Things I HATE About My 2024 Toyota Tundra

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I talk about things I HATE about my new 2024 Toyota Tundra. Well, hate may be a strong work for some of these things, but If I had to create a list of pros and cons about this truck, these things would make the list. Drop a comment below if you agree or disagree with me on these things, of if you have other questions for me. Enjoy!

Getting rid of your tundra and getting a 1988 car from a junkyard for parts and then using the parts to make a pair of metal shoes and then walking to your destination is a better option than owning this vehicle.

@@TRDadLife Interior rattle noise above the passenger side and a clicking noise from underneath the truck when accelerating. These were a number of many other issues. One last thought, double check if you don’t have any missing bolts, as my front bumper was missing four bolts causing my bottom lights to vibrate at night. Hopefully you don’t encounter any of these issues. Good luck🫡

I am getting roughly 20 MPG. Little wind noise. I think some of the issues are vehicle specific. I’m not a fan of the turning radius, stock sound system not real loud (JBL would be better I’m sure). Overall smooth ride love my 24.

Heyy men I just crossed over your video and played it and the I took my tundra platinum 2024 trd offroad to the dealership 3 times in a row and they told me the 3 times that they don’t hear nothing so I decided to take a break on that because I was using my only day off just to spend almost the whole day in the dealership just to say that they don’t know what I’m talking about but it’s the same exact noise I always tough that it was coming out of the air vent from my driver side

If you have a rattle in your air vent it’s probably a screw that got dropped in there. The dealership heard it they just don’t care. After Toyota gets your money they don’t want to see you again.

This new tundra won’t use 10th gear WITHOUT bigger tires. Bet your not getting past 8th gear with 35s. I bought a ‘24 sr model for my business and have been driving it daily last few weeks. It does not shift to 10th (honestly isn’t needed with the stupid 3.31 rear gear). Searched around last night and pretty much none of them will use 10th gear! Mine is a lowly SR model bone stock. Flat pavement, zero wind, babying it. Will not shift to 10th! Was to tell is- put it in “s” mode and shift thru the gears. You’ll notice when you shift to 10th there is ZERO rpm drop and also if you downshift from 10th it automatically goes to the next gear lower than what it’s currently in. My line drops to 8th every time! Tried from 60-80mph, with and without cruise, in and out of “s” mode (runs same rpm as 9th at the different speeds I checked it at) so we all have a 9 speed trans but paid for a 10 speed! Toyota engineers just ain’t what they used to be and this is NOWHERE NEAR as capable a truck as the 2nd gen. Yea they are nice and look good but I like to get what I pay for! $40k for an SR work truck is ridiculous but would paid close to that in any brand. Almost went ford. Wish I had

That’s an interesting piece of insight for sure - I’ll keep an eye on that and see if I notice the same thing. Yeah, the unfortunate reality is all the truck brands are a ton of $$$ now, and the Tundra actually comes in cheaper than some of the competitors of equal trim levels. Overall I’m happy with my purchase and hope it turns out to be as reliable as my 2015 Tundra was, we will see!

Let me get the straight, you modified the truck and put more rolling mass at the axil and have the nerve to complain about the MPG. That's just silly.

  • @TRDadLife

Well trunk monkey, I mentioned several things regarding MPG’s in the video: 1. I mentioned the poor MPG’s aren’t a surprise to me 2. I mentioned even before modifying the wheels and tires my MPG’s sucked 3. I mentioned that obviously MPG’s weren’t a factor in purchasing the truck However, if you gotta make a pros and cons list of a new truck like this, MPG’s are bound to make the cons. I owned a 2015 Tundra with a 3” lift and 35’s, and I averaged about 12.5 MPG’s, so part of me was hoping that with the V6 and years of engineering, I’d be doing better than just +0.5 vs the previous gen 🤷🏽

No complaints here 😁 just pointing out facts for those that are interested in buying a Tundra. I was going high 70’s on highway 35 to record that wind whistle clip, but my MPG average is based on an average speed of about 60 MPH. I’ve averaged worse MPG’s with my old Platinum Tundra on 35’s, and my modded Grand Cherokee SRT - this was just a friendly warning for people to not buy the new Tundra expecting killer MPG’s 😁
