THIS AUCTION HAD OVER 300 PONIES!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Hey Horse Lovers! This week I attended a Specialty Pony Sale with over 300 beautiful ponies! This auction was very well organized, and all of the ponies were in great condition which was nice to see. I was impressed by the auction house and how they called issues out in the ring, brought horses through, and how the facilities were well maintained. The catalog they handed out also listed specifics about each pony. They also had a few riding horses which will be in my next video during the crossbreed sale. In this video I will talk about what I am looking for in a potential auction horse purchase and also share some educational tips when it comes to browsing horse auctions. You will get to see my full experience and feel as though you were there! Did any horses catch my interest? Watch to see! IF YOU ENJOY MY CONTENT SUBSCRIBE!

Its so nice that lots of them looked healthy. Usually when you go to auctions, there are so many that arent in great shape, so it mustve been a nice change of pace to see most of the ponies were sound! And so many of them were just so darling; that little one with the glitter was adorbs! Amazing you can hold off on buying them, itd be so tempting 😂❤

My late aunt kept minis and tiny ponies as pets. She’d walk them like dogs. They were all so different and I loved them. I’d love to have a tiny one. Too bad I don’t have the space. 😢

I see grass in the background! We just got dumped with a heavy, wet 6 inches of snow ⛄️ after we just cleaned up the yard from the last storm. If I started to go to auctions again….😂 I’ll come home with a few minis and integrate them in with my giant breed dogs in hopes the husband won’t notice 😂 Thank you for the auction tips in helping potential buyers! Knowledge is power and it’ll help more horses/ponies have a forever home and a positive relationship with their humans.

❣💯 The 3 Gypsy Vanners in a row were stunning. The first one, a stallion with that uniquely braided, white tail, was eye candy. All 3 seemed in good shape and well cared for. Very great narration of your tour of the Hope, Ohio auction event with your friends; Catherine has a great sense of humor and fun. Can't wait till the next riding-horse auction.

I love your videos. I’m going through some shit at the moment. I lost both my heart dogs within a year both 13 years old both very suddenly and unexpectedly. And I’m really struggling with the grief. In my head I know that the more it hurts it just means that I love them so much. But it doesn’t take away the pain. I just love watching your videos you’ve got a very calm personality ,.and I love your red lipstick LOL🥰thank you.
We purchased a pony at that sale in 2020. She was raised and trained by the Hershberger farm. Their horses are very well broke. They use them in the business as rides and buggy rides. Well taken care of. The pony we bought was 4 years old and ridden and drove by a 9 year old girl. I have been raised riding all my life and this mare is the best we have ever owned. Hershberger always have horses in these sales, we won't be disappointed in the stock.

I am relatively new to your channel and have really enjoyed the videos I have seen so far . Your compassion , kindness and concern for all the horses & ponies that you encounter at the auctions is uplifting to say the least . I understand that going to the auctions can be confronting at times when you see horses and ponies that are in poor condition and your passion in wanting to help give these beautiful animals a second chance is honourable. Thank you! You are lovely. And your approach to raising horses is refreshing and very well thought out. I've studied the wild mustangs and how they want to be in a herd. The paint at 14:04 was homozygous for the paint gene, which causes funny spots in some breeds. If bred to a horse with a paint gene, whether or not it is expressed in the coat, the resulting foal will always show paint in it's coat. I worked for a pinto Saddlebred breeder, and we had a homozygous stud that had spots within spots in his coat.
Horses are such a big commitment and they’re so expensive especially nice horses they can even be almost 500,000!

Shae, you just can't help yourself! You have to go to the auctions to get your "fix"! It must be hard to not buy when you find an outstanding horse. I did notice that several of them looked unwell or in pain. Some looked just plain sad or scared. A practiced eye can spot a lot, of course you know that and do it. You were smart to not load up with another horse 'cause your plate is pretty durn full right now! Wahoo! 🤠🐎🐎🐎❣

I've learned so much watching your videos. When we were younger, we were stationed in Columbus, Ohio and would go to the sulky races. We always went early so our daughter could play on the playground and I could watch the warmups of the horses. I was lucky (only made $2.00 bets). I just loved the horses. Watching show jumping, I cheer for the horses who's riders genuinely cared for them.

I love ponies. My dad raised Shetland ponies when I was a kid. I learned to "ride" on ponies... I gave up horses a few years ago when I moved. Where I live in Nevada we have feral horses. I enjoy observing them. Sometimes I think about having another horse, maybe a pony... Maybe if/when I move to a different property. Between vets and bucking hay, my desire wanes. After 30 years of having horses, it's been a nice change not having as many chores...🤠

When I was younger, we had a 80 acre farm. We bought a black pony that was barrel raced. Lots of fun riding. Then outgrew him. Parents bought Palin ink Quarter Horse/Tennessee Walker cross. I mainly rode her bareback. I wasn't very tall, so getting saddle on was harder for me, unless one of my brothers was there.

Oh my gosh. I would not make it at a sale like this. I saw so many beautiful horses. Loved the paint Gypsy mare. It would be a dream to go there and get a horse of your dreams, then shop for a saddle/bridle/halter. The whole nine yards. It would be a dream to take lessons from you and then go to an auction with you to buy a horse using your expertise and willpower. You mentioned already have in mind what you want, and I can see why. I wanted everything!!!! Love this experience and your opinion about each horse/pony. Each and every horse there was gorgeous. Thank you.

Oh my gosh I love going thru all these horses with you! If I were there, I'd probably bid on a couple of them. I loved the smoky buckskin, but didn't get to see enough of him to know if I'd bid on him or not. ( not complaining). I also really liked the black and white GV, and the Morgan cross. I've been considering getting a GV, but like you say those feathers on the legs, especially if they're white would be ALOT of work! I'm with you about good bone and nice big feet! I've had enough refined horses. Thanks so much for taking us along. Also, I noticed that pony in the auction ring with the very bent hind legs, but didn't know that could be a sign of Cushing disease? Interesting.

About 30 years ago we bought several mini mares that were draft type, not pipsqueak size, just to have for pasture pets. What we didn't know was one of them was in foal. She surprised us the following spring with a dwarf foal. It looked a great deal like the dwarf you saw at the auction. Not quite as tiny and didn't have breathing issues, but something we hadn't planned for. What to do? What to do? After getting the filly checked out and guaranteed healthy, after we weaned her we donated her to an organization in the area that had a large farm/petting zoo/gift shop, the proceeds supporting their home for developmentally disabled adults, some of which worked at the farm and gift shop. So the filly wound up in a great home where she got lots of attention and excellent care and we knew the home would be permanent.
