You're super underrated dude! You go so deeply into detail when you were explaining how you were fixing the compression in that engine good job!

Most of the time the block is damaged on the single cylinder I’ve even used HF rod to fix 6 of them and no leaks, so I have 6 back up riding mowers

I sold this engine the other day to a guy that mows weekly and it takes him 6.5 hours to mow! The man wears out some engines. I have 2 more on the shelf just like it to get to one day. Glenn

I’m thinking I’ll just use the stock cam with the compression relief mechanism removed completely and just use a manual decompression valve for a chainsaw.

I have thought about that too.

Are these cheap parts from Amazon (and AliExpress) alright and last a reasonable time without premature wear or failure? The genuine Briggs and Stratton parts are a lot more expensive.

Maybe I don't have an opinion yet, here is what I know. I have another video where I changed the cam on a Husqvarna Mower, it broke 5 min after warranty. I went to our local repair shop for a part, we ordered the cam on Amazon. I asked the mechanic there how common this was, and he pointed to 6 tractors all waiting on Briggs Cams that were hard to get, all warranty repairs. I have asked others your same question and their response was. The Briggs Cams are made in China, the Amazon Cams are made in China, how different do you think they are....

Mo, Amazon and Ebay has many options. Put in your engine model number and camshaft in the search.
