”Karate has no philosophy. Some people think that the tradition of Karate came from Buddhism and Karate has a connection with the absolute, space and universe, but I don’t believe in that. My philosophy is to knock my opponent out, due to the use of only one technique. One finishing blow!” - Mikio Yahara (legendary Japanese World Cup Champion, known for single-handedly defeating 34 local gangsters (yakuza), knocking out a mobster with a gun, and turning up for a competition with a knife wound.) 🥋

Boxing philosophy is hit andnot get hit, i think this ome is better, because if u just try to go for the knock out you'll could get care less. Hit not get hit, u sorta position urself im ways or keep a a good range, this is where footwork comes in to play. That's basically it, at least the basics 😂 and Obiously practice and sparring is essential to know what works and was is baloney

Junior Avilez yeah, i like the hit and not get hit mentality. people get bad habits of not getting out of the way and going forward, or never circling. israel is a good example of someone who gets out the way, i just wish he kept his hands up 😂

man, I've been practicing the lead leg calf kick since Stephen did the video on it but I still can't calf kick anywhere close to as fast or consistently as these guys do a high kick.

2 QUESTIONS... hope they get seen. 1 The stance seems a little less square karate style. 2 there seems a double step to get back into your fighting stance 3.. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL... I realllllly want to go there one day

What's the difference between the teep and sidekick? since the contact point is the heel i would think it would be more like an actual strike than a push so it's like saying comparing a sidekick and teep is the same as comparing and jab to a simple push?

Hey Wonderboy! I have a question about how to handle injuries. I want to take fights, but I don't have health insurance. I have plenty of experience (started at 5) and I'm nearly 6 ft tall w a 76 in reach at 135 so I'm very confident in my mental and physical ability, however it is a fight. If I got hurt badly I couldn't afford to miss work (I am a vet tech so I wrestle dogs all day and wouldn't be able to do this). If you or anyone reading this has advice I have open ears.

Do you use your shin when your close and your foot when you are farther, while kicking. Do you judge which one to use by distance? or do you kick and dont care whichever one lands

Not sure if it's a dumb question... Was wondering if a frontleg sidekick to an opponents lead leg would be effective? The way I'm picturing it, it's kinda like Jon Jones' obique kicks but a sidekick to the side of opponents knee.
