Gettin my cardio right then im taking them up on the free 2 lessons, i dont even care if wonderboy is there or not cause the whole staff is his family that trained him into what hes became today. They are truly the last of a dying breed, those walker texas ranger types that keep the youth out of trouble and show them better things to occupy their time with whilst also showing them how to defend themselves from those who choose the other path

People tend to forget about all of the stabilizing and support muscles. These drills are going to help that immensely as well as tendons and ligaments getting attention. You can do side bends and sit ups but gross motor training is how you kick butt

Brilliant video WB. Back in the 80s and 90s when I trained traditional shotokan we did all of our kicks slow, but not enough training on speed and power. Couple of times I had to use karate in an actual fight the muscle memory associated with slow kicking would 'kick in'. I later joined a club more focused on competition where everything was speed and power, and the combination of the different ways of training really helped my technique overall.

Drills like these are ultimately a drill based version of Tai Chi. The slow movements are meant to build strength and speed through the stabilizer muscles. They've also shown that these movements increase bone density due to the increased load/constant tension.

Yes Sir! Off to get a bosu ball 😂 Question: Do you think not moving the foot position of the lead leg (when throwing a rear leg front kick) until the knee chamber has already come up so you get some extra hip rotation (from the foot rotating from half facing to full facing) as you square up and extend the leg is good for reducing telegraph? I noticed in a Gabriel Varga fighter breakdown on Conor that he used to do this and have also heard MJW talk about it as well. I think a breakdown of MVP's striking is due next WB! Never stop dropping the knowledge!

awesome tips as always! And awesome camera angles, showing the legs in frame! quitch tech question though, are you recording on a phone? The video is 4k, but the image quality is just potato. I know using a real mirrorless camera like a Sony A7C with a hefty wide-aperture lens like a Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD is much more complicated, but the result is a piece of art that is so satisfying to look at 📷

Another very good drill for kicking like the double and triple kick practice is the same thing but let your foot hit the ground between each kick. Kind of looks like how the muay thai guys do kicking on pads. So good for explosive speed. So your foot literally bounces from the bag back to the ground and back to the bag. Try do 3 sets of 10 of them and you will be exhausted within 20 seconds.

I trained in Taekwondo over 20 years ago. My grandmaster was a Korean soldier veteran and trained us to utilize elbows, knees, throws, and locks. We were taught multiple ways to throw kicks. For example the round kick with a snap that you speak of more so for speed, accuracy, and balance. Round kick attack from a 45 degree angle. Then a round kick with complete follow through which is not quite but similar to Muay Thai. Nowadays Taekwondo look like all sport only....
