or those GG uniques), that is why I give alternate options, like the axes I showed. I tired and used all of them and they worked fine with the build, so if the Beast is too expensive(as it was for me for the longest time), people can decide to use those great uniques too. :)

Nope. I like to use Concentrate full time, hence the need for enhanced speed. You can pick it up if you want though.

Act 2 merc is great, but it's a bit boring to me since I used him so many times... I like to switch my mercs up a bit. But as I said the Act 1 merc is a hard one to keep alive, so it can only work with specific builds that help her survive, like this one. Other than my desire to use different mercs, I also use my Act 1 merc to proc Amp Damage on the target with her Witchwild String bow, and when she procs it gives my damage a huge boost! Just check how fast I beat the Lister pack with Amp Dmg on. I love it! :)

yeah witchwild string is a good soloselffound option and something different ... dunno why some of these comments doubt the build. Nice vid xD. The only thing i dont like about mercs in general is that they walk up or away sometimes for no reason. Especially on hardcore ... things can go south pretty fast in hell difficulty .

Not sure about that. I guess it depends on where they played. I think most people would think a Beast is too expensive for a ConcBarb. On Ladder they have better rune words obviously. In SP, I have never seen anyone build a Beast for a ConcBarb, because people usually use Greatswords. Still, I have no regrets. It was a fun build for SP. :)

Why not act 2 might merc?

@@AKisHerceg right you will need to install plugY for all that stuff. I have D2R installed on my computer and it's offline play is amazing. You will have everything you need to make those ladder only runewords along with shared stash. No plugY needed.

Interesting. Why do you think it's bad? This is pretty much the strongest Conc Barb you can make without BoTD. So I really have no idea why would you consider it "bad".
