Mental illness isn't taken seriously. It's treatable but the healthcare system needs an upgrade to actually address it. Various parasites, toxoplasmosis, brain inflammation, multiple sclerosis, dementia, etc can all cause symptoms of conditions like schizophrenia.

Good morning Coco Boy, also on Sundays (the Guyanese locals like myself when I lived there), will go to one of the creeks on the Linden Highway. One more note one the water on the seawall where you are now, it’s the soil that makes the water color like that. Georgetown is below sea level and the Dutch built the seawall to protect the town and keep the sea from eroding the coast line. So the soil that is there now is called silt soil that the rivers deposit on the beach from the higher in land areas. Enjoy Guyana and I hope you will visit one of the creeks on the Linden Highway on a Sunday midday to afternoon time is when most ppl go there to swim and have a good time. Again if you do go, please stop at the Linden Highway and the East Bank public road and ask anyone where does Pasty has her eatery. If she is there please tell her that Baldhead told you to visit her there and have a cold Guyanese Banks Beer on me lol

I believe that you are talking about bars on the beach like they have in a lot of Caribbean countries. Yes, Guyana is not a beach country with bars on the beaches or hotels on the beaches. Because we are not known as a tourist country because of our beaches. We lack blue water beaches. But we don’t have a lot of bars. Guinness Bar is one example.

Coco boy, coconut is scarce because the coconuts come from the northwest of the country and there's a drought. The water is muddy because the large rivers dump all their sediments (mud) into the Atlantic. The Essequibo River (btw Essequibo belongs to Guyana, is one of the largest South American continent). It's actually good for your skin to swim in the water or put the mud on your body (not dissimilar to a mud mask you buy in the store to put on your face, especially if you have acne. For the record, there are bars everywhere. Each village has at least one rum shop!

Guyana doesn't have clubs or bars? Lol! While I haven't been to Guyana in a few years, all I did was party. Guyana has lots of what are locally called "RUM SHOPS". There were clubs on Sheriff street, Main st. (Palm Court and and a club at Tower Hotel). White Castle Fish Shop (where the party can even spill out onto the street) and the Beer Garden. There were a number of bars on the West Bank across the stadium and Aracari Resort. Even strip clubs like Baroom bar and Red Dragon. TBH most of the clubs and bars in Guyana would appeal to other Caribbean people, not sure about international travelers...unless you enjoy reggae, soca, chutney and HEAVY on the dancehall. There was a place called Hibiscus Lounge where the white people went. The Georgetown Seawall would get wild on a Sunday night. I don't know how accurate my info is, as some places may be gone now, but I heard others have opened too. Listen to the local radio for events, check the tv or online.
