I call b.s. There’s no way artificial grass get to 170 degrees. Blacktop doesn’t even get that hot.

Gets pretty hot. I’m in CO. Definitely can’t walk barefoot on it in the summer sun. I love it though

Perfect!!! This is what I need to replace my dying grass, courtesy of neighborhood dogs, lazy dog owners used my lawn for their dogs needs. When I replace it, I want temperatures to go up 120+.

Such an irresponsible dog's owner which never picked up their dog's poo - but well, fortunatelly dog's poo isn't so smelly like cat's and smelled more mild than human's. I could consider you're still lucky because here on my neighborhood there's no dog's poos but so many cat's poos. Our residential area has so many parks with open frontyard houses - which _all full of grass_ and cats _can not_ digging any grasses. Could you imagine how disgusting their diarrhea type smell of poos and acidic urines spreading through the air on some part of the parks everyday? Yuks! 🤢

And I waited for the dangers of the turf /artificial grass then Nina says bye.....

Add sand. And then spray the grass a hour before use. Then it holds temp alot longer

That's why you put in some sand and water it in with your sprinklers for a minute or just use the hose and spray it down it will cool it down quite a bit.

We just installed artificial turf and putting green. We have 4 dogs. We live in Phoenix. Solution? Invisible Fence! After only 4 days, one dog has broken thru a couple times. He follows hubby. But no more! The installers work with you and follow up with your dogs and you! We only put it around entire perimeter of green area. They have real grass on other side. So, there IS solutions out there! Think outside the box. Well worth the investment . For their safety, and less maintenance cleaning messes for you!

It all depends on the grass. There cool yarn and cool fiber turf which stays a lot cooler. I’ve installed for shelters never had dogs rip it up or have callbacks. Was prob a bad install. Or crappy turf. I suspect a poor install.

I remember my buddy’s cleats melted during a spring football game on turf.

The whole not having to water it sounds great, but in reality after multiple quotes they have said with dogs it needs to be watered daily to keep the urine smell away.

There is cool blade and others that are trying to "solve" the problem. To spray it with water is contradicting since one off the ideas is to not use / waste water.

Just add T-COOL infill sand and it would help with the heat.

For pet urine smells, you can just add these infill sands. ZEOFILL, CAMOFILL, EVIROFILL, WONDERFILL....... 50/50 - WHITE VINAGER/WATER

Does any company make white artificial grass? It would reflect some heat.

Oh so this is perfect for me. I’m watching without the intent or desire of having kids or pets besides an iguana

If i had three dogs and a small back yard..it would be really worth it.

If the temperatures are that hot outside, I would have the kids stay inside the air conditioned house to play. 🤦🏻‍♀️. I leave in California where it gets up to 112 degrees, no one wants to be outside in those temps, if they don’t have to.

In summary, the best way to keep unwanted animals off your property is to install artificial grass.

i mean if heat is that big a deal spray down the lawn before the kids or dog play on it.

How can we get money for removing our lawn?

You have to go your state's website to get that information. First you get a guestimate from landscapers on the work that needs to be done, then submit it to the state. If it is approved, you pay the money and have the work done. The money comes back to you in a rebate. My family did it, and their yard looks great!

Make sure your grass is green, if it’s dead you won’t get anything

I have artificial grass and its a hell of a lot better than real grass. All your doing is adding to the problem of wasting water with real grass. Zero maintenance and if you have dogs no problem

I just grew some new grass from seed, and it was growing great, but now of course due to my dogs, it's going to hell. I guess I need a kind where I can rinse it easily, and do you put it over small gravel and shadecloth? Or how did you install yours? And did you just cut it to size?
