Hope to visit there one day! My grandparents (The Elseys) were from Whistable, and emigrated to Canada in 1914.

I’m lucky enough to live in whitstable, very quaint town and loads to do , watch the sunset from the neptune or have fish and chips at VC Jones . The harbour is home to the Thames barge The greta which does trips to the red sand forts 😊

I live in Canada. I just finished watching a series on Amazon Prime that is based there. I had no idea it was a real place. So cool!!!

I was born here, and it is lovely. If you want a sandy beach go up the coast to Margate or Ramsgate.

Yes, I think Whitstable is lovely. I think I preferred Whitstable over Margate even thought doesn't have sandy beaches. Whitstable has a cool vibe that I like 😊

Thank you for thoroughly taking us along this day trip to Whitstable Kent. I have never heard of this area. I love hearing about placing that you haven't heard of. We are playing a trip to England this summer and I will add this place to my list. It was fun to see this place through your perspective! I am glad you had such a great time.

I love your enthusiasm and you showcase so well the many wonderful and eclectic places that you can visit on our island. In terms of sandy beaches you just need to head west to Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall or South Wales or North to Norfolk, Yorkshire and Northumberland and you will find dozens that in terms of looks of golden sands will give any in the world a run for their money the weather however is not guaranteed!

That’s great to hear, and enjoy your future travels and I look forward to seeing your vlogs. Interesting what you said about friendliness, as I had relative just return from a few days in Faversham (good day trip from London) and they travelled round Kent and said they were the most friendly and helpful people they had come across on their travels. I am also a huge fan of Rum and Raisin and again here in the West Country it is a little more wide spread by the ice cream makers.

This place is so cute! My husband and I want to take a trip over England soon. We were, but quarantine happened! This place reminds me of Cape Cod, Massachusetts/Portsmouth, New Hampshire here in the US!

@Amanda Rozze. As you discovered the resemblance directly relates to the early English settlers using the raw materials available and the technique of clapboard housing is very established particularly in Kent and Sussex. So it does make me laugh a little when it is stated as the New England look, as the Pilgrims would have very much recognised it as the Olde England look!

Did you find any exhibits or experiences in whitstable, besides the oysters and the seafront?

great video, however there are 100s of beautiful white sand and fine sand beaches in Britain. Whitesands, Studland Bay for 2 that spring to mind immediately. Camber Sands, Little Hampton. etc and so on..

Wow it is so low!

I've been to beaches in the south of England that are white sanded and pristine. Not all are pebbles.

It was around £18/20 if I can remember, book I booked it in advance do it was cheaper than if you’ve boring on the day. So I would book the train tickets in advance for a better prince
