Frank! So glad you found Tuk Smith! I have 2 Biters albums on vinyl as well as the “Ballad of a Misspent Youth” ep. Like you, I was absolutely blown away the first time I heard the Biters. For my 2 cents, I’ve never heard a bad song. Originally from the Atlanta area I think he has re-located to the Nashville area now. SO good. I try to spread the word on them to anyone who likes rock. Enjoy your vids keep up the great work!

Tuk Smith was the lead singer for Biters. I have two of their CDs and they're really solid. Read somewhere that "Reach Out" (off the 'Heavy Metal' soundtrack) was one of Tuk's favorite Cheap Trick songs. It's a a Top 5 CT track for me, so that earned him points in my book. THX, Frank!

Check out Tuk Smiths latest 2 single releases “Glorybound” and “Take the Long Way”. You won’t be disappointed. Killer stuff.

I pre-ordered and got the new Black Crowes Album when it first came out. I’m liking it! Definitely a good rock album to listen through start to finish.

Slowly rebuilding my vinyl back up. Ended up with Les Baxter - Space Escapade. Cool looking album. Have about 40 now!

Didn't even know Black Crowes were still around. Haven't listened to them probably since the 90's. Thanks for the tip on those 2 other albums. Will be checking those out very soon.

Tuk smith is great. Check out electric blood by the Biters. His previous band. Stunning album. Tuk has a new album out in August with two singles already released for this forthcoming release. Power pop madness at its best!

Tuk Smith was in a band called the Biters too- go back and listen to it! And the TIP is now called LOOSE LIPS they play at Kid Rocks’s Honkey Tonk in Nashville many nights a week!

I saw Tuk Smith open up for Jared James Nichols a little while ago last year. Both were fantastic

8:54 Great music reviews as usual, Frank, and I agree that there is a lot of excellent new music out there, particularly if people take the time to look or expand their musical tastes a bit away from their safe favourites. I've bought plenty of releases from new bands or artists over the past few years by discovering affordable albums online, checking out the tracks on KZread first, and then committing to ordering the album or buying it more locally. I picked up a copy of The Black Crowes' "Croweology" that blew me away and put them back on my radar. It's a greatest hits album, but played unplugged with some new arrangements that sounds amazing on vinyl...highly recommended.

Well, YOU are the vinyl "Denman". If you like Tuk Smith, you probably also like The Struts from the UK, great band. My discovery this week has been Robert Jon and the Wreck. Incredibly talented modern southern rock/blues band with a great discography. Instant fan! Cheers Frank.

LOVE LOVE TUK Smith & the Restless Hearts! They are great guys! And LOVE LOVE the Struts! If Mick Jagger & Freddie Mercury had a love child… it would’ve been Luke Spiller! Killer voice and great showmanship!

I love the new Black Crowes. I streamed it and bought the CD. We just saw the live in Phoenix a few nights ago and they rocked. Great new album, in my opinion, their best since the second one. It rocks! A lot of great songs, definitely worth a vinyl (even though I went CD...) :-)

Frank! So glad you dug the stuff I sent... Tuk Smith - I fell in love with that album immediately. There is a japanese cd you can order which includes all of those songs, plus the 2 songs on the everybody loves you when your dead 45, plus three other unavailable elsewhere tracks. Also I'll add his previous band Biters is great. Particularly their last two albums are top notch. He has released two more singles recently and I think I heard a full length in july/August. The Tip's follow up album Sailors Grave, and Denman's follow up full length - raw deal, are both available on spotify. The Black Crowes- I'm a big fan of that band. I've followed them since the debut. While they will probably never touch Southern Harmony again, I think the new album is great. I really enjoy it. Also I saw the tour kick off last week. I've seen them.. I dunno.. 12/15 times, and they had an energy I haven't seen from them in a long time. Gone are the 20 minute jams.. it was BAM!! One rocker after another. If you get a chance to see this tour, you should.

Thanks again for all the music... it took me awhile to go through it all, but that's who I roll. I will definitely check out Biters, and will be ordering the new album when it comes out. Glad to hear the Crowes are rocking again... they kinda lost me in that 'jam band' period, or whatever you want to call it.

They are coming to Knoxville Tennessee USA and opening for Aerosmith soon

I am loving the new Crowes record. I’m a big fan to start with though so I may be a bit biased. Also, I added Ballad is a Misspent Youth to my playlist. Just a note that the vinyl may only have 6 tracks but the streaming version has 8.

Just listened to them and they are great! Thanks for the heads up I've never heard of them.

I've just listened to all Tuk Smith's songs on streaming including the covers. A unique voice and a talented guy. For some reason I keep hearing echoes of Bryan Adams. I only hear a snippet of AC/DC and the only reason he sounds like Slade is that one of his songs has part of one of their songs in it. I may get the ep when it comes out. I think he should concentrate on writing in a style of his own.

I've just looked on Amazon and KZread. The Album you showed is due in the UK 17/05. On KZread he also covers Hard Luck Woman. Was you aware that Lzzy Hale from Halestorm is the new vocalist for the band Skid Row.

@@lovekidrockforever I like some of his own group songs, but really enjoyed Biters. I shall be purchasing the ep Frank mentioned when released on a month's time and Biters before that. A great discovery all round.

It was quick, but good. I didn't have a lot of free time, but I did pop into Sonic Boom, Kops, and Paramusic. I didn't buy any records, but I did grab a couple movies at FYE.

Frank check out Mark Daly and the ravens from Ireland really good sound seen them live a few times got a new album coming out this summer highly recommend

Frank, do you ever listen to music that isn’t in English? Because of Spotify I’ve been listening to all kinds of music from all over the world. Greek thrash, Danish Death Metal, German beer drinking music, and all kinds of Spanish speaking rock/metal(look up Herpes (yes that’s the name), some Chinese/Mongolian rock, and pre Hispanic Mexican metal(CEMICAN). I don’t need to know the lyrics to enjoy the music. Does it help? Sure. But I can’t get past that if it rocks!! When people say “music today sucks” clearly aren’t looking

I wonder if we will ever get to the point where music doesn't "sound like" 90s or 80s etc. Like, can't music sound like 2024??

Well.. in fairness, there is also a ton of new music that sounds like 2024. Personally, I gravitate towards stuff with a more classic sound (I'm not a huge fan of modern production).
