I will also add that it's very important to understand that in the eyes of God marriage is NOT a contractual agreement - but a Covenant relationship. Anyone that attends a same sex marriage is attending an unbiblical cursed covenant. I don't have time to develop a full topical exegesis here, but dear reader, let that sink in. Let me also add, I see many (almost all) refuse to call out names because they think it's unchristian. It's interesting that never entered the mind of the Apostle Paul. He even name drops on several occasions and in 2 Tim mentions names and hands them over to Satan on what the church today would call a minor doctrinal difference.

I have the new wh 1000XM5 headphones and I sleep with them, I use them constantly to listen to you and other Christian KZreadrs along with other videos I probably shouldn't watch. I appreciate that you use the old wh 1000XM3 or XM4 version of the same headphones. It really shows that you don't care about the newest tech and the best tech. Pastor Begg has been faithfully preaching the Word of God by Chapter and Verse for some 40‐45 years. I have heard and read so much about him needing to repent, and even being dropped from a so called Christian radio station. From all these Christians like yourself, the word seems to be Condemnation and no mention of !! FORGIVENESS !! I have listened to you a lot, but think I will cut back a little, and really think about what you say and how you express your feelings. I will be praying for you. 🙏💕🇺🇲

I used that same example this past Sunday. I also reminded the congregation that the medically assisted termination would happen anyway. So would the sinful union. The real question is, can human go too far? God sees all; however, we should not. It thing Acts 15 plays a role in this instance.

We in the world, even if not of the world, "...sin daily and much...." Did not Jesus go TO the worst sinners of His Day? He called Matthew the reviled tax collector, Peter the hard-nosed fisherman and no doubt most of the other disciples were as bad. Does not the church exist to worship God AND to preach the forgiving mercy of the Gospel, even to chronic sinners and their chronic sins? If not, do we go after the gossipers (is there more gossip than at a church??), those who covet and are jealous, those who are alcoholics and occasionally fall "off the wagon" not to mention gluttony and the chronic over-eating that has infected American society with massive obesity rates along with the disease (including cancer) that such brings? Where's the list of sins and sinners we are to minister to or exclude? Do we not preach and teach Jesus's pure words of love, mercy and grace and allow God to be the perfect Judge on the appointed hour and day? Are our sanctuaries rather courtrooms and our teachers/leaders judges instead of shepherds? These are difficult questions and I recall the day when interracial marriage was a sin; when a mentally ill sufferer of major depression/bipolar/schizophrenic who commits suicide was deemed hell-bound and unworthy of a church sanctuary funeral and when even commiserating with other races (Germans vs. Russians, Italians vs. French, et al ). Do we err on the side of excluding even one sinner over maintaining some type of faux religious purity? As Jesus said (besides "do not judge") let he who is without sin cast the first stone as well as '...the well do not need of a physician but only the sick.' Are our churches agents of both truth and healing or just truth? THAT may be the ultimate question we need to figure out.

I am a Christian grandmother who is attending a Baptist church. My grandchildren are Catholic (I was born Catholic. ) They know that I believe in God, His Word, and live it! They do not ask me to attend their functions because they are not consistent with the Word of God. I have actually given each each of the a copy of my Bible which is the 1997 NKJV Nelson Study bible. Also 1 Corinthians 2:14 says the natural man does not understand the things of the Spirit so Alistair's comment is not right...the grandson couldn't appreciate the grandmother's beliefs. I loved the everything about how you covered this subject...

What bothered me more than his original error was his sermon where he gave a re-imagined interpretation of The Prodigal Son. He twisted the Scripture to make his point. I couldn't believe I was hearing it from Mr. Begg. Very disheartening.

Then he went further insulting American fundamentalist as not being equipped/ or smart enough to recognize NUANCE. But he and his faithful generals from the UK are capable of such nuance. The position of Andy Stanley permitting those practicing homosexuality to be deacons, ushers, etc is not the same as Pastor Begg. Pastor Beggs church doesn't allow homosexual practicing persons to be married in church or hold any office or give message from the pulpit. He and the church hold the practice as sin. The woman's grandson doesn't practice Christianity. She wanted to provide a channel for communication and opportunities to have relationship with God. She gave him a Bible as a wedding gift. Equating Andy Stanley with Alistair Begg is wrong. I suspect many Christians have attended non-Christian weddings or weddings where we have no idea about the faith of the couple.

The question is simple: Whom do you love more, do you love JesuseChrist or the world? No one talks more about hell than JesusChrist did, and Bible talks about people like this, that some of the elect will fall. There is only one I put my trust in, that is JesusChrist, I won't put my trust in men.

Homosexuality is not something to be proud of, excused or tolerated. But also we should lovingly warn these lost people of the consequences of this abnormal lifestyle. Yes love your neighbor like a brother or a friend, do no harm to them. We are Not supposed to participate in their celebration by gifting them, congratulating, attending or even selling them anything that promotes the sin. It is a sexual sin lifestyle. Do not discriminate for a job position, if they qualify just because they are gay. However, We should not allow a gay person, prostitute, rapist or pedophile hold a position in church. no matter what the law says. We answer to a Higher Power. But we are witnessing more and more Pastors accepting worldly views on biblical principles. It is causing more real Christians to leave the church or split the church over this because they have trusted in men instead of God. The days are getting more evil and the coming of The Lord is closer. Many of the elect are being decieved by the enemy's voice. God does not compromise His standards, God is unchanging. He will hold those in the pulpit to a higher responsibility.

I think he should repent and resign. A shepherd who leads his flock astray cannot be a good shepherd. I am not saying that if he repents he should not ever be a part of ministry but I am saying that he should not lead.

Personally, I think the church’s moral slide began with pastors marrying people on their second and third marriages with no regard to the Bible and the circumstances around these new relationships. It doesn’t surprise me that the church is a hot mess. I am a professional church musician and I stopped playing weddings altogether back when I was called to play the many weddings of the same person. That is how common it became.

Yes, marriage, divorce and re-marriage is too common and people divorce for ANY reason now, except what is outlined in scripture.

I cry because I'm in a situation where an unscriptual divorcemay happen to me. I'm concerned for my wife's eternal life and my lifelong loneliness. The churches practice legalism like the pharisees. Even adding abuse and addiction to biblical divorce. Or grace to a second adulterous marriage. Just ask for forgiveness and ypur adultery goes away and keep living in it. The two wrongs dont make a right or ypu cant unscramble eggs divorce. 5:12

Thank you for your show of compassion to Pastor Begg despite his error. Just as we "hate the sin but love the sinner" I love Pastor Begg and am grateful for the light he has shown on many Biblical truths. He is, however, a man and, therefore, fallible.

Thank you John Henry for your fair and biblical presentation on this issue. The Word of God is very clear on the matter. We need to pray for Pastor Begg and that God's glory will shine in this difficult moment for all parties affected by this situation.

I've been listening to Begg for 8-10 years and listened to him preach on Romans many times. I'm so disappointed in his belief on this subject. If my own pastor and synod allowed such a thing I would leave that church in a heartbeat.

Maybe he was a wolf in sheep's clothing, a false teacher from the beginning because a true man of God wouldn't turn against God's word, His grace and mercy so quickly.

​@@slimdude2011 My concern is that at some point Begg wandered from his personal relationship with Jesus. Were there any indications of his drifting from the Savior? We are all prone to drift, but we also need to be accountable to someone who can see the drifting and correct the drifter.

So is the stampede of "cancel culture". So many here seem eager to cancel Begg's salvation. They don't bother to question if they are motivated by or fighting with the flesh. The issue is a political hot button issue: why worry if the weapons of our warfare are carnal or not?

The Bible, Gods word, speaks very strongly against sexual immorality. In the old and new testament. I love how you used other examples to show how we cannot compromise. Jesus never compromised. We as Christians cannot compromise for any reason. Thank you for this exceptional explanation.

Brother John, this was another excellent discussion about how dangerous it is to compromise. Many people are afraid of the backlash caused by standing on Yah's word, but what they seem to be forgetting is that Yahweh sees their disgust for his word. Once one compromise is made, it opens the door to the slippery slope of many more. Thank you for standing.

I think you are spot on I didn’t feel upset at Alistair I felt upset for him. It’s a huge deal what AB did and didn’t do. He gave the woman very unbiblical advice. He sounded more like Andy Stanley. That’s the issue and that’s why it’s still a hot topic. AB’s rebuttal covers so much territory. He’s trying to defend his position but he can’t cite scripture to back it up because there isn’t any. Then he’s being accusatory! He has A LOT to repent of. He chose to die on this hill.

He already said his number one thought was the relationship of the grandmother and grandson when it should have been the grandmother and JESUS RELATIONSHIP

You did a very good job covering this subject. What I find disturbing is that the grandmother in question was probably looking for support in what she knew was the right thing to do as a Christian, to not go. He probably shocked her with his response. He’s supposed to support people in following the Bible. Instead, he left a grandmother swinging in the wind. That is heartbreaking.
