Dungeons and dragons did have an ending but it was in comic book and audio form. It turns out that the dungeon master actually brought those kids to that world of dungeons and dragons, and when he was giving them ways to escape in riddles and they failed escaping it was actually his plan that they didn't escape. He needed them there in order to rescue his son who turned out to be venger... Which was a surprise to me, but in the end the dungeon master got his son back (venger looked totally different when he was no longer venger) and he sent the children home. It was a very moving and sweet, exciting ending.

Even though I was born in 1981 I was still able to be exposed to all the great cartoons of the 80s. My personal favorites that I grew up watching were Voltron, The Real Ghostbusters, Bionic Six, The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, The Inhumanoids, Defenders of the Earth, and the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers. Those were the cartoons that really spoke to me. My second favorite tier of cartoons that I liked were MASK, Bravestar, the Centurions, Cops, and Thundercats. Even though I loved Transformer toys and I owned quite a bunch of them, I didn’t care for the cartoon all that much. I also really liked the Gobot toy line but I also didn’t care for that cartoon either. When I look back at the 80s, I think of the best cartoon shows and the best toys that had a whole lot of play value. For anyone who was a child in the 80s we know that we experienced the coolest stuff and we got to live and play in a much simpler time that was also much more fun and relaxed unlike nowadays.

Growing up in the 80's I thought school was just something we did when we are not home watching these excellent cartoons. I would get up super early on Saturday mornings and watch cartoons bc they came on like at 7am every Saturday. Then around 4pm came kung fu cinema.

Pole Position was pretty good too, as was Battle of the Planets (just to name a couple - I set my boom box up next to the TV speaker to record the theme songs on Saturday mornings 😁).

Great video - just want to mention on Thundarr... you had mentioned a couple of great comic book writers, but it’s extremely worthy to note that the character design was done by Jack Kirby and then taken over by Alex Toth! Comic book legends all around.

No blood, no bullets. But yep you could do things. 90's Fox Spiderman was under the same restrictions and made a wonderful show. You can imply a lot and with quick edits you think you saw what you never did. The punches never seen conecting. You just switch to baddies going flying. Can work.

Ok to be clear, cartoons in the 80's where simply a vehicle to sell toys. If the toys didn't sell, the cartoon got the boot. Also, I'm literally incapable of saying silver hawks without singing it like the cartoon.
