8:58 The red moss that's on those stones reminds me of that realm Geralt travels to through the quest with Avallac'h. It also has giant stone monoliths around, along with mushrooms creating the unbreathable fog you run through. Perhaps it's an intersection with that sphere.

The horse kick thing was an awesome find. It truly is beyond crazy how many details were coded into The Witcher 3. thanks, I was also thinking about that symbol, because it was used in Hellblade: Senua's sacrifice!
There's a monolith in Kaer Morhen, one in White Orchard and a few in Velen/Novigrad. There's one right outside of Triss' house on Hierarch Square, one near Lurtch, one near the Eternal Fire Chapel checkpoint (check the river there), another one not far from the Bandit's camp checkpoint (check the small islands on the right side) and the last one I found was near the Yantra checkpoint. And there's a house in Oxenfurt - the one with the trap door which leads to the prison and Whoreson Junior's house - which has a symbol on the floor. I couldn't tell whether or not it's the same symbol as the one on the monoliths but there's blood on the floor in front of a door so maybe a witch lived there. Who knows. But I'm so glad you finally noticed the monoliths because I noticed them a few years ago and I've been trying to find them all and those are all I could find. I even have screenshots. Hope this helps. Edit: The one in Kaer Morhen is northwest from the keep.
I was just watching a playthrough in Polish and one thing struck me - as I never thought about it before. Wanted to share it. In the quest with Dandelion's girlfriends when you visit the girl who teaches children- I realized there's a strange connection between Marabella and Black Beauty that was "born" when you freed the spirit from the tree. First of all - Marabella would be "Mara - Bella" when in Polish "Mara" is part of the name the horse gets after becoming the spirit's reincarnation - in Polish it is "Czarna MAra" (sort of indirect translation would be black mare which is exactly what it is - a black mare). So for "Mara" in Mara-bella this could come from the "mare" (english) or "mara" (polish, in polish "mara" means... evil ghost and in english mare means a female horse which is basically two coincidences in just one word). For the second part "Bella" is another meaning for "beautiful" (Italian) and the horse is named "Black Beauty" - so basically her name would be a multi-language but rather direct mix of "beautiful + female + black + horse + evil ghost). On top of that Marabella admits to a weird fascination with the horses, adores them and writes poems about them. Not to mention this is the exact place where you will find the kids. Spent 800 hours in that game, always freeing the spirit to save the kids and I just came up with this this very moment. I find that super intriguing and as I usually watch your videos I just had to log in and share it with you!

@@karolinakuc4783 We call her Morana in Bulgarian, but I haven't heard of any temples honestly... @@xLetalis Yeah, I had no idea if the connection is in the other languages too - so just checked German and the "Black Beauty" is translated directly to "Schwarze Schönheit" ("black beauty", duh!) and French (" la beauté noir" - also direct translation) but I guess Polish and English are primary languages for the game so everything was translated either from Polish or English based on how stuff was developed and what was more fitting. Marabella is Marabella in both French and German so not much of a wordplay there.

The magic symbol that you found is called a “triskel“ it’s a very common symbol even in ancient real life mythology and is often associated with things such as magic, power or druids because of the number 3. the trinity of past, present, future ; birth, life, death ; son, father, Holy Spirit ; earth, water, air Is supposed to hold great paranormal strength.

Hey xLetalis! I'm not sure if you figured this one out already but it's about Filibert von Wittan in BaW... ☺ In his journal (which you can loot in the stronghold) he mentions that he was bested in a duel by a man named Maximus Nonius Macrinus. I found it to be rather odd they went with a name like Nonius if they wanted it to be Latin-y... So I did a bit of digging: - Maximus = the greatest; the best - Nonius = Roman family name related to number 9 - Macrinus = not obvious, but comes from macer + inus. The word macer means skinny or thin and derives from the Proto-Indo-European word *mh₂ḱrós.... Now, from that PIE word, the Irish word méar came, meaning... FINGER. This means that Filibert "Fourfingers" was bested and got his finger cut off, being reduced to only 9 fingers by a man named The Greatest Nine Fingers 💀

8:46 Not sure if it was already talked about on this channel but I also encountered similar Henge-like monoliths in Velen. It was at a guarded location with an earth elemental I believe not too far north of the Nilfgaardian camp. I did some digging around on the internet and one person pointed out that it was a possible reference to the quest in the Witcher 1 where you had to free and fight an elemental by completing a puzzle. it's little details containing mysteries like this scattered around Velen that are just part of what makes it my favorite region in The Witcher 3.

The cursed pig symbol is the triskelion which is said to be used by Scot ''druids'' back in 15th century for rituals if I recall correctly. I don`t think it has to do with the crones but could well be something to think about the druids in Skellige?

Great video mate! We all appreciate the cazy work and effort you put into these videos

FYI: When mushrooms grow in a circular pattern (though mostly in a ring and not a "filled circle") it's called "krąg czarownic" in Polish which translates to "witch-ring" - same in German. That's probably why a hanged witch was drawn on the stone.
4:25 the symbol on the floor of the pig's temple can also be found on a statue right in the middle of faroe island at a crossroad near a cyclops, so i don't think it's about the crones... maybe about elves or ancient skellige tribes

The symbol is a triskelein in a summoning circle. It's an extremely old pagan symbol and can refer to threes in nature - mental/physical/spiritual, land/sea/sky, maiden/mother/matron. The hags may use it because it is ancient like them. The pig god thing, with other obvious decoration differences to the hags, makes me think it was once an old diety like them. Maybe they trapped it like the mother, but unlike her, it died.
6:28 that look made me feel things
i remember noticing shani having the correct necklace and was impressed that the devs knew the difference between the two, but i guess not at first. still, fair enough, most of ppl are mixing the two up and the fact that they corrected it show that they put attention into making details like this right. also fun fact, but in my med school they were telling us it's not actually a snake, but a worm - there's a very old and effective treatment method of guinea worm that pulls the worm out by carefully winding it around a stick over days or weeks. it's really an ingenious method and still used today instead of some massive surgery or toxic meds to kill or remove the worm. i know this origin of the rod of asclepius is considered only a theory, but one i think has a lot of merit. fortunately for shani, the worm likes warmer climate, so she most likely won't have to treat any instances of it, despite being a field medic

4:20 and 4:28 just reminded me of the Arasaka symbol, heh, nice.
Huh I never knew you could knock down bruxae, I'll still fight them sword only as it's the most challenging
Millie's reminded me that post Toussant, Geralt could easily bring all the kids he encountered in Velen to Corvo Bianco
How's this man still making Witcher videos this is crazy 😂
There was a myth once, that mandragora (mandrake) blossoms in places where a hanged person peed on the ground. I think that stonhenge thing plays on similar sentiment.
The story of how the Caduceus (two snakes) got mixed into the symbolism of the rod of Askelpios (one snake, or more likely, one worm), is quite interesting. The two-snake symbol came to be associated with the element of Mercury (and the analogous god), and then mercury got mixed into all kind of "medicine", so then it became associated with pharmaceuticals and medicinals, and then you add on the heavy occultism of the early enlightenment, and presto, you have two snakes on a rod and one snake on a rod, who's to say what is what? And then in modern times you have the US Medical Corps being rural hicks who don't know their mythology. Since the world of the witcher is quite advanced in some scientific fields, and has had, or at least is having its own enlightenment period now, you could easily make the argument that the same mix-up occured there too.
