I was born mid-1979 and grew up in the 80’s. Such a vast majority of these I watched and loved. A few more that I loved and was waiting to be mentioned were Pole Position and Cops. Which I’m pretty sure we’re 80’s. Even if they didn’t have amazing stories at times, at the very least they had epic intros and theme music. But I agree with some of the other comments. Saturday morning cartoons? Oh, man. Nothing better. And kids who grew up even in the mid to late 90’s May never quite appreciate the feeling. There was absolutely nothing better. I used to wake up to start watching Saturday morning cartoons at literally 6am, and watch until about 1pm. Many times I’d either have fun things like breakfast cereal or things like Pop Tarts, or my mom would make pancakes, waffles, or French toast for me on those days. It was just bliss.

Great list, I would just add a few titles that are not on it: Robotech, Challenge of the Gobots (there were 66 episodes of the show, one movie, that was actually 5 episodes of the show edited into a movie, and Battle of the Rock Lords, which was an animated movie), the other Ghostbusters animated show, where the crew had a giant gorilla in the crew. A weird show, and an acquired taste for some, understandably, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Starcom (which is a G.I. Joe-type show, which lasted for only 13 episodes, but a solid show with more than solid animation and voice-work). Just a few others I remember quite fondly and recommend to fans of the 1980s and early 90s adventure-sci fi animated shows.

Great list, and yes Saturday Morning Cartoons were the best; as well as the late afternoon ones during the week. In my personal opinion there were other gems such as Tranzor-Z, Rubix Cube, Richie Rich, Looney Tunes, The Puppies Further Adventure, Spectre Man, Pink Panther, The Herculoids, Super Friends, Shirt-Tales, Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, Woody Woodpecker, Tom & Jerry, Flintstones, Casper, Jem, Mister T, Pole Position, Wacky Races, Captain Caveman and Son, Speed Racer, Spider-Man, Duck Tales, and many, many, more. Although all of these weren't made in the 80's, they all ran in the 80's, and made for hours of enjoyable, as well as memorable television viewing for young and old alike.

Because back then we couldn't go back and watch the episode at our own convenience. We had to wait for it to re-air and hopefully we were watching it when it did. So I waited, that didn't work out for my parents, so I got a spanking and had to sit in the hallway and listen to the rest of the episode. As a man, I rewatched the entire series to try to figure out which episode it was, it been 30 plus years I didn't remember which one it was on that particular day. Lol

Great job on this list! It's nice to see some lesser known gems like Mighty Orbots, Galaxy Rangers and the Mysterious Cities of Gold here. Also, here are a couple you might consider for future videos... Saber Rider & the Star Sheriffs - WEP's follow-up to Voltron appeared around the same time as Galaxy Rangers and Bravestar and covered similar terrain, though it was probably the strongest of the three. Robotech - Building on the likes of Star Blazers (also not on this list) and Battle of the Planets, Robotech really brought mainstream awareness to anime in the U.S. The show is serialized, multi-generational, features characters with a lot of depth, and brought us some of the most memorable animated episodes of the 80's. :)

@@snakefriesia6808 Indeed, I have watched all of the original Japanese anime versions. I thought HG did a pretty good job considering how quickly it was all put together. The minimum requirement was, I believe, 65 episodes for daily syndication, or 13 weeks of programming. The same thing was done with Voltron, which had 52 episodes of Beast King GoLion and 52 episodes of Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.

Yeah, it was something that just can't really be described anymore. Everything now is scheduled playdates with one particular friend, or a party with multiple, usually with exact times and pre-planned activities. At least for suburban life, in the 80's/90's, it was simply, "Mom, I heading outside", usually with a yell "Be back for supper" or something similar, and you went out the door and headed to where your best friend was or when to a nearby park/playground. If you had a bike, you could easily be anywhere within a mile or three from home, without any contact with your parents and they didn't really know where you were other than outside, unless you were getting yelled at by some other parent who knew you and called your parents up... You had the freedom to just show up at someone's house and ask if your friend was able to play, and most times that meant they simply then joined you and you went and grabbed others and soon you had a gang of 4-10 and would do all kinds of stuff. Play kickball, soccer, basketball, baseball, street hockey, go biking, skateboarding, build your own bike tracks in backlots and woodded areas without homes, paintball, laser tag... If you were lucky to be close enough to a mall or skate park or arcade, well, that became a hangout, sometimes it would be to the friend that had a pool, or the one who had a partial finished basement with video game consoles and a TV. It was dynamic, flowing fun, with the group heading to different places, going to pickup others, some splitting off as they had to go home, some staying at park to play basketball, or leaving to go play video games. Almost everything chosen by us kids at that time, with the rare exception of being ordered out by a parent if we were causing too much noise or getting out of control. As for Saturday mornings, most would being hanging out at their own home, but one or two would trickle out to a nearby friend's home and watch stuff together as a small group. We always had a place for that friend or two who's parents were not really getting along and they would get out of the house so they didn't have to hear the fighting going on because both parents were at home together. To this day I believe that is much better option than what current kids have to deal with in those situations, and I think it saved lots of trauma from being inflicted on someone who wasn't ever at fault of that situation from having to be stuck in it. Spending the whole day out with your friends was a much better option that stuck at home... Also you forgot a couple in that list that I don't even see mentioned in comments, like Gummi Bears, Captain N: The Game Master, Camp Candy, or The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians?

I thank God that I was born in 78 to experience Everything 80s. The cartoons, music, movies, public school, Wrestling, everything was so memorable and entertaining. I loved to sing along to the theme music to many of these cartoons, especially Thundercats, He-man, The Smurfs, Shining Time Station, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Chipmunks, and Ducktales to name a few. All I needed was some Honey Smacks, peanut butter and jelly sandwich and my mornings were lit!
You’ve got them all except one which was my favorite.. “BlackStar”. The adventures of John BlackStar and the Torbits. 👍🏼🤘🏼✌🏼

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I still watch many of these on my tablet as I'm falling to sleep at night! Two of my absolute favorites that are missing from this list: Robotech and Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
I can't tell you how Glad I am To be an 80s Kid. I'm 47 now and I'm more than thrilled I had the chance to have as a child The BEST CARTOONS EVER!! And the Toys To go along with them. And im surprised you missed a few Cartoons. JEM, CARE BEARS, RAINBOW BRIGHT, POPPLES. GUMMIS BEARS, MUPPET BABIES.
I cannot not comment on this. You managed to walk me through my childhood! The 80s cartoons where the best, building our imagination and made us dream! Which I have to say, nowadays our kids cannot think about! Brilliant video! Thank you
I think Ulysses 31 was missed from this list, what an age to grow up in with all those decent cartoons 👌🏻 nice video.
I had to watch this. Brings back great memories and nostalgia. Loved these cartoons when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing!

Thundercats had the most amazing soundtrack. More than once I'd shut my eyes and just listen to the background music. Amazing stuff
I remember watching almost all of these at one point or another growing up. So many memories here. Personally I would have added Gummi Bears, Captain N The Game Master, Care Bears, Muppet Babies, Pound Puppies, Flintstone Kids, Pac-Man, and The Biskitts. CBS Storybreak, Inspector Gadget, Tailspin, Chip and Dale Rescue Ranger, Duck Tales, and Shirt Tales. I can't think of anymore but there are plenty more to be mentioned. (Some of these were in the video I found out after the fact)
I was born in 1980, I was weened on these cartoons. Waking up Saturday mornings for the my weekly dose. Its true they don't make em like this any more, Mask, brave star, transformers, jayce and the wheeled warriors pure class. Gummie bears 'bouncing here and there and every where' was another guilty pleasure. My kids ask me about what I used to watch when I was a kid, I show them these and they are blown away. Man that’s cool as hell… I had the Hulk lunch box with its thermo cup the lunch box was all metal n juz the other day I saw it on eBay for a couple of hundred dollars

Lucky me to be alive as a kid in the 80’s watching some of the best cartoons ever made every Saturday mornings.
Born in 1984.... best cartoons in THE WORLD!!! 80s and 90s were insane! Very intelligent thoughtfull inspiring stories about bravery and space and technology... even the soundtracks were METAL and Rock music!! Now everything feels dumbed down...
This is a buffet of nostalgia. Only a few names here that I don't remember. Chase and the Wheeled Warriors, so many 80's kids I've talked to say they've never heard of it. Makes me think it didnt get a wide syndication, but that show was amazing.
I'm 52 years old I remember all of these cartoons like it was yesterday. I couldn't wait for Saturday mornings or after school for that matter, would run straight home and park myself right in front of the TV.

@@fallenkell I see that it brought back fine memories in you👍 Some youths actually told me they would love to be raised in the 80/90's over 2010's and so on. That makes it even better. There will always be some intros missed. I think Exosquad and Wing Raiders weren't mentionned as well? But those were 90's then I think

Galaxy High was definitely memorable!
I was born 1981 so I grew up with these series in books, comic and on TV. Many mentioned here were ones I know and several I'd never heard of! Perhaps that's because I live in the UK. Many new series to explore and add to my collection, still popular with those who remember today as then if not even more so.
Top 50!? I couldn’t even name 50 and I watch a lot of cartoons in the 80’s.
Being born in 1978, I was a prime target to have watched every one of these.

Saturday mornings in the 80's were like religion for those of us who were kids at that time. Add in a bowl of cereal, and the morning was complete.
If I still had all my old cartoon toys and action figures that I had as a 80s kid, I’d be a rich man today. I was born in 76, and I lived thru the best of the last and the best there would ever be
Urodziłem się w 1983 roku i powiem Wam ....lata 80 To były najlepszelata mojego życia płatki i kreskówki, filmy, zabawki, muzyka, sposób myślenia absolutnie żadnaina inna dekada nie jest taka jak ta
What about Jem? One of the best theme songs ever and beloved by many a Gen X girl. And Gummi Bears! That was fantastic! Can’t believe you missed those 2!

I miss these cartoons, the 80s were the best
80’s for cartoons were the best hands down and I feel blessed to have been a part of that era! Excellent list and commentary! From my memory, some classics missed off your list were…Ulysses 31, Muppet Babies, Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds, Galaxy High, Bananaman, GoBots, Gummi Bears, The Racoons and SuperTed. Maybe because I grew up in the UK these were missing but trust me they were also kids favourites!
