Crescent heights walk is really beautiful 😍 Very informative video👍
Good thing about Alberta is you can get professional liscense like Driving, Security guard, nurses or other professional liscense get converted at Registry without giving any exams.

For driving also dont we have to give exams ???
Very useful for all those moving to Alberta.
Verrrry important information 👍
You must visit SE and NW to explore for rental properties. They both are extremely good communities. Also you paid high fees for Alberta National id, in some of the registries like 130th Avenue it's only 14$
Downtown Calgary is extremely noisy. While it is indeed convenient, Can’t wait to move out. Great video guys! 👍🏽

Hey guys. Congratulations on moving to calagry and you both are creating really helpful content. Me and my wife will be moving to calgary from India in a few months and we were looking for an apartment to rent in downtown area (specially beltline). Is it possible to rent one before landing there? Without having SIN number or other documents?

Hi Nishant. It would be a little difficult. I would suggest booking an airbnb or check out private basements to rent for a month while you do your apartment hunting

Yes it is possible. You will have to provide your bank statements to prove you have enough funds

When are you taking us on shopping in Calgary 😁 I want to see the difference between Toronto & Calgary prices🙏
@canadianjatti

there isn;t a difference in prices...the difference is the sales tax. Ab is 5% and Ont is 13%
@InTheNorthCanada

There is not much difference in the proces if every day products. The major difference is in the sales tax and obviously housing prices
Great, informative content, as always. I know it’s early days, but have you given any thought to what general area you’d like to eventually purchase a house in? I know you two like to always be prepared months in advance 😉

Not sure of exact communities but we loved SW and NW quadrant in our last years trip. Would be exploring all neighbourhoods to decide where we would wanna buy a house ☺️

Yeah our realtor had suggested we drive/walk around (or better, get a cup of coffee) in communities we were interested in to get a better feel for the place (we eventually ended up in Valley Ridge). West Calgary is definitely the better half haha

So how are you liking it there? And any idea of average pricing?
@vineetmrug1558

We love it here. It’s the perfect balance between shanti and entertainment for us. Although to be fair every community has pros and cons, and one of the cons here is the lack of walkability to amenities. You definitely need a car. On the other hand, we can regularly spot moose and deer from our house, if that sort of thing interests you 😊 As for prices, I feel like due to rising interest rates, many sellers are holding off putting their houses up for sale. It’s a weird time for sure, with not many houses on the market. But that should change by the time you guys are ready to buy. Currently they average around $700k - $1.3M here, but hopefully that comes down soon 🤞🏼

What is tenant insurance ? is it compulsory ?
@InTheNorthCanada
Жыл бұрын
Yes it is. If you are renting then you should get the tenant insirance. It generally costs between $15 to $30 per month depending on location and your coverage
@canadianjatti

its not always mandatory as private landlords for basement suites don't really care about your things. It is good to have because it protects YOU. As a landlord I don't usually care. I have my own insurance on the property. My insurance won't cover your things which is why you should have your own.
Hi.. I would like to know how you shifted from Toronto to Calgary?
