@@Lentils_215 , they’re absolutely adorable with pretty color patterns! I’m sure you know that already though. So when I first commented that a month ago, I’ve had mine for 2 weeks..which I guess isn’t a lot for it to get used to me enough.. they’re quite more on the defensive side when it comes to handling because they get really stressed out about it. (Unless you’re handling them the correct way) but they’re so chill in their tanks, almost like having a colorful pet rock! and are incredibly easy to take care of according to my experience. so now that I’ve been taken care of mine for 1 month and 2 weeks it’s gotten used to my presence more and never bit me once! (I only handle mine wearing wet gloves when cleaning it’s inclosure so I don’t stress it out too much) I guess just putting them in one spot wouldn’t cause them any stress unless you spray a bit of de-chlorinated water so it stays moist! Anyway, I think Pac-Man frogs are cool and interesting to look at, so easy to take care of and definitely worth to get because you’ll have no idea how much you’re gonna love your pretty little frog! I know I’m 2 days late but I hope this helped you out a bit!! Also, sorry if you spot any grammar mistakes ha.

@@Lentils_215, it depends if they’re still a juvenile or an adult :) my Pac-Man frog is still a juvenile, almost the size of my palm. Juveniles are supposed to be fed daily. You can feed them insects such as crickets or small worms, but I feed mine “zoo med pacman frog food” since it’s much easier for me who isn’t used to insects. And for adults, you feed them 1-2 times a week..only adult sizes are fed rodents. (but ofc they can be fed insects as well) also you shouldn’t have a hard time feeding them since they’re not fussy eaters!

Pac-Man frogs really give squeamish people like me a whole new perspective on how truly wonderful amphibian's and other little critters can truly be. They are pretty delicate so make sure to do as much research possible and also ask the pet store for a little more information since they have been the ones maintaining them alive so far. My experience with my male albino pacman frog Pig was challenging. I loved the little grump. He didnt move much but he was so cool and different. When he developed the brown pads on his toes so I knew he was a male I was happy but he never made any noise.I worried a lot about making sure his temps and what not were always correct. He was never a big eater. He was not a fan of crickets or night crawlers. I would have to poke him in the mouth until he would finally open up and i could pop a worm in. He didn't enjoy being handled he would pee on me if I had to move him. He did love to soak in his dish if I set him in.. He nearly choked to death first time I gave him what I thought was a smaller horn worm...fortunately I saved him before it was too late. Pig was just starting to get big enough I was considering trying frozen thawed pinkies when he sadly for unknown reasons passed away. I woke up one morning and he was gone...haven't gotten another since then... was just too sad 😥

just an FYI if you're tired of crickets; feeder is also known as 1 to 3-inch goldfish are a imitating natural supplement food and super easy to feed, just get some long tweezers and grab on to their area just above the tail fin and just bump the fish on frogs lips. So if u have a frog the size of silverdollar youd get feeders at about 1 to 3 inches

I was so amazed how simple taking care of a pacman was. It was probably the best one for me to start with. I once actually thought I neglected mine and found him not moving and beaneath the soil. It turned out he was hybernating and woke up when I was cleaning him off under the faucet to take a look closer. I found that the entertainment value of Fluffy was not a lot. but I found I was able to downsize his tank and used the large tank and made a terrarium for a pack of Fire bellies. Which those toads are not quiet, although I found it cute. Fluffy would try to eat the Fire Belly so I had to keep them apart. I found the bite from mine never hurt.

Every reptile has their own personality. My first hated being held but my second one didn’t mind being let out or held. I’m very cautious of what is around but when certain areas of my room are blocked off it enjoys roaming a bit while I clean it’s tank. I think it’s healthy to bond with them as long as they’re comfortable with it

It’s best if you do not touch them unless you are moving them to a feeding tank or cleaning their tank out. You can also safely gender your frog when you put them in a separate tank with a clear bottom and look at their thumbs and if it has a brown pad it’s male if not it’s female (most of the time you’ll need to wait quite a wile for the spot to show up)

There are crickets in there too. I carefully checked it's temperament. Very mellow! Tolerates gentle pets on the head. Will hop away when it's had enough. I gently scooped it up in my hand and it sat nice just watching me. I have seen videos where they grawl and bite. Those frogs must have been teased a lot because ours is mellow. If she hurt herself on the "safe" substrate and now you have to modify it before using it, then it isn't very safe now is it? Meanwhile, I have no idea how these things survive in the wild if coconut fiber can hurt them.

hi! i think a very important tip for pacmans and other frogs is to have a food dish. many pacmans, especially young ones, suffer from impaction from consuming the substrate along with their food. you can make a lil hole in the substrate and put a lil food bowl for them or just take them to a CLEAN plastic tub using CLEAN hands and feed them there :)

I find that storing my crickets in a 8g tall tub makes them last longer since they aren’t as crowded. Even in a large cricket keeper I find it’s too small for 30+ crix and they die much quicker. I just put mesh on the lid for ventilation. Lemon is super cute! I definitely have been wanting a Pac-Man frog for a few years now but never pulled the trigger because I would always get a new snake instead. Reptiles are just my main passion! :)

i took a peak at your channel and wanted to subscribe honestly I can’t it’s too devastating I had an African Clawed Frog that was the light of my life when I was 12 years old . I started to feed it worms and it grew and grew very large the tank I had was only about 10 gallons in my bedroom. It would “shoot” up to the surface and joyfully eat the worms but I was setting us up for failure and heartache and the early passing of this beloved pet.One day I went out with mom and dad and came back in the evening , I ran upstairs to check my beloved frog but he was nowhere in the tank!!!???? I frantically searched the house my room was upstairs I searched downstairs somehow it jumped I had a cover and lamp but the open space he got out escaped I don’t know how ? Searched for days , no answers I was crushed then one night my parents and I were watching TV and my African clawed frog came hopping from upstairs to downstairs he was covered in dust dehydrated and on his last legs honestly I suffered so much pain I can’t remember how I tried to rehydrate him but it was too Late about three days and all my fault . He brought joy and happiness into my life I was psychologically and materially abused as a boy by a psycho father and alcoholic step father . This creature was a bright spot in a world full of emotional and physical pain want and uncertainty. I see you have a tortoise I can’t bear to look I had a box turtle for three glorious years but he passed in the winter time he would hibernate in fallen dried oak and maple leaves . His name was Hardback and when I heard him stir the leaves I would feed him crushed egg yolks As a winter food he would drink that in the kitchen sink then go back to sleep until Springtime . But this was 1983 I had no money there were no veterinarians for me I was abused in poverty I would give my soul now to extend his life back then Im eternally grateful for the happiness he brought me in an early teen life full of dismissal and brutish domination from two sick fathers I wear the scars to this day and worship animals in privacy and obscurity. Thanks for your love and kindness to these noble vulnerable and neighborly denizens they’re all we have on this planet the Observable Universe is an indifferent hostile void .🌎🥲

You can teach tong feeding to Pacman frogs. I have purple tongs for feeding my girl and she knows they mean food. I bulk buy live bugs, gutload them for at least 3 days and then freeze them to kill and preserve. I then defrost what I need when needed and tong feed my girl. This also helps reduce the risk of her contracting pin worms from crickets who are an intermediate host for them.
