Frank and Joe Manuel were two of the finest people I met during my public access tenure at MetroVision Cable. Along with their sister Grace, they lived in Temple Hills, MD and were active in church, community and all things Washington Redskins
(season ticket holders since the 1940s at Griffith Stadium). Each year they ran a Knights of Columbus bus trip for local kids to training camp in Carlisle, PA.
The team had won the Super Bowl six months earlier and media interest was high, but Joe got credentialed and treated like any other sports reporter and did a terrific job. Thanks to my colleague Willis Smith who produced this with me on Thursday, July 28, 1988.
God Bless The Manuel Brothers, and their sister Grace, all of whom have passed on. I'll always remember them, their kindness, and their spaghetti dinners, with great fondness.
