Like Camping with Steve says, "It's time to Hunker Down"!
"The Passion of the Christ". At the end it was absolute, complete silence - except for the quiet sobbing.. Nobody moved, got up or talked. Never experienced it before or since.
Luke, what a great idea of establishing your "cabin" on Lone Wolf Mountain. I will resume my search for my mountain in March when the owners return to their mountain cottage I have been housesitting. Stay safe out there.

I agree, that's how I would want to do a "cabin", nice and simple.
I had that movie experience back in 1980 with The Elephant Man. Very sad and moving story about how badly people who are different are treated. The last part was VERY emotional and then the movie just stopped. No credits, no music, just dark. The lights came up and you were left to examine your own treatment of others. I have never been to a movie since that ended like that. Very powerful.

The Cabin = A box with wheels parked in the woods. Cool
My kids are grown, and my grandson will be one soon. I tried downsizing my truck when the kids moved out, but I'll never do that again. There were too many regrets on power, space, clearance, and off-road options for me. I'll never go away from full size again. Thanks Luke, keep pushing!

I find it interesting that you park your truck across the road instead of directly in front of the trailer. 🤷🏻

I'm with you on that! I use to rent a tiny house apartment it was 16ft wide 24ft long on the Bay with beach access about a mile private no public
Wow... that cabin is so worth it. From the added insurance of an emergency shelter to a weekend escape... it has repaid itself times over, especially with the changeable weather at the moment. Glad you are safe.
I like how you can't go anywhere without hearing how amazing of a movie Godzilla: Minus One is. Totally deserved!

First I've heard of it but I'll keep it in mind.
Two of the best movie experiences I've ever had were both comedies. The first Ace Ventura movie starring Jim Carrey and Something About Mary starring Ben Stiller. The crowds at the theater were what made those movies special, we were all there to have a good laugh and we all just rolled with the jokes.
Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 would be my first look, excellent vehicles IMO. Rain...😒 Staying dry is a plus, nice to have the trailer for this kind of use. Nice one Luke👍👈 Stay safe!
I’d put a aftermarket bumper on that tundra with a winch. It’s the handiest thing you never knew you needed until you do. Especially if I was over landing. I heard you say you didn’t like that but in Rome… I use my winch way more than I expected
Hey Luke, I noticed you kept going back to your Buddy Heater and warming your hands. We use a small rechargeable fan above ours and it's great. Almost like forced hot air. Thanks for making great content.
Sipping on a mug of my own home roasted coffee as I watch this. Today it's a Mexican bean from Oaxaca. Only heavy cream added to mine, no sweetener. Life is good.
Very very good movie...being re-released in black and white in February. Grew up watching these movies- totally agree...one of the best.
Luke im so happy now u can stay dry ,warm have a great time sleep better,
Hi Luke, your cabin looks like a great spot to try doing some rap while you sit out the nasty storm. That's Tony's recommendation - a trade off for you giving a great name to his RV. Stay warm and enjoy the cabin instead of trying to survive outside in the severe weather. We can have some really grim weather in NC, even if not quite as extreme as some in NZ. Thanks for the videos in the great outdoors in NC.
I appreciate how you edited that Luke, so we could watch you eating the noodles, without watching you eat the noodles 😂
That Tundra is gorgeous don't get rid of it 😢
😮 wow! We only got 4.21" of rain in all of 2023! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
Aye Luke it's a bit of work to maintaining your access route but well worth it .the cabin has turned our to be a great idea
I saw Dances with wolves in a packed theatre And when the movie Ended Nobody got up right away Just Quit and crying !
HANDS DOWN the best movie of 2023 was THE SOUND OF FREEDOM. The theatre in my small town was PACKED for every showing the whole 3 days it was in our area. AND EVERYONE, even some big ole cowboy types, came out there crying.
Hi Luke, I’m so looking forward to this trip. I’m glad we’re in a safe place. I love listening to sleet and rain. Can’t wait to see what we can hear in your camper…. It’s about ready to start….. you have a great time, too. Take care🙋🏻♀️💕
Hey, Luke, that storm got us in East Tennessee. We’re on the Little River, coming out of the Smokies. We got an inch of ice followed by 2-3 inches of snow…slick. In Knoxville they got 6-10 inches of snow. Traffic had to slow down. Yep, there were folks that didn’t do well, wrecks, stopping and ditching. I grew up on a mountain, driving in snow every winter. I have a Tundra, 8 cyl, 4X4. It’s mighty fine. I drove everywhere without any trouble. Love, love, love my Tundra. P.S. When my family needs to go, tow and haul, in the snow…when their car won’t do it…they use my Tundra.
Thank you for a nice video. It was nice to see you comfy cozy in the cabin. Stay safe.
That's the storm that flooded my basement up here in Culpeper County, VA. Glad you were high and dry for that one.
Luke! On the topic of new trucks, try looking at the Tacoma. I have a 2020 with a six foot bed that I just bought a camper shell for and I love it. Its big enough to fit me and all my camping gear while being a small enough wheel base for me to fit pretty much everywhere. Food for thought.
Great show so relaxing
Have to love a good old mixed storm but yup dangerous with ice and limbs which could snap off. Happy you had the cabin for shelter Thanks for letting us join you on this adventure.
Those window visors aren't going to work very well. They are made for windows that open from the top. So that the opening is covered by the visor allowing air to flow while keeping rain out. Your windows open from the side, so the top mounted visor provides minimal (if any) protection . MaxxAir used to sell a version for side opening windows but they discontinued it for some reason.
Hello Luke,, we got that weather too,, we got rain, ice, snow and artic cold winds and still cold,, but finally after 2 wks of under freezing temps are going up.. love this video and thank you.
You bro are living the dream! I have always wanted to do what you are doing ! Love it !!!
Hi Luke I am learning a lot and very entertained watching your videos and hey it could have been worse and blessings to you and your family ❤
Hi Luke and family, fellow friends here, Awesome video, thanks for the effort with the footage and the editing. A lot of effort goes into this and it shows, keep it rolling like this, it works. As for the truck, it also works. The moment you sell it and watch it drive away you will regret it. The shortcomings of owning that truck are very few. Spend the money on gear, trips, camera and audio equipment. Or yourself and family. And you will still have change left over. This is my weekly treat, watching the Thursday camping trip! Kind regards, Duncan South Africa
I like your coffee cup with the wolf on it
I actually had a moment like that in a theater once, while watching I Am Legend when it released, and there is a certain scene, I won’t spoil it, but it definitely wasn’t silent, more like the entire audience was sobbing! lol 😭. I’ll never forget that moment! I also clearly remember watching Cloverfield in theaters when it released, and it was so real for the time, I literally thought it was actually happening in New York, because the found footage style of the movie is well done 😎
I know I'm weird but I actually enjoy when we get to see the "cabin". I don't enjoy the circumstances but seeing what it was turned into is awesome
Awesome video Luke. Plus, that sure is a nice piece of property.
Hope you got some good snow out of this past storm. We got a lot on the other side of the mountains here in east Tennessee! We also got some super low dangerous temps the past few days. Love the videos bud keep em coming!
Luke, you are an amazing outdoorsman. You always overcome the elements no matter how trying they are and head home the next day which is astonishing considering the unbelievingly primitive areas you camp in. Keep up the good work.
the Buddy heater and big lp gas tank is one of my systems as well for my tiny house.
Toyota is supposed to be coming out with a small pickup called the Stout soon. Its on my radar.

Hi luke, great video as usual. Have u still got the old wooden cabin , the one made of black locus wood? I think everyone would love to see u camping in that cabin again. It was so cosy with the old cast iron wood stove in there . And how u used tarp and foil to seal around the stove pipe. So is the real wood cabin still there or has it been blown down or did u knock it down after storm damage. It was 100 years old wasnt it? Still, loved that episode. In thr snow and howling wind, in a wood cabin wit the cast iron stove.

@@azclaimjumperyeah I'd love to see it or know if it's still there too. Am sure in an episode couple years ago, Luke said they were gonna refurbish or fix it up a bit. Then next time I saw cabin camping, they was using the caravan style cabin as in thus video. I wonder If the old wood cabin had finally been destroyed by the weather or when refurbishing it , it became too unsafe etc to do. I love old wood cabins and even better was the old cast iron wood burner stove. Hopefully Luke will see these messages and let us know how the old wood cabin is doing or has gone!
Hi Mr Luke. I hate to camp. You make it look fun!
Welcome to Dorm Room Cooking with Luke. Today we'll be preparing a delectable ramen dinner and a scrumptious instant oatmeal breakfast. Each meal will be punctuated by an aromatic caramel instant coffee blend. Bon appetit! Just goofing, brother! Stay safe. I appreciate the effort you put into your videos.
Great video as always ! As for the movies experience, I remember watching 100s and hearing 100s of people cry, as Tom Hanks says "Roll on One.." in The Green Mile..that scene still gets to me to this day.
My movie experience like Godzilla Minus One.. was Schindler's List. My girlfriend at the time was headed over to Europe for a week when this movie came out in the theater. From the get go, absolute silence except for the crying and sniffling. Walked out with not a dry eye and thought provoking experience.
Well just wanted to let you know that your reviews has made my camping trips awesome. Thsnks
Hi Luke!: Glad y'all came out of the bad weather ok!! I too, like the cabin adventures! That little BRS stove is SO Cool! Glad to see it work so well with propane! Am going to try that with mine. Those different Japanese noodle dinners are GREAT! Just made the Korean BBQ one with smoked salmon, MMMmmmmmmm!
Crazy weather we are having in the first month of the new year
We are supposed to get 8-13 inches of snow here in the next 36 hours
It is nice to see you enjoy your mountain. I have been camping for at least 50 yrs been all around the US which is all beautiful . I know that I am partial but I still like 0regon the best the reason being you have any area you want from the coast, dessert, mountains and cities it is all within 300 miles from home. Just keep on enjoying all you do it is great.
We got a total of approximately 4.25" in all of 2023 here In the sunny 🌞Arizona 🌵 desert 🏜️. 💖😷
Had to google the coffee brand and look up those little touch table lamps. I'd like one of those for our vintage toyota rv. I've no problem with downsizing. We tend to keep the things that work for us and take care of them. "Mission profile"! It's not always what you want - but what you need. There is no one size fits all for everyone. Another good one here. Cheers. 👍
Just word of advice, I went through a few trucks. What I did was get a truck that was more than I needed and didn't look back. It does what I want when I want. Downsizing for just one part of my life was always a disaster. My current truck is now 9 years old and I am happier then ever. Just some food for thought.
That storm that hit Lone Wolf Mt. was the same storm that hut my state - Arkansas - and dumped 8" of snow and very cold temp.s - it was in the mid 20s for a high over last weekend 🥶🥶🥶
Hey Luke, it's good to see another video with rain mixed with snow and back to rain again
Good evening Luke, I know you love fjallraven gear. I picked up a fjallraven Greenland wool knit quarter zip pullover at my local thrift store. It cost me a whole $6. Yes, you read that right. That my best find so far this year.
Had a buddy heater in a old camper I was staying in at in Kentucky, best thing ever. love the vids, so excited when I see you pop up in the notifications. 🙂
For a new Truck, I love my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. Had it for over 4 years. Not a full size but big enough to haul what you need. Comfort, heated seats, steering wheel, mirrors, Nav, etc. Gas mpg avg 18 and 4x4 system with the locking front and rear axles. Never been stuck, and they are far more affordable than any other truck. I am not a Jeep dealer/seller, just a guy who who has always loved Jeeps. Dan
Must say love the hodge twins too pretty funny
Love the cabin, but I would get the tires off the ground. Pavers or treated lumber under them

I have never seen your kids until this video, your son looks like you and your daughter looks just like Sue. I have been thinking of buying a trailer and doing something on the order of what you have but to not that extent. Loved this video
My work truck is a 66 beetle, so I think your truck is more modern than mine.😂😂
THE CABIN? LOOKS LIKE A TRAIL LUKE!?
We've had the same crazy weather in central Vermont. 2 major floods in 5 months time in my area. I enjoy your videos, it's always relaxing to watch. Glad you don't put awful music on your videos!
Great video Luke and love the Godzilla movies. Talking about the Buddy Heaters I have for years used and slept with those things with little ventilation all the time and never had any issues with them, If the oxygen level falls to low it will shut off and I use a carbon monoxide detector and it has never went off while sleeping and I'm a pretty light sleeper. Stay safe.

Whoever built that road did an excellent job!
Luke. As for smaller vehicles, I have a Jeep Cherokee, 2000, last year they had the good straight six engine. It is indestructible and has lasted these past 20 years. Basically no rust have put very little money into it and still runs great. It is my main camping vehicle. Not sure if you can still find one but worth the look.
We have a 2013 Sequoia and she is a beast! Our son has a 4 runner. We had a full length Tundra, loved her but no longer practical. Good luck with your search.
Sure would like to see an indoor/outdoor thermometer for your trailer.
Very cool family pics Luke.
It would be nice to have an escape place to go if my house is about to flood. Only problem is finding a safe place, and getting there without getting cut off from main roads that aren't flooded. My area gets as much as 20" of rain from a storm sometimes. I could convert my car into a sleeping place, but not for more than 5 days off grid. I could go longer if i towed a little trailer. Your set up is ideal!
I hope you got some snow out of this recent storm (1/15-15), although the post-storm chill would be dangerous. We got a little over 8 inches in Northern Union County, TN and have dropped to singles digits (or below) in the last couple of days.
Nice trailer / camper ! Love it ..
Glad to see you survived that hurricane that came through earlier this month. Here we had a little rain a little wind that’s about all Kathy.
Hi Luke Love your Cabin it’s vary Awesome and Amazing Love that Place 😊
See "A Quiet Place" but it's better in a theater. Survival, mayhem, but the entire premise is "you must be absolutely silent" to avoid attention of monsters. I wasn't quiet, but I did realize I was holding my breath and not moving, as though I was one of the characters in the film who needed to be absolutely still. Great film.
I'm actually having the exact same thing for dinner. I' love em.
I like my small pickup. Only regret is I didn't get 4x4. Hodge twins are still funny. Buddy heaters are great and perfectly safe inside when used as recommended. Keep up the good work!
I sure hope you have your trailer anchored down to some concrete pillars. The right wind comes up and it will send you on a ride or flip it. Even if you hand dig some holes and dry bag it. Put re-rod in there and hook some chain to your frame on the corners.
I have a 1986 jeep comanche. It's a nice little 4×4. It can get in some tight spots and has a nice size truck bed. The 6 cylinder is enough for the woods out here.
You might want to invest in some wheel covers for your trailer so the tires don't rot. They also looked really deflated.
Hey Luke, it’s Jorge here from Singapore and I just wanna say thank you for putting so much effort into making all the contents of your KZread channel. My wife and I absolutely love what you do and we hope that we will be able to go out there in nature to hike and camp just like you did when we move to Sweden in the near future. We’re both grateful for all the videos you put out and I can tell you that I watched your videos every night before I go to sleep and it’s like a calm therapy that makes me have a really good night sleep haha! Anyways, hope you will stay healthy and safe always and continue to enjoy doing what you do. Love from Singapore 🇸🇬
What fun... I am watching your video as I am designing stormwater drainage scheme which is designed for 3" rain per hour as typical rain here, with 8" being extreme rain, luckily does not happen much lol
Brotha Luke. This is Jeffrey from Cali. Been watching you for ten yrs or so. Love the truck-keep the truck. Yaki soba is an old school staple in the Japanese cuisine.
On the movie thing - saw "The Passion of the Christ" in the theater. That was THE quietest exit, aside from the people crying as they were leaving, I've ever experienced for a movie.
Hey Luke for better heating keep that buddy heater low in position and a fan up high. Enjoyed this adventure ….
Hello there Luke. We had that same storm roll though PA. It was nasty as well. Ice jams where I work on the roofs. Hope you all are safe and warm. As far as a smaller vehicle; a Subaru. Lots of those around where I live in PA. ( I have one too) Just a suggestion. Also, I do enjoy watching your videos. They inspire me to get outdoors and do wildlife and landscape photography. Thank you! :)
Hello, from Northern California. I was a huge monster movie fan when I was a kid. Godzilla was my favorite! I love the sound he made. I just saw the new Godzilla movie, and absolutely loved it. It was a great story, and they actually added some of the old monster movie music. They did put in a little bit of his original sound when he roars, so that was great. And when he went nuclear, that was awesome. Thank you for another great video, I always look forward to them. Stay safe.
It would be a good idea to put covers on your cabin tires to help prevent dry rot, especially if you don’t plan to move it for a while.
Dude, you are a truly amazing human being dude
Luke, Keep the truck, and buy a UTV for Lone Wolf Mountain and other places!
Awesome video!
Hey Luke! Have never commented on something before, but when you mentioned a smaller sized truck, I’d have to say that the new Tacomas look amazing! Definitely something to consider! Especially the Trail Hunter!
Great vid Luke
