People commenting on "classic tsitsipas" etc obviously didn't see the match. Thiago would have won any opponent with how good he played. He was out of this world.

No one could beat the Brazilian guy today. He may lose next match but today’s statistics were impressive.His first serve success rate was out of this world. Tsitsipas did not play bad. From these highlights it looked as if Tsitipas was having the same old problem - getting no penetration on his backhand. So many of them seemed to be landing around the service line.

Wow! Was not expecting that! The power of underestimating an opponent was a learning lesson for Tsitsipas . Although Tiago played great and was very aggressive, Tsitsipas came out flat. His shots were short for the most part and he did not adjust or come to the net more when he needed to. When you do not go all out and you hold back and the other player does, and does not hold back, the other player wins. Performance inconsistencies along with not playing fearless and not vetting your opponents ahead of time have been and will continue to be the reason why Tsitsipas struggles and has not won more tournaments. He struggles always with left handers and I do not think has done enough to change or adjust his play against them. There was talk of Tsitsipas being the favorite to win this tournament and others on clay. I guess that talk was silenced very quickly seeing today's results. Disappointing once again. Let's see if he can regroup for Italy and Roland Garros again

Monteiro has always been a dangerous player since 2016... he can take it to the very best against a multitude of players of different eras. It's just rare for him to stay fit and healthy to help him fulfill his weapon-armed potential and when he's well, he really goes for it and he's finally got another huge scalp. One of the best performances we've seen from him and living up to his dangerous floater reputation once more.
