Tennessee has mild weather. Kinda hot summers but not like Texas or the southwest, and winters are mild, sub zero temps are rare. One of the few advantages of living in the south.

We're moving to TN this summer after my military retirement, we have it narrowed down to like 6 areas, in Chattanooga, specifically Hixson/Middle Valley and Soddy Daisy, those three fit the the search criteria...what would be your choice out of those three for Chattanooga? We're also interested in three places by Knoxville. Great video man.

You're comment about the gloomy weather has me rofl! I currently live in the 2nd most gloomy city in the US. Anchorage Alaska is the only city that is considered more gloomy. I would love to only have gloomy days 1/3 of the winter! We can go weeks without seeing the sun during the winter. I'd love to live where it wasn't so gloomy all winter.

Brutal! At least you make up for it in summer haha. I worked in Alaska for a summer a few years back and remember seeing sunsets/sunrises at 4 am. But yes, dark winters can be tough!

@@livinginchattanoogatn actually no. There are plenty of cloudy days during the summer 🙄 Question for you - the rain in the Chattanooga area. Are they like real raindrops or a fine mist like here in OR? I was watching another video and he said something about it being a sprinkle.

Please research your comment about “most” houses having basements or crawl spaces. While many of the older homes and those built in hilly communities have these, most of the new communities that are sprawling out at a rapid pace are built on slabs. Anyone concerned about the ever-increasing amount of tornadoes in this area might be limited to looking at older homes or fixer-uppers for that reason (or just know that you’ll be headed to that inner first-floor bathroom for shelter!). And for those of us living here for any amount of time, we’ve also seen such a rapid increase in housing prices due to the influx of people that native young people are feeling the pinch, like everywhere else, of not being able to purchase their first home at a price that they used to think was a “steal” compared to other parts of the country.

It's kinda hilarious that, as a licensed realtor, you didn't think to get a radon test when your bought your home. Stopped listening at that point because, as a random dude that doesn't sell houses for a living, I got a radon test on my house purchase because of a competent realtor.

I was not a licensed realtor when I bought my home, and no realtors were part of the transaction. I had to figure a lot of this stuff out on my own. Because of that experience and the many other clients I’ve helped buy and sell homes, I now know what to look for

Born and raised in Chattanooga - in East Chattanooga went to Kirkman High School now live in Nashville - don't move to Chattanooga this place sucks unless you like small crappy towns - yes if you love outdoors stuff (hiking, camping, kayaking, etc.) this place is a mecca and it is a beautiful city in natural beauty other than that don't do it - we used to say the only thing good about Chattanooga is that it was close to a lot of other places you can be in Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, or Knoxville all within 2 hours...Memphis, Orlando, Charlotte, the beaches in South Carolina or North Florida in six hours - that is the only great thing about this place. I bet this guy moves within 2 years. And the cost of living is exploding in Tennessee because people are moving here in droves from the coast due to the no state tax - and cheaper housing compared to where they are from.

The only climate change that we’re experiencing is the change that the government is bringing on, it’s not natural. It’s not from global warming, it’s not from gasoline Depot missions, it’s not from woodburning fire places and it’s certainly not because o eating too much meat.🤦‍♀️
