The mark of a good kids show is that you can enjoy it as an adult not only for the nostalgia but because it was just well-made.

Agreed best of all is you can still enjoy it when you become an adult and watch it with kids too. Unfortunately they don't make kids shows like this anymore they all use nonsensical rubbish, potty humor and slap stick comedy to get cheap laughs like Spongebob.

The Incredible Hulk 90s show did similar things, Bruce Banner and the Hulk are often shown not being accepted for being different. I felt I understood the characters in X men and the Hulk as I was bullies daily at school and wasn't accepted, I suffer from aspergers syndrome so I wasn't like the other kids. I have always been very intelligent and got good grades so they called me a Geek (I didn't mind that) but I fail to understand social situations so didn't fit in or make friends. I still have problems with social situations and people aren't very understanding as you can't tell there is anything wrong with me by looking. You really have to get to know me before you notice that I am not "normal" (I don't mind as its true) when people realise they are more understanding. But people I meet often instantly become aggressive when I say or do something I didn't know could be taken in a bad way. I never mean to upset anyone but most people don't seem to care that I didn't mean any harm they only seem to care that what I said or did can be taken as offensive and choose to take it that way I just don't understand.

I think there was a Remy in Wolverine's Xmen: Origins. Boy he was far off probably because of my high expectation from this mutant, he probably is down a notch from Logan or that I was really just being unfair in comparing his character from Hugh's masterful take on Wolverine, only thing wrong about how I imagined him is his height but it was acceptable compared to the benefit of watching this awesome of an actor portray my childhood fave anti-hero.
The Xmen theme music will always be part of me. It's been embedded into as my favourite TV show🦸🏻

The best part about this, is that they told you about the racism, bigotry and showed it in a way that didn't feel forced. The "diversity" is the same. We same mutants and characters of all shapes, sizes and colors and not once did it feel that they were there just to tick a box of diversity. This was good writing. Many of today's writers should take a note from this show.

This is the comment I wanted to see! There is too much of this woke revisionist history going on today. The completely unfounded claim that in the past there was no “strong female character” or racial equality. Even back in the 70s there were strong women (and not just men in a female skinsuit) and people who made claims about people based on their race were universally mocked as ignorant. Yes there was progress still to be made (such as enshrining the common views into law and the treatment of homosexuals) and the US was still lagging behind a few decades. But, the X-Men animated series was a good reproduction of the X-Men comics, and it reflects the views of the time, 1975

I was a teenager when the X-Men cartoons were showing in the 90s. The things I remember the most are how incredibly sexy Rogue was and that Jean Gray moaned a lot. lol
This is my first US cartoon which didn't talk down to young viewers and popularity of Marvel skyrocketed. Stan Lee did a gutsy move of telling what's X-men is really about so future generations know what to do to combat discrimination.
This show was excellent. So quick, like Wolverine's snarkyness towards Cyclops after he gave the order to pull out without going back for Morv. Wolverine proceeds to claw the roof off of Scott's car, before the whitty retort "Tell Scott I made his car into a convertible." Rogue was also my fave Character, lots of love for a Bad ass good girl

Back in mid 90s I used to weep everytime I missed an episode. Same goes with Spiderman TAS. Both were aired every Thursday 5-6PM on episode each. Our local TV seemed to have played the episodes in random order. And it was finally unwatchable for me because they moved it to morning slot at school hour. Genius cartoon series. Even the theme song too! Wolverine and Sabertooth are brothers so there isn’t anything wrong with that. He’s clearly teasing him. He doesn’t want a kiss as a lover. Night Crawler is a lot cooler character than I thought. That’s amazing with giving the Bible to Wolverine. That probably wouldn’t fly on today’s shows. I’m glad they showed that back then at least.
This is The Best X-Men.
I wish the gifted was still on.

Perhaps we are sheltering the current gen kids too much. Trust us... they are smarter than you know. Don't suppress them.

This cartoon was a major reason it was so easy to accept my aunt when she came out, and why I was turned from religion and capitalistic ideals
Marvel really cant give us cartoons this good anymore.
Many of these themes didn't go over our heads though. Kids are smarter & more aware than adults often give credit for. X-MenTAS acknowledged this early on & never attempted to insult its audience's intelligence. That's a huge part of what made the series enjoyable then & now as adults
The episode titled " nightcrawler" you see wolverine praying in a church. To me this episode is the most powerful just you see Rouge tear up. And what makes the episode so awesome is that wolverine a tough, rugged, man having emotion is poweful this made me tear up And when Jean goes away in the Phoenix saga I teared up. Such a awesome cartoon
I love how everyone is simultaneously overpowered and underpowered.
Mutants have the same weaknesses as ordinary humans.
That fox cartoon Trench coat was a well hidden running gag.
I know it's been forever since the X-Men was out but I still would find it very entertaining if they would have actually brought it back even now and 2021.
It sucks knowing they won't make cartoons like that for kids nowadays. Cartoons like this at least gave kids a heads-up in life and gave them a chance to critically think.
This is why the show has to make a return.
This show was better than my mom's dumb daytime soaps.
Being inclusive without being intrusive seems to be a lost art these days
My favorite was custodior, he had the powers to create a mop, broom/dust pan, and a vacuum cleaner out of pure energy, he also was the janitor for the X-Men.
Night crawler and his effects on Wolverine were probably the best part of this video. While a lot of ot is perfect in line, thise two had a very unique relationship and no matter your stance it should be respected
I wish that X-Men was still on TV
I'm humming the intro song in my head.
To this day I will never understand why Jean didn't sense with her abilities that Morph was their priest. Also, you forget the role of Mister Sinister and the anti-science backlash in society.
Storm came to let her know who run tings, then gave it back GOAT
I wish there were still cartoons like this. Today there's only bubbly, cheap, vapid nonsense.
