    Hi ,just thought I'd send a BIG thank you for your efforts on the review. I've had this klipsch rp-1200sw for just over a week and it has transformed my audio ! Obviously my last 2 svs sb-1000 pros weren't cutting the mustard. Tempted to get another, but honestly don't know if it would even improve anything as it sounds amazing. Anyways , thank you mate for the time and effort you take on your work 👌 🔊

    Glad you're enjoying it my bro! The SB1000 Pro are still great little subs but they are A LOT smaller than a single RP1200 SW so no surprise even the single RP 1200SQ sounds bigger than a pair of 1000 Pro :) size really matters with subs and that RP1200SW is no joke!!

    Klipsch have made a big point about the new slot port, they designed in something they call an aerofoil design. The lack of port chuffing on these is not an accident, it's a result of the literal years they spent designing these units and shaping the entire port length into the sub. Again, compared to the PB 16 Ultra which is over a thousand bucks more, the RP1600SW has less chuffing (according to the single informal comparison I've seen on KZread) and I see no reason to doubt it, the SVS have several normal simple round ports.

    I just bought the 1600sw and there is noticeable chuffing but only on extremely low notes where the sound is at or below human hearing range so the chuffing is most noticeable under that condition

    Bought this to replace an SVS SB-3000 and the difference is significant. Huge, billowy, deep bass where the SVS lacks impact and realism. I have them paired with The Nines and crossed over at 55 hz. Klipsch claims their products elicit emotion, and they certainly deliver here.

    Good review Nemo! Klipsch does make some nice little speakers and subs. And fantastic advice to turn down the crossover settings. As you stated, most folks leave their sub(s) set at 80Hz and the volume cranked up. And then the placement, most folks simply place them next to the speakers. And I have been guilty of all of the above... I still have the SB3000 subs, x 2, and found placing them away from the speakers, in two separate but joined rooms, made a significant difference in the bass. Then checking the Hz rating on my speakers, a pair of ZU DW6 Supremes, at around 38Hz, I set the subs at roughly 40Hz as you recommend, and took the volume down into the 40's or lower db. They disappear in the rooms and I cannot "hear" the subs, and they add just enough bass to really make recordings sound outstanding. Keep up the good work sir!

    This will be a good upgrade for you, the single RP1200SW will be considerably more forceful around 20-40hz versus the pair of SB1000 pro's you had. I have both a rel ht1205 and Klipsch spl120 which was the earlier model to this and the Klipsch is fine. It doesn't go as deep but out of the box it is flatter in measurements and does go a lot higher making it easier to crossover. You can't really get away with anything over 80hz with the Rel so no puny satellite speakers need apply. That said after EQ the rel murders it and I prefer it so will eventually replace the Klipsch too but it's not bad at all.

    These new models and the SPL series aren't really comparable or even a replacement. This is like going from a Chevy cobalt to a Corvette. The SPL series at least the 12 inch had basically nothing under 30hz. Now the new series are more power and actual have useable output in the teens. This would murder an HT1205 almost comically in output. Audioholics tested the group delay and it's so low it won't sound bloated in comparison.

    @@justinbeamon6624 It doesn't get as low as the REL which isn't exactly designed for that kind of thing but with room gain and EQ it gets to 20Hz. tbh I don't think I have ever watched a movie or listened to a song that goes that low anyway. I'm more concerned with how it sounds from around 35 to 80 than going super low. You can't even "hear" bass below 20hz unless it's over 70db.

    How does the RP1200SW compare to the REL T/7X and T/9X? I have both of the RELs (plus a T/5X) and they are simply phenomenal speakers. They are so lightening quick, I have them paired with my Magnepan LRS+ magneplanar speakers, and they keep up with the transient response perfectly, and with ease - disappearing into thin air, adding so much musicality and clear, clean separation in bass regions. I'm not sure I'd ever consider (very seriously anyway) replacing my RELs, BUT, I do own a pair of Klipsch RP-600Ms and a RP-504C center channel and all 3 of them are amazing speakers in their own rite, truly transparent and so present. The RELs reinforce the low end on these Klipsch's equally well, but it's probably more noticeable when they're reinforcing the LRS+'s simply because the soundstage and speed of the Maggies is just so darned quick. Anyway, interested in hearing from anyone that has happened to have done this comparison - the new RP1200SW vs. the REL T/7X or T/9X. Thanks!

I Do listen to about 60% music an 40% HT. I have the Sonus Faber Sonetto V, which you are apparently not a fan of. Would you likely go with the RP-1400 of the Rythmik FVX12? I still think that there is too much competition for this sub to be worth it. The monolith 15 v1 can still be gotten for 1000 dollars which just obliterates this thing and rsl's sub def. Is hard to pass up for 200 cheaper. Hsu research again for similar to same price kills this with their 15 inch model. Rythmiks offereings run about the same price comparatively but are famously known for their supreme sound quality. Im more interested in their rp1600sw being a pb16 ultra upsetter. A very attractive, cost effective yet high performance sub.

  • @NemoPropaganda

    @NemoPropaganda

    Personally I havn't seen the monolith 15 under $1200 new which puts it at 50% more money than the RSL 12S and 25% more than the RP1200SW which is too new to have gone on sale yet. Hsu's $1000 15" is a sealed sub that most likely will not shame the RP1200SW and don't forget to add $100 or more for shipping, while they do have a vented 15" its a lot more money and again plus shipping. As far as the Rythmik they're mostly US only so people outside the USA need alternatives. The RP1200SW is really competing with the PB2000 Pro in my eyes, it's a little cheaper, will probably go on sale for even less, sure you get a few less features but you're also paying less so it's totally got its place in my book. I think its easy to glance around and think its not wroth it but when you start crunching the numbers its easy to see the RP1200SW will make a lot of sense for a lot of people.

    @@prasheelcheruvari101 No, most vented subs would not be described as natural sounding. if you want the output capability of a large vented sub but want the better sound quality you'll need something like a Rythmik E15hp2 or Rel Predator 1510. Hi Dave, my rule with subwoofers is you don't mix subwoofer brands with eachother meaning you don't have a golden ear subwoofer on the left and an SVS subwoofer on the right. Another rule that's good to follow is keep all your speakers the same brand so if your towers are Klipsch try to have Klipsch for your surrounds and center also. But yes you can totally have a different brand subwoofer than your main speakers for example all your speakers are Klipsch and maybe all your subwoofers are SVS, that would be awesomes and that's what most people do.

    Neither. Get a Rythmik FVX12. Far better subwoofer from a company that solely makes subwoofers. And damn good ones. Really any of their subwoofers through all of their price ranges beat the competition until you start getting above their FV18 which I have. That is end game for me and most, but if you want more you are probably stepping up to JTR Captivators. And Rythmik has the best customer service of any brand IMO. Brian and Enrico at Rythmik will answer their cell phones and answer any question you could possibly have and may even refer you to another brand if they don't offer a solution for you. Nemo, great review. However, a $1k and being the RP Model this sub should have a manual phase control at the minimum. No app, no speaker line high pass terminals, no remote, no balanced connections even up to their RP1600 line. Humm....I do however think it's a great sub (sonically and build quality) but for those in a home theater set looking to get multiple 2-4+ subs those omissions could be a deal breaker when compared to the competition in those price categories. In my man cave I have 2 ported subs and I plan on adding 2 more at some point (because I get stupid like that 😂) the only thing my AVP can't do is control individual sub phase and that lack of control on the sub to me isn't a risk I can take. @NemoPropaganda unless things have changed.. their subs were notorious for stop working or having issues. At least they were when I started this hobby during the pandemic. My first speakers were Klipsh speakers and almost everyone in the klipsh audio community wouldn't buy their subs. Speakers.. yes.. but they wouldn't buy the subs. Short life span I guess.
