    Someone once said that "fleeing poverty isnt a reason to seek asylum". At first I was offended because my parents came to the country *legally* for a better life. But after that I realised that its true. There are plenty of impoverished people here. If you wanted to help people get a better life, youd have to help your own citizens first before you help outsiders. Honestly NYCers need to recall their DA. Elton County recalled their mayor and voted out the sheriff that was buddy buddy with her. The DA that excused her familys crimes are on the cutting block. Like are we seriously going to forget what happened to Jose Alba? If you dont do something its just gonna get worse

    Let me cut to the chase. When there are 34,000 cops who work for NYPD and they can't control this there is a leadership problem. I live in Jacksonville and there are tons of illegals here. This city is over 800 square miles but you don't see that mess here because we believe in law and order. We may fight over politics but when crime increases we all come together and raise hell starting with the Mayor. New Yorkers must unite, protest and demand change. Thousands of New Yorkers should be outside of Adams office everyday demanding that he resign and the Police Chief too.

    exactly i also think people are just letting the government do what it pleases. I honestly think taxes should be reduced to a 1% of a regular working person's income, 3% of an aspiring entrepreneur, 5% of a conglomerate etc. etc. the government shouldn't be taking half of our paychecks if the people don't unite, then everything is going to get worse, ignored, controller...and what else.. ...

    @bobhoward6676, you're a 1,000 percent right! His "elitist" masters are incentivizing him to do their bidding like the others and he is compliant in pulling Joe's strings. Consider that Joe can barely walk or speak and yet he just signs his name where it's needed whilst Obama/others are calling the shots all whilst Joe and his crooked family are enriched in the process. For this cabal of criminals, it's a "win/win" in their eyes. They don't realize that as much evil as they may _seem_ to "get away with" on this Earth, there is one place where they won't escape it and that's standing before God in the day of His judgment where they will have to give an account of their wickedness and there will be no excuses, no appeals, no coercion/bribery nor threats of this Judge whose judgement is righteous and final.... Their only hope is to be truly transformed by repenting, receiving Christ as Savior and Lord and their lives bearing fruit as a testament. The fruit they bear now, is that of the wicked who serve themselves and their father the devil.

    Honestly there was a time when I thought what they were doing was a great idea. I read some very liberal books and saw some TeD talks. I was like wow, you can go to jail for petty theft and because you went to jail your chances of being a career criminal is now 80% because you fell off. Maybe this needs to change. It was all supposed to be logical and rational. But now we have this effect where you do petty theft and don't get punished at all your chaces of being a career criminal is now 100% because its totally FREEE. Plus if you were never a criminal and simply witnessed this degeneracy you have a % chance of joining in because its FREEEEEE. They tried their experiment and it failed. Now they are doubling down lol. This should be in a TeD talk itself. Hey!! When you F up. Don't double down!!

    Here is a potential solution. Retailers mark up everything for sale over $10,000. when customers shop they will get a discount that makes the price right, but when its stolen. The retailer can report that apples were stolen that were priced $10,000 each. Then perhaps these thieves can go to jail. I don't believe the judges can say that the value of an apple isn't $10,000. Even the retailers can get together and do the same thing with the same $10,000 prices just to ensure the courts don't try to put a value on the apples etc. Its a free market. There isn't any government say on what merchandise can be sold for.

But the day-to-day definitions of 'guilty' or 'innocent' are far simpler. Did you steal something? Then you're guilty of theft. That's why you can feel a sense of guilt for doing something wrong even if no one else even knows. Here's another way to think about it: You can be innocent of a crime yet found guilty in court. By the same logic, you can be guilty of a crime yet not found guilty in court.

    Here's what you do. It's really very simple. You design your store like they used to be in the olden days. You have a counter up front and have all your stock in the store room behind you. The customer tells you what they want and you bring it up to the front for them. Have a computer up front for the customers to search things and have enough staff to help the customers individually. I've worked in different stores my whole life that operate like this and it is definitely an under appreciated model.

    This was EXACTLY my idea for all of the grocery stores and Targets that were being looted. Either they order online or have kiosks in the front where they can choose their items. Then have just a warehouse in the back where people fulfill their orders and bring them out to the customers.

  • @johnseah957

    @johnseah957

    There used to be a nationwide chain that followed this model, Consumer Distributing. You would pick your item out of a catalog, fill out a form and pay for it, then your item would be brought out from the warehouse in back. That business went under back in the 90's. However, B&H Photo on 39th and 9th Ave still follows this for inventory control. They have some lower priced items out on display, but for the pricier lenses and cameras, you pay for the item and then it comes out from the back on a conveyor belt.

    Sometimes the actual STORE OWNERS hire people to steal from their stores to commit insurance fraud. In this case store owners can hire people to steal, commit insurance fraud, AND sell their own "stolen" items on the internet or on the street. A couple of years ago when the PS5 came out one reason why they were hard to get is because of insider theft & price gouging because some store employees were overcharging and helping to steal them to sell on the street and online.
